Chapter 5

The academic teacher of Gunners town Morne, who seemed to have finished arguing with Loris' father, had a slightly scowling face. He pushed back his chair and stood up slowly, at which point all gazes began to fall on the professor with a puzzled expression.

"I thought this was all about the marriage annulment, didn't you?" accused Loris' father with an angry expression. "If it is! Stop it now!" he ordered.

Loris' father pounded the table a little hard, causing some elders to startle. They tried to calm Loris' father down regardless of the man's position.

Likewise, Loris realized that no one respected his father like before. He felt frozen to the spot in a state of panic.

"Er, this reunion has already been held. Shouldn't it be continued to the end? I ask for your help, Mr. Federic," replied the teacher hesitantly. He tried to convince Loris' father that his actions were the truth.

Things were getting tense as everyone began to realize the intent of the Gunners academy teacher and Loris's father's loud chatter that led to a disgrace that would be told to the entire Federic family.

"I've said repeatedly that if this is true, I want this matter resolved in private!" repeated Loris' father, who stood up along with the Gunners academy teacher.

While Loris' father was stirring up the situation, the Gunners Academy teacher was a little confused. He frowned as he was about to open his mouth again.

But across the other seats, Remuel began to frown and made repeated eye gestures at the teacher. His forefinger began tapping the table repeatedly in an impatient motion.

"Let's remember how I did it earlier!" Remuel whispered silently from a few seats away.

Seeing that, the teacher began to remember Remuel's words before they arrived at Federico's residence.

"Teacher, don't worry if the old man refutes. I'm the dean candidate. Use that against them." Remuel emphasized that in front of the teacher before finally walking ahead. "They won't dare go against the dean's words," Remuel added haughtily.

The teacher became submissive at the mention of the dean's name. He alone, who worked for years under the Dean, had never once had a strong hand to use the dean's name. But Remuel, the genius of Morne, was different.

Remembering that the Academy teacher became indecisive, he then looked at Loris' father, "Mr. Federic, the Dean of Gunner Academy has approved everything. We are only here to deliver his message," replied the teacher, trying to be as flat as possible in the face of Loris' father's angry outburst.

Loris' father widened his eyes. He was so angry that he wanted to turn the table but had not yet opened his mouth. The teacher interrupted.

"The Dean wants to make Remuel focus on his studies to become his heir. So this wedding planning is too soon for Remuel." Teacher Gunners added with a more resolute face now.

Finished from declaring the news of the annulment of the marriage between Loris and Remuel, the entire hall containing Federico's extended family exchanged glances. They began to pay more attention to Loris, but no word came out.

"Look at him, you loser," Leon grinned.

The young man enjoyed the tense situation and mocked Loris inwardly through his pitying gaze. He became one of Loris' family who was happy with Loris' cancellation and downfall.

While some stared at Loris with half-pitying and contemptuous gazes, Loris in his seat, endured the pain.

"Damn it, seriously!" Loris was breaking out into a cold sweat in his place as the contents of his head became noisy.

He was aware of the piercing gazes of everyone in the hall for him, but he could not even raise his head to stare at his father's reaction.

At that moment, Loris, holding back anger and fear, provoked the magic power within her body. The rush of her emotions rising made the flow of magic in her body naturally flow.

Loris couldn't even control it, making her heart beat very fast.

"Brother Loris," whispered Arturo, who saw that Loris was very pale.

The man's head was bowed, with the veins in his neck tightened. Even his sweat began to soak the clothes on his back. Arturo was sure Loris was holding himself back from his mounting emotions.

Not wanting to make Loris even more uncontrollable, he spontaneously took Loris' hand and grasped it tightly. Arturo felt Loris' hand was icy and shook violently.

Leon, who had been grinning happily at the tense situation, had his smile fade. His gaze immediately became sad, and the wrinkles on his forehead were visible.

"Tch damn it," Leon whispered from across the table when he accidentally saw Arturo's hand gesture to Loris' chair.

Things got worse when the teacher finished speaking and even provoked Loris' father to heed the cancellation with a good reception.

"Mr. Federic, I look forward to your cooperation," invited the gunners' teacher kindly.

But Loris' father was already frustrated. He, who had been angry and stood up, immediately sat down with a puzzled look.

The man was silent for a long time in his chair with unsteady breathing. Even his gaze was fixed on one destination. Loris' father seemed to be thinking about something.

At the opposite table, the elders who had a bad relationship with Loris' father chuckled at Loris' father's attitude for ignoring the teacher who was speaking. They looked at each other and then at Loris' father with cynical gazes.

"He's starting to act out," whispered one of the elders, baiting another. He casually stroked his long white beard and smiled at the elder beside him.

One of the three of them just stayed silent with a flat stare. He kept relentlessly staring at Loris' father, hoping the man would realize he was the subject of conversation.

"How do we make him realize that he is no longer worthy of his current position?" asked the elder with the longest beard and the most condescending nature.

He was the elder who had the worst relationship with Loris' father due to conflicts in the past.

"Calm down. After all, Federic has the full right to make decisions," came the flat reply from one of the elders who had been silent. He could only slightly calm down the increasingly rumbling situation.

The increasingly awkward situation made Remuel's nape heat up, and the woman sitting on her back began to sit up straight.

Remuel cleared her throat softly, the small sound making all the gazes at the long table conference begin to focus on her. But the genius shooter woman had a lot of confidence.

"Excuse me, teacher, I, as Remuel, have permission to speak directly," Remuel opened her voice by standing up and making a small bow before Loris' father.

The beautiful and kind woman smiled kindly, hiding her hatred for the Federico family, "according to the dean's suggestion, that E-level magic firearm is both a gift and his apology for this sudden decision."

Remuel came forward with an old-looking dark brown wooden box with rare and unique carvings. She placed it on Loris' father's desk when the teacher allowed him to come forward.

"Ha... seriously, she's a good girl," one of the middle-aged women in the Federico family whispered.

The sounds of admiration from several people began to be heard in the hall. They approved of Remuel's kind gesture and were so flattering of Remuel's generosity.

Not forgetting after placing the gift, Remuel made a regretful face in front of the entire Federico family and made a small bow before returning to his seat.

"They were too naive," Remuel thought sweetly before the conference.

Remuel even deliberately glanced at Loris before returning to his desk. Their eyes met momentarily, giving Remuel a satisfying look of triumph.

Loris felt humiliated and very upset, but all she could do was keep quiet and watch Remuel's movements until the woman returned to her seat.

Once she was seated, the buzz of admiration for Remuel made them forget the hurt Loris was feeling. No, from the beginning, they did not even care about Loris' feelings.

"She's very generous and polite. There should be no need for Federic to raise this issue because that young lady deserves better than planned." Said one of the longer bearded elders who was babbling in a whisper.

One of the elders instantly turned sharply to his right, his gaze silencing the long-bearded elder.

"Compensation is appropriate. He sacrificed a rather tall firearm," one of the other elders said casually.

The rest of the hall joined in Remuel's praise. Now, none of them regretted the cancellation. Instead, they agreed that Remuel had chosen not to be with the cripple Loris.
