WHAT IF WE GET CAUGHT?

“What did you just say!” Grandma Jane asked after dropping her fork.

At the Armstrong mansion, the old lady sat at the dining table, staring intensely at Liam who looked extremely displeased.

He had to admit it, his blood was boiling and he wanted to explode! How the hell could that lady make him do that in public?

What was making him even more pissed was the fact that that stupid oaf, Byron, patted his head, calling him a fucking good boy!

He just didn't get it! Who the fuck was that woman? And how in hell did Byron get close to someone that powerful? Even his friend who is the company's PR0 obeyed her like she was the president herself.

At some point, he almost thought she was the president but everyone knows Mega Corporation's president is a man.

‘I smell something fishy!’ He thought. But he wouldn't give Byron the pleasure of having the last laugh.

He cleared his throat then glared at Maggi and the rest before turning to Old lady Jane, “It’s all Byron's fault, Granny.” He started, frowning a bit more. “Listen, I went there, saw the president of Mega Corporation…”

“Omg! You saw the president?” One of Armstrong's damsels cut him short.

She thought no one knew the president yet.

They all rolled their eyes then turned to Liam who continued, without sparing her a glance. “We discussed and negotiated the contract. But just as the president was about to sign the papers, that imbecile, Byron walked in with a woman beside him… She was none other than the executive assistant to Mega Corp!” Liam clenched his fist then continued, “He is her boy toy, Granny.”

Samantha twitched her lips as she dropped her glass of water on the table, “Liam is right, Grandma!” She stood from her seat, explaining what happened at the restaurant.

“That uncultured gigolo even went as far as kicking my friend, her husband and I out of Fab.”

Liam nodded in agreement.

“Byron disgraced me, grandma. He didn't just spit on the Armstrong family, he ridiculed our family name. His sugar mommy had me beaten and tossed out of the building, banning our family, after all we did for that riffraff!” He added, seeing everyone frozen with shock.

“Jeez!”

Maggi's mouth fell wide open. Even the rest couldn't help it… most of them quickly turned to see her expression.

“Byron, had you beaten up?!” The old lady dragged every word, not hiding the displeasure she felt hearing that that son of a bitch didn't just have the guts to get her grandson beaten up but is also the reason they weren't able to seal with the almighty Mega Corporation deal.

Maggi's face was now pale, she felt like someone had snatched or probably stole something from her.

So, Byron already has a new woman so fast after they divorced? The woman is even his sugar mommy!

‘How shameless!’

She swallowed hard then stood up abruptly from her chair and silently walked to her room.

Was she jealous? No, the heavens forbid that she felt that way. Byron was a good-for-nothing idiot, why should she care if he had a rich sugar mummy?

Later that night, Liam walked into Maggi's room but didn't find her there, then he turned and saw a figure at the balcony.

He went there but she was busy with her phone. He wanted to call her name but noticed she was so engrossed in what was on her phone. His eyes widened as he saw what she was searching on the net.

[How gorgeous is the executive assistant of Mega Corporation?]

She scrolled down, zooming in and glaring at the lady's picture then suddenly she heard a familiar laughter behind her.

“Hahaha! Don't tell me you're jealous!” He laughed really hard.

Then she stood up, putting her phone into her pocket with guilt written all over her.

“I…I wasn't…” She tried to deny it but he didn't stop laughing.

“Seriously? How gorgeous is she? Hahaha! Is that how jealous you can be?”

His laughter was full of pain and bitterness. Though he was trying to hide the pain, it was obvious in his voice. The one he loved was jealous of her ex-husband's sugar mummy!

“Listen, instead of checking her up? Why don't we just sabotage their relationship?” He said, his voice firm.

Maggi glared at him, creasing her brows. “Hell no!” She tried to walk away but he held her back.

“Hey… Do you really want that bastard to slap us with all the money he's going to get from that sugar mommy of his?”

Liam paused then continued, “Do you even know how powerful that woman is?! She's the assistant to Mega Corporation's president! Think about it. Your Ex-husband will be living in wealth, we won't get that partnership, and it's going to feel like karma!”

He explained with a stern look while Maggi just crossed her arms over her chest, trying to think.

“Think about little Ava. She is going to suffer. We have already lost this bid, the business is going downhill. Imagine what will happen if he decides to come after us for what we did to him. It will be catastrophic. We have to do this,” Liam stated emphatically.

Maggi paused, thinking Liam was right. Besides, why should Byron be with a woman who was more beautiful, sophisticated, and powerful than her?

“What do you suggest we do to ruin their relationship then?”

“It’s really simple.” Liam moved close and whispered something into her ear.

Maggi furrowed her brows, “Are you out of your mind?! I will never do that. You better come up with another plan or forget it,” Maggie replied snarkily, her face etched with a deep scowl as she glared at Liam for even daring to suggest such.

Her skin crawled at the thought of a lowlife like Byron ever touching her again.

“Oh please Maggi, get off your fucking high horse. It’s nothing you haven’t done before,” Liam shot back. “Look, it’s the only way this can work.”

Maggi looked intently at Liam with furrowed brows.

“I don’t want to become a laughingstock. What if we get caught? That would even do more damage to us than Byron ever could,” Maggi voiced her worries reluctantly.

Liam let out an evil smile, “Not at all. I got everything under control.”
