Nega had a bit of a hard time getting back home but he was still the first to arrive. He sat on his chair in the same room he had met Orie and the others and proceeded to get a smoke. He made sure his blunt was rolled perfectly and searched himself for a lighter but couldn't find any.
"Need a light?" A familiar voice said from the distance. He looked up to see someone he knew that he really needed at the moment.
'Philip Vaquero', arguably the greatest bounty hunter of his time with very few competition. With an almost perfect record, he made his way to the top spot in the bounty hunter world and what made him fearsome was that all his bounties were top tier and of the highest grade. So if Vaquero ever came for you, all you could do was hope that you were wanted alive.
Such a fearsome man stood in front of Nega and called him "BOSS" with a casual salute and he reciprocated with a casual "yo"
"You're quite early" Nega said as he reclined back on his chair
"Well boss" Phil replied
"I happened to be around the area" he said
"Also," he added
"A bunch of guys where outside looking you"
"It looked quite urgent, but I was able kindly tell them that you weren't around" he said with a grin.
"You killed them, didn't you?" Nega asked
"Well.." Phil replied
"They weren't listening"
"And also because they had guns" he added
"How many were they" Nega asked
"I think there were five of them in total" Phil answered.
"Alright" Nega said then almost immediately, Phil felt a ringing in his pocket. He checked his phone to see what it was and saw that fifty thousand dollars had been credited to his account.
"Hmm" Phil uttered with a smirk
"You really are a man of your word" he said, looking at Nega.
"Now let me get to work" he said as he made his way back through the door.
"Wait a sec" Nega said in haste
"I still haven't told you who you're going after" he added
"I already know who they are" Phil replied with a loud tone that expressed anger and resentment.
"They're Freeland special forces"
"The same guys that got to Matéo"
"Their death is my payment"
"Your bounty is just an added bonus" he said as he walked out of the room.
Not long before Phil left the room and came out of the lonely house in the middle of nowhere, he found himself in the running from gunshots and shooting back. Each one of his shots hit their intended targets but it was quite the opposite for the ones shooting at him.
"Special forces bastards" he said as he hid and reloaded his revolver.
"It's like the only thing they're good at is sneaking into places"
"Your sniper can't even get it right" he said as he came out and shot far into the distance. At first, the soldiers thought it was just an unlucky shot that missed but it wasn't long before someone on their comms yelled out "THE SNIPER IS DOWN!!, I REPEAT THE SNIPER IS DOWN!!"
On the other hand, A while back in the open field, commander Hughes tried his best to run from Orie but his weakened legs couldn't do much to create any distance between them.
Orie walked behind the terrified commander with an emotionless face of which the right half had become purely black with the markings of his death god. The same markings were on right side of his entire of his entire body and could be noticed because he had taken off all the clothing that covered the top half of his body. In his right hand, he held the the blade of Obgun'abali and with each step he took, the grass around him died.
"Whoa" Yamato exclaimed from the distance as he was warned to stay back.
The world was silent to Orie and he could hear nothing as he struck the heels of his target and broke them. He saw a terrified Hughes turn around and beg for mercy but he could not make out the words.
"The killer at night does not listen to the plea of the wicked" he said as he raised his machete and struck Hughes on the shoulder. The blade did not cut through but the strike was heavy and shattered every bone it came in contact with.
"A sharp blade is mercy" Orie said
"And mercy cannot be granted to the wicked man" he added as he struck another shoulder.
"You will not die until I'm done"
"And do not think think this is the worst of it"
"There is a whole lot more of this..."
"...IN HELL!!"
Hit after hit, Orie struck with the blunt blade at did not stop until his hands could no longer move and he let go of the machete which disappeared into thin air. The markings on his body cleared as he raised his head to look at the sky and he could finally hear what was happening around him.
"Mr. Addison" a familiar voice said from behind and he turned around to see Yamato coming towards him. All Orie could do was stare at Yamato and, he could not not utter a word.
Yamato could understand Orie's state of mind at the moment.
"Let's go back" he said as he pulled Orie away from the disfigured sight that could not even be called a corpse. Orie walked with him slowly and when they had covered some distance, Yamato washed all the blood from Orie's body and gave him clean clothes to wear.
"I'm sure they're waiting" he said as they walked away into the distance.
Meanwhile, Shiro seemed to have tracked where Mia was.
"I hope all that overthinking paid off" he said to himself as he walked through a hallway with many doors.
Within the time he spent pacing around, an idea came to Shiro. If he could track the residue of his energy that was left on Mia during their time together, then he had a chance of finding her. He tracked the energy to a large suspicious looking building and was currently walking across it's underground hallways.
He kept walking until at some point he felt something and stopped at one doors.
"The energy is stronger here" he said as he proceeded to open the door. He was right. As soon as he opened the door, he saw Mia but she didn't look too happy to see him.
Before he could speak, she was right in front of him swinging her blade to strike.
"Maybe she's just being alert" he said to himself
"She's just on her guard, that's all" he thought. But he was very wrong.
"MIA!!" He yelled as kept dodging her strikes
"IT'S ME!!" He added but it was like she couldn't hear what he was saying, she just kept swinging her blade at him like she had the intent to kill him.
An ominous figure whatched it play through a screen in an unknown location.
"How will you get out of this?"
"You can't save yourself if you stay"
"You can't save her if you run"
"Can you bring yourself to attack someone you love?"
SHIN SEKAI SECRET: The blade of Obgun'abali has the ability to change it's level of sharpness depending on who or what it wants to cut.
"If you ask questions that have already been asked, you will get answers you've already heard" "I find myself having to give answers to a question that has been asked many times" "A question with many answers" "An whatever action I take" "I would just be chosing amongst the multitudes of answers that have already been given" "What would you do if someone you love turned her blade against you?" "Do you strike back?" "Do you let them strike you?" "Do you find fault in them?" "Do you find fault yourself?" "Do you blame an enemy?" "Do you blame yourself?" "Many answers are given to this question" "But the only true answers are given by those who already made their choice" "Some would say that a gentleman would first try to initiate dialogue before drawing his sword" "But I am not a gentleman" "There is a creed i stand by for all situations" "If you want the story to go in your favor" "If you want to stand high at the end"
"OVERSHADOW", that is what was heard before the entire hall was thrown into a complete white-out. Everything was affected including the color of Mia's skin and hair. For a brief moment, Mia's expression showed that of one who was remorseful of her actions but it immediately switched back to the paleness it had before and she continued attacking Shiro. Her attacks had become sloppy. The intense color altering caused by Shiro's technique had a great effect on her ability to concentrate and differentiate the things in front of her and she found herself running into walls more often. "The real Mia would have figured this out by now" Shiro said in disappointment as he effortlessly evaded all her attacks. The battle stretched on and after a while, things started to regain thier normal appearance. The ominous figure in the dark made an observation. Even though he could see Shiro through a monitor, he could not feel a shred of his presence at all. The case was different a while ago
Mia recalled a conversation she once had with Shiro. She remembered asking him "if I ever turned my blade against you, what would you do?" And Shiro's answer was "I don't know" "I don't know if I could bring myself to fight against you" was Shiro's answer but it wasn't one that she approved of. "If I ever turn against you" she said "It would not be of my own will" "and I wouldn't be in my right mind" "So whatever happens" "Stop me" "Even if it means breaking my bones" As Mia recalled the event, she gave Shiro a piercing stare that carried the message "You thought I meant it literally?" and he gave back a look that said "well... I don't know what you're talking about" and her stare turned into a cold gaze. "Shiro dear" she said in a calm but threatening tone "You know I love you right?" She added and Shiro was like "oh shit!!" "But..." She said and Shiro already knew what was coming. "I'll surely get back at you for this" she said and Shir
Power is always associated with trouble. Sometimes it is great enough to save us from trouble, sometimes it isn't. Sometimes it is so great that trouble can't get close and sometimes its greatness is the reason why trouble comes. Sometimes it's not about how you use it, sometimes it's about the power itself. The mere existence of a certain power could stir up fear, awe, hatred and envy depending on who percieved it and how they do. "My power is supposed to kind that helps me escape trouble" Victor said to himself as he drove through an empty road with nothing but desert on both sides. "But unfortunately" he said with a sigh "I'm stuck with a lot of trouble magnets" "What a drag" It wasn't long before the lonely house in the middle of nowhere came into view but it wasn't the only thing in sight. What was seen was both scary and magnificent. A lone cowboy stood in front of the house and before him was a fresh field of corpses that spread far around the hou
"A great awakening happened once" "And the people of the world regained the sense of self they never knew they had lost" "Returning along with it was their greed, and their desire to own things." "All property was unclaimed and the race to claim them was intense, so intense that it lead to fights, then small group battles, then full scale wars between Nations." "Our freedom from the order brought a chaos that that we could not handle" "And it took a long time before we could attain balance" These were the words of Edward Clipper as he sat with them through the journey. "Why are you telling us this?" Shiro asked and Edward answered. "It is a truth I must speak as a descendant of one who saw it all with open eyes" he said "All the land was taken over by the order but the sea wasn't, and the sea was the home of my ancestors" "As those who were unaffected by the enslaving rule of the order, they witnessed the unfolding phenomenon with full awareness and
When your life is weird enough that travelling half across the world by sea in a single morning doesn't freak you out, you know you need a break. But unfortunately for Shiro, the weirdness of his life doesn't allow for breaks either. As he laid on his bed to get some extra shut-eye, someone knocked on the front door of his house. He was too lazy to answer it and remained on his bed whining about it. "Oh, come on" he lamented "I just got back" "Can't someone just let me sleep in peace" "Even if it is just five minutes" Soon the knocking stopped and it was then that Shiro remembered that he had left the door open. "Oh, shit" By the time he realized what was going on, there was a stranger in his room and he was jumping out the window. "What's with the grin?" Shiro wondered as he looked back at the crazy looking guy that was after him. "Do these guys ever get tired?" He asked as he kept running. Shiro ran until the was far enough from him house and in a
"The breeze in the west shall become the storm in the east" "It shall become a powerful force in the north" "And a sight of awe in the south" "And when it returns to the west..." "It shall be unstoppable" "My dear boy, Andrew Clipper" "These are not mere words" "This is your story" On hearing this, Andrew opened his eyes. He was on his knees and Orie stood beside him, placing a hand on his head. The room was dark and was lit by seven candles, and there was no one else in the room with them. Though all the doors and windows in the room were closed an intense wind blew within it. Gradually, the wind got stronger and blew ferociously around the empty room. It was strange that the seven candles didn't go off. "You are a storm that will sweep through all" "A wind that can move lands" "A reckoning force of greatness" "An unbreakable wind" "That, is what you are" Shiro was waiting for them outside the room. Throughout his the time he was wa
The new world tournament was one unique tournament. Despite the fact that it was held by a school and it's participants were staff and students, it still managed to draw worldwide attention. One contributing factor to this could be that the Shin-sekai academy was a prestigious school and was attended by the children of many of the world's elites but the major factor was that it proved to be more entertaining than many others in the world. The structure of the tournament was divided. The teachers' tournament took place first then the students' came after. After winners had been decided from both sides, the two winners would then have a face off. The winner of the previous teacher's tournament was Fuji Waramaki who had remained undefeated for five years. He also won all the face-offs with the student champions. The teachers tournament was full of old faces and the only two new faces in the tournament were Orie and Natsumi. Not many expected a different result from the teach
