Chapter four;

“You don't find them, they find you! And they are only for mages. Only mages can hear what they have to say.”

“Okay,” Tonny now got it. He didn't even strain himself to hear what Suzan was saying.

One of the doors was opened and they both turned to it. It was a mage with well combed hair to the side. He walked with both hands touching his waist. “Here you are,” He spoke in a stereo voice.

Most people always told him he was gay but he had brushed them off time and again.

‘’’Liz, Nathan has been looking everywhere for you like crazy. You got injured and you are still moving around.” Allan spoke.

“I told her,” Suzan interrupted.

“You did!” Elizabeth turned to her answering in a frustrated tone then quickly brushed her off.

“This injury, it was nothing, perhaps I even feel better now that I've been moving around a little.”Elizabeth turned back to Allan.

Allan had been staring at Tonny with these seductive eyes,”Who is this pretty boy, we've taken so long without having a newbie here. Where did you find him? We are lucky to have a new fire mage.”Allan giggled as he moved even closer to Tonny taking a closer look at him while  passing his hand over his shoulders.

“I…..actually, ”Tonny wanted to talk but was cut in the middle before he could finish his sentence.

Elizabeth giggled back embarrassingly. “He is not a mage, I just want to find him a place to crash tonight so he can find his family tomorrow. He is having a little bit of amnesia after being hit by the monster.I found him as I was checking out if there were any mages that were still alive.”

Back then, he used to appreciate Elizabeth stepping in for him, but right now he had some power, he could protect her.But she wasn’t giving her a chance to do so.

“AHH..ahhh.” Allan showed his disgust in an instant when he learned that Tonny was a  non-mage.

Tonny bit his teeth, even now that he had some power, people were still looking down on him. He didn’t want to make things difficult for Elizabeth so he let loose of his clenched jaw. He would deal with him later.

They continued down the hallway to room number sixty six. Elizabeth pushed the door open and in the room were two beds, Tonny was to have a roommate for the night.

“That is all I can provide for now.”Elizabeth spoke as she watched Tonny get inside the room. This could get her into trouble but guess what, he knew exactly how to handle his boyfriend Nathan on such issues.

“I will repay you back the favour one time when I get the chance.”Tonny spoke as she held out her hand for Elizabeth to shake.

Elizabeth reached  out and shook it without hesitation, Allan looked at Tonny with disgust. ”Careful pretty boy,I am sure you wouldn't want to make Nathatn Sott your enemy. With just one flip of his hand, you would be gone.”Allan spoke as he led his way while Elizabeth followed him up.

“Why are you scaring him off?”  Elizabeth gave a slight yet painful slap on Allans shoulders.

Tonny could still listen to their conversations even when they were moving metres away.

“You think I didn’t see the look on your face,Elizabeth.”Allan spoke in a tentative way.”We've been getting all the free privileges. You have your own room and I do too. We feed well, I don't go on the battlefield front line and now you wanna ruin it for me, I mean us, cmon LIiz”

“It is not like Nathan owns me or something.” Elizabeth replied.

“Something is really off about him!” Suzan whispered as they continued to move. “ He has a strong strange energy around him.”

“What do you know?” Allan brushed Suzan off as he proceeded to his room.

Tonny sat on the bed and tried drifting his attention from the two mages. It was clear to him now that Elizabeth was dating Nathan the Supreme god. Tonny wouldn't give up as he was totally in love with her and wanted to know his competition.

Besides, how could someone who would send off non mages as bait be a good person? Nathan wasn’t totally a good person according to him.

But this could wait. He had to know how to focus his powers so he could tell Elizabeth later that he was a mage who had more than one element he could control and that it was just amnesia that he didn't recall who he was.

Tonny folded his legs on top of the bed with his hand placed on his knees. He was trying to meditate. A figure walked in hurriedly before he even closed his eyes.

He was so chubby that he had difficulty even walking through the door. He quickly pulled out the sandwiches from his pockets and then stuffed them in his mouth.

“Oh gosh, couldn’t he have just put it on the plate. How will I focus on my supernatural powers if I continue living like this.I wish I could control the mind too.But it doesn’t hurt giving it a try again.” Tonny stared at the chubby mage, he didn't have his fairy. He must have lost it.

Surprisingly, he could read his mind. The mage was constantly mumbling about how the sandwich was good and he needed to eat faster before anyone found him. Wasn’t he afraid of Tonny  reporting him? No he wouldn’t, newbies wouldn’t want to make enemies first.

A grin lifted on Tonny's lips as he stared at him. According to what he had just analysed, the sandwich had just been stolen. He couldn’t get the reason why he would steal a sandwish.

All the time he had been in the room, he had not said a single word to Tonny.

Tonny suddenly broke the silence, he wanted to really confirm if he didn’t have the talent of mind controlling yet he could easily read people's minds. All he had to do was to look into his eyes. Perhaps that is how it worked. He didn't know if it would but he had to try. “Hey, I am Tonny Walker.”

“Zhao Feng.” Zhao spoke with the sandwich stuffed into his mouth. Tonny had been right. According to his facial appearance, he was Chinese.

Tonny had to make him shift his attention from the sandwich to him.He thought for a while on how to make him focus on him and then finally got an idea.“I could help you get more of that,”

“Silly, newbie. If we the fire mages were allowed to have foods with so much calories, don’t you think I would sit happily in the cafeteria and have it. Why do you think I carried it back here in my cloth.”He scoffed.

Tonny couldn’t let him win against him on that. Perhaps he looked  gullible.  “We can carry a bag and bring back as many as we can.I've been craving that for sandwiches for a long time too.”

Zhao stopped eating and started thinking, after a while a smile filled his face and he suddenly loosened up. “That is a great idea, we could go out and bring back as many as we can.But how shall we do it. Non-mages can only have those for themselves. If any non-mage is caught selling any of those to the mages, he is used as bait in the next attack. So they probably won't sell them to us.” He threw the remaining piece of the sandwich on the ground. “This was probably rotten.” He stared back at Tonny.

This is exactly what Tonny had wanted, Zhao staring back at him.

“Accept, accept….” He murmured as he tried to control Zhao's mind. He wasn’t sure if this was going to work at all. A cold breeze filled the room and disappeared in an instant.

Zhao shook his head in acceptance and he led the way, Tonny followed him with the excitement on his face. He didn’t know how many more elements he would control but he was determined to try out when they went out to the other side of the city in the non-mages premises.

They walked over the streets and Tonny controlled the mind of the non-mage boy to go and  buy them the sandwiches from a stall that was nearby and bring them back to them without Zhao knowing.

Tonny had told Zhao  that he had a few friends among the non-mages. Zhao found it odd that the non-mages never cooperated with the mages at all but they were Tonny's friends. But what was there to hurt, he had got his sandwiches and the non-mages were Tonny's business, not his.

In a few minutes, the non-mage boy brought over the sandwiches and left without a word. The boy didn't know Tonny was just being controlled by him.

“Why do I always feel a cold breeze whenever you are around me?” Zhao asked as he passed his eyes around through the streets before placing the sandwiches in the bag.

“Perhaps you are unwell. The sandwiches are making you sick.” Tonny brushed him off.

“I think we should head back before the non-mages start getting suspicious of what we are doing in their territory at this time of the hour.” Zhao spoke. He didn't want Tonny talking  him out of having his sandwiches. He wanted them to leave as fast so he could eat his freshly made sandwiches.

All these new rules to the mages were exhausting to him. Back then they would eat anything any howly but recently Nathan the Supreme god had come up with a law restricting certain foods to certain mages because of how the foods influenced their supernatural power.

“Lets head back.” Tonny was determined to try out the rest of the elements once Zhao was asleep because he was such a distraction and couldn't go back without him.

As they were walking, Tonny noticed a red haired woman in his fifties among the non-mages that were moving past them  hurriedly. It was past curfew time.

The mages who kept order had no any mercy on the non mages and they hit them hard. Tonny's eyes immediately became watery as he could recognize his face.

Wasn’t she dead?

”Mum!” He called out.
