Chapter 47

Tanner walked over to the table where the lighter and cigarettes were. He lit one and took a drag.

"For a big conglomerate like ours, there are a lot of bad folks, enemies that would never repent. That's what Simon and those guys are for," Tanner said. "I'm sorry about what they did to you, Sir."

Ryan waved it off with a hand. He lit another cigarette and sat on the edge of the table.

"We have those guys all over the place. With what Simon did, I will have to do lots of digging about our other boys in other countries," Tanner said. "Master was going to tell you everything when you turned eighteen but…"

Ryan nodded. "I get it."

There was silence for some seconds as they both concentrated on their cigarettes.

"You're familiar with how to use that, Sir?" Tanner pointed toward the gun.

"Yes. Stephanie's grandfather taught me a lot about it."

"You must be pretty close."
