Chapter 48

"I'm not fighting over anything," Ryan said without looking away from the window. The image of people walking on the road had become a blur and all he could see now was the smiling face of his mother. Her last smile at him.

"Is there anything you want me to do for you, Sir?" Tanner asked.

"Go. That is what I want," Ryan said.

"Alright, Sir." There was hesitation in his voice.

Some moments later, Ryan heard the sound of the door closing. He turned around and leaned on the wall. The truth no one knows, not even the butler, was that it wasn't only because he had not known those who abducted him that he didn't want to go back to New York. It was because of his mother. In New York, he rarely thinks about her. There are too many activities going on over there and it hurts him really hard anytime he remembers that she could have been alive and been a part of those activities if she hadn't been murdered.
