Chapter 005

Arnold smiled bitterly as he shook his head slowly. “What do you say, madam? There is no way I'm your grandson. Someone in the past must have accidentally found this necklace and given it to me. Who knows, the caretaker of the orphanage might accidentally find it," he dismissed the old woman's statement.

Elizabeth shook her head. “No, Arnold. You really are my grandson! You are Arnold Winster, my grandson who was lost as a baby. At first, when I saw your necklace in that room, I thought the same as you. But after seeing the birthmark on your arm, there's no mistaking it; you're my grandson!” She exclaimed while holding Arnold's arm tightly, as if she were afraid of losing her grandson for the second time. Her voice was so emotional.

Arnold's lips trembled. He couldn't say anything because he still couldn't believe what had happened.

“Arnold, you are my grandson. We really missed you, dear," Elizabeth whined, tears streaming down her cheeks.

Arnold's heart skipped a beat. He looked at Elizabeth with tears pooling in his eyes. Without saying a word, he immediately hugged the old woman.

"Grandma? So, you really are my grandmother?” Arnold asked in a trembling voice and was still in disbelief.

“Yes, you are my grandson. I can feel comfort when I hug you, my dear. I can feel the Winster blood flowing inside you.”

"We've tried looking for you everywhere, but no one has been able to find you. Everyone thought you were dead, but only me and your late grandfather believed that you were still alive," Elizabeth said in a sobbing voice.

The maid's arrival stopped their hugs and tears of emotion. The maid lowered her head as she spoke. "Sorry to bother you, madam; Mr. Sebastian is here. He's waiting in front of the door."

Elizabeth responded while wiping her tears. “Let him in!”

“Yes, madam.”

The maid left, and not long afterward, an old man entered the room. Sebastian Allard, a good friend and assistant of the late George Winster—Elizabeth's husband. He was the right hand of the Winster family. For a 70-year-old man, Sebastian looked dashing. His back remained straight, and his muscles, which appeared behind his black shirt, showed how he trained himself all along. He has strong and thick hair, with some grizzlies.

Arnold's gaze met the old man's. Sebastian smiled when he saw Arnold, who looked confused when he saw his arrival.

"Good morning, young master Arnold." Sebastian bowed his body in respect to Arnold.

Arnold's brows furrowed. He gulped. “Yo-young master? Just call me Arnold; that's my name," he requested with a shy smile.

“No, young master. You are my master, so let me call you that,” Sebastian confirmed in an unassailable voice.

Arnold nodded slowly and obeyed them.

“My dear, he is Sebastian Allard, your late grandfather's assistant. He is our family's confidant. He came here to pick you up at our main mansion," conveyed Elizabeth.

Before Arnold responded, Elizabeth grabbed his hand and asked him to stand up. He took Arnold out of the room. When they arrived in front of the hospital, they saw men dressed in black and wearing dark glasses lined up neatly and making way for them.

The men bowed their bodies in respect when they saw Arnold and Elizabeth's arrival.

"Please, Madam, Young Master, we will take you to the mansion," said Sebastian, gesturing his hand towards the car that had been prepared.

Arnold was astonished to see that the car that had been prepared for him was his dream car, the Rolls-Royce Phantom. He has many pictures of the car on the walls of his bedroom—in the attic, exactly. The attic was the only empty space for him in Rachel Aderwin's house.

Arnold walked hand in hand with Elizabeth to get into the car. He was so excited to get in his dream car.

“Grandma, this is amazing! I've dreamed of this car for a very long time, but now I'm in it! I can't believe it!" exclaimed Arnold in excitement.

Elizabeth smiled. She was happy to see her grandson's reaction, and her heart was touched when she heard Arnold call her "Grandma." Now Arnold has truly acknowledged her as his grandmother.

“This car is yours, and there are many other cars waiting for you. I will show you later.”

After 30 minutes, they arrived at the main mansion of the Winster family. Arnold stared out of the car window. He didn't expect that he came from a family that had a house like a palace.

After going through several strict checks, their group set foot on the grounds of the mansion.

Arnold and Elizabeth entered the mansion accompanied by Sebastian. Elizabeth was actually very excited to accompany her grandson, but she felt tired, and because her illness would one day relapse if she was too tired, Arnold asked her grandmother to just rest.

The old woman listened to her grandson, and she left everything to Sebastian.

Sebastian took Arnold around the mansion using a mini vehicle. They had gone around almost every corner of the house, even the car garage, to show Arnold how big a collection of luxury cars they had. The Rolls-Royce Phantom that amazed Arnold was just one of dozens of luxury cars that the Winster family owned.

Sebastian invited Arnold into his office. In the room, he took a file from a mahogany desk drawer and approached Arnold.

"Here, young master, I'd like to show you the Winster family business empire. Please sit down," said Sebastian as he pulled out a chair for his master.

He stood next to Arnold and showed him the documents. “Young master, you are the only grandson of the Winster family, which means you are the heir of this family. I want to show you what companies are under The Winster Group," explained Sebastian.

"Okay, Sebastian." Arnold nodded and read it carefully.

The Winster Group has businesses spanning various fields of real estate, the food industry, technology, healthcare, fashion, hotels, and restaurants.

Arnold's eyes suddenly thinned when he saw the name of the hotel where he worked last night, which was included in his family's business list.

“The Diamond Rose Hotel?” said Arnold in a gasp.

“Yes, young master. This is one of your family's hotels. It's not far from here," replied Sebastian.

"So, can I do anything in this hotel?" Arnold's question made Sebastian chuckle.

“Yes, of course, sir. You occupy the highest position in The Winster Group. No one dares to go against you.”

Arnold grinned. He had a plan in his head.

Even though Arnold felt at home there, he remembered Albert. He wanted to see his best friend because he knew Albert would be worried about him.

"Okay, Sebastian, I have to go now. I'll be back after this. I have to see my friend; he must be worried about me.” Arnold got up from his seat. He immediately rushed towards the door, but Sebastian stopped him.

“Wait, Young Master!” The old man ran and blocked Arnold's path.

Arnold frowned. “When grandma wakes up, tell her that I went to meet my friend. I don't want to wake her now," he reminded.

Sebastian handed him a card. "Here, young master, this card is for you. You can use this. This card contains 30 million dollars.”

Arnold's jaw dropped. "What? 30 million dollars?” Arnold's hands were shaking while holding the card.

"Yes, Young Master. You can use it for your needs," explained Sebastian.

Arnold was still frozen and stunned, but he had to get used to it. He was no longer Arnold, who had no surname or family; now he was Arnold Winster, heir to the richest family in the country.

"Okay, thank you, Sebastian; I have to go now." Arnold stepped out of the room.

Arnold remembered that his belongings were still at Rachel's house. He decided to go there first before meeting his friend.

"I'm officially divorced from Rachel, so I don't want any of my things left in the house," Arnold muttered with a gloomy expression.

"Good afternoon, Young Master." A man's voice startled Arnold.

Arnold quickly put away his sad expression and acted as if everything was fine.

"Good afternoon," Arnold responded spontaneously as he turned back.

“Mr. Sebastian commanded me to take you wherever you go," he conveyed.

Arnold thought for a moment before he finally rejected the driver's offer because he was not ready to be the center of attention when he got out of a luxury car. He was still shocked by his fate changing in the blink of an eye. What's more, he was going to meet Albert, and his best friend would be surprised when he saw him in a luxury car. He will explain it to Albert at the right time.

"No, I'll go by taxi." Arnold immediately left without waiting for confirmation from his driver.

When he arrived in front of Rachel's house, he saw the door to his ex-wife's house open. Arnold rushed towards the door, and when he got there, he was shocked when he saw Rachel and Victor kissing. He immediately turned his face away.

Rachel and Victor were surprised to see Arnold's sudden arrival. She immediately moved her body away from Victor and rose up.

“Arnold?” Rachel frowned as she studied Arnold from head to toe.

Victor leaned back on the couch with a smirk on his lips, looking at Arnold's bandaged hand. “They did a great job. Even though that loser didn't die, at least I taught him a lesson," he muttered.

Arnold's gaze met Victor's. His eyes were filled with rage, remembering what Victor had done to him.

“Arnold! What are you doing here? We're officially divorced, and you shouldn't be here!” Rachel exclaimed.

Before Arnold could reply to Rachel's words, Victor chimed in.

"Aren't you tired yet? Do you still hope that Rachel will accept you as her husband? More precisely, not her husband, but her slave," teased Victor, laughing. He got up from his seat and quickly grabbed Rachel's waist, then kissed the woman. Arnold shut his eyes in disgust at seeing that scene.

Victor's eyes glanced at Arnold, who looked uncomfortable with proud feelings. He laughed. “See, Rachel is already mine. I'm sure you've never kissed her, aren't you?" he teased.

Arnold let out a smirk before he spoke. "Yeah, I never kissed her. I'm not like you who sleeps with a lot of prostitutes!” he quipped.

Both Victor and Rachel were angry when they heard Arnold's words. Rachel felt that her ex-husband compared her to prostitutes.

“Shut up!” Victor immediately stepped forward and grabbed Arnold's collar. He looked at Arnold with a sharp gaze. “How dare you talk like that! Who do you think you are? Do you think you are better than me, huh? Look at yourself; you are just such useless, a loser!” His teeth gritted, and his jaw tightened.

Arnold, with all his might, released Victor's grip on him. “That's a fact, bastard! But what you say about me is not a fact! You don't know who I really am!"

Victor attacked him again and was about to push Arnold's body against the wall, but Rachel stopped him.

“Victor, stop!” Rachel exclaimed while holding Victor's arm. “Don't beat him! He's already injured, and if he dies, then you'll be in big trouble. He's not an important person for us to care about, so let him go and kick him out of here," warned Rachel.

Victor released his grip on Arnold's body with an exasperated sigh.

“Calm down, Victor. Don't do anything rash," Rachel said gently as she rubbed Victor's chest. Rachel's gaze turned to Arnold. “So, what are you waiting for? Do you want Victor to really kill you?” she snapped.

In an annoyed tone, Arnold replied. “I just came here to get my things.” Then he rushed to his room without waiting for their approval.

Arriving at his room, Arnold saw an open suitcase filled with his belongings. It seemed Rachel had ordered the maid to pack his things.

Without further ado, he immediately dragged the suitcase and left the room.

Victor and Rachel were still there. They looked at Arnold while grinning.

Arnold ignored them and wanted to hurry away, but Rachel's voice stopped him in his tracks.

“Arnold, I heard that you have to pay a fine of 5,000 dollars at the hotel for causing chaos. Remember that you have to pay it immediately. But, where did you get that much money?” Rachel taunted.

Rachel believed Arnold would not be able to become rich because he would not be able to get a stable job. Arnold only went to elementary school because the Winster family didn't want the late Mr. Liam to pay for his school fee.

Although the late Mr. Liam insisted on fighting for Arnold education, Arnold chose to give in to avoid conflict between the Aderwin family.

Arnold snorted as he turned to them. “5000 dollars is not a lot of money, Rachel. I will easily pay for it," he answered with a faint smile.

Rachel laughed at her ex-husband's answer. “You seem to have lost your mind, Arnold. I know for a fact that you don't have any money. For the sake of God, you can't even buy me lipstick for 50 dollars. Don't act like you're a billionaire!”

Victor burst out into laughter. “Apart from being poor, this man is also crazy. No wonder Rachel suffered so much when she was with you," he chimed in.

Fed up with their insults, Arnold didn't want to stay there any longer. He rushed out of there, but when he reached the doorway, Victor shouted at him.

“Hey, Arnold! Now I want to show you my kindness. Will you be my servant? At least you will serve us here and won't be homeless," offered Victor. They burst into laughter.

Without looking at them, Arnold emphasized, "I would rather die than be your servant!" He stepped out of the house.
