Chapter 004

Arnold looked around him. The room he was in was very luxurious. The gold-decorated roof, marble floor, classic carvings on the walls, and totally perfect magnificent design made Arnold feel like he was in a hospital in the palace. This was the most luxurious hospital Arnold had ever seen.

“Wow.” Arnold chuckled in amazement.

The sound of the door opening caught Leon's attention. An old woman entered the room. The woman's gaze fell on Arnold, and she smiled.

Arnold, who didn't know who the old woman was, just smiled back.

"Madam Elizabeth, he just woke up a few minutes ago," reported the nurse.

"Thank God," responded Elizabeth.

"Madam Elizabeth?" Arnold muttered.

“Hey young man, how are you? Are you feeling better?” asked the old woman.

“I'm better now; thank you, Madam Elizabeth. So, you brought me here?”

“Yes, I found you lying on the road unconscious. What happened? Why did you get hurt?" Elizabeth looked at Arnold with worry in her eyes.

“Some men beat me, madam. I thought I was dead, but it turns out you saved me," explained Arnold with teary eyes.

“I'm glad I wasn't late. Luckily, I didn't listen to my fool driver. He said that you were might a criminal, and that's why he didn't want to take you immediately into the car. But I kept forcing him, and finally he wanted to do it," said Elizabeth with a peeved expression.

“Seeing your face, I feel like you are not a criminal. You seem like a nice guy," she added.

Arnold was touched to hear Elizabeth's words. The old woman seemed sincere in helping him. “Thank you very much, Madam. I owe you my life.”

“That's fine. Don't worry, I'll help you, young man," said Elizabeth while gently rubbing Arnold's shoulder.

Seeing Arnold's handsome face, Elizabeth suddenly remembered her only grandson, whom she lost 27 years ago. If he were still alive, his face would definitely be as handsome as the young man in front of her. The Winster family would also not worry about who would be the heir if their grandson was still alive; unfortunately, the whereabouts of the Winster family's only grandson were unknown until now.

"Oh, I almost forgot to ask what your name is and how old you are."

"My name is Arnold, and I am 28 years old, Madam," answered Arnold with a smile.

Elizabeth was stunned. How could the young man in front of her have the same name and the same age as her lost grandson? The woman was silent for a moment, her eyes filled with tears. In that second, her chest felt tight, filled with longing for her beloved only grandson.

“Madam, are you okay?” Arnold's voice interrupted Elizabeth's thoughts. She wiped away her tears that were about to fall.

“I'm sorry, Arnold, but you remind me of my lost grandson. His name is also Arnold, and he is the same age as you.”

Arnold's lips pressed together. He looked at the old woman with eyes full of empathy. He knew very well the feeling of losing family because Arnold didn't even know who his biological parents were until now.

Even when he was a baby, he had to be moved from one orphanage to another in a different city three times because the previous orphanage had closed. Until one day, when he was five years old, a family adopted him.

During the five years of living with his new family, Arnold felt the love of having a family like his biological. They love Arnold with all their hearts. Until one day, their attitude changed 180 degrees when Arnold's adoptive mother became pregnant and the family finally had a biological son.

They became grumpy and easily punished Arnold for small mistakes. It was not uncommon for them to lock Arnold up and not feed him. Until the peak, in winter, they were furious because Arnold accidentally spilled a pot of soup. They dragged little Arnold and threw him out of the house.

Little Arnold walked aimlessly, wearing only thin clothes. It seemed like they deliberately let Arnold freeze to death there. In the middle of a snowstorm, Arnold was unable to continue his steps and finally fainted. On the edge of death, God saved Arnold by sending an angel to him, Liam. The man found Arnold and took him home with him.

Knowing Arnold has no family, Liam decided to take him in, but he didn't adopt him because the Aderwin family was against his decision.

“I hope you can find him soon. I'm sure he really misses his family too, Madam," replied Arnold.

Elizabeth smiled faintly at Arnold's words. She didn't want to add her sadness by talking more about her lost grandson. She looked at Arnold's clothes and found that his white short-sleeved shirt was dirty.

"Arnold, I think it will be better for you to change your clothes," suggested Elizabeth.

"I'll change it when I get home, Madam," responded Arnold.

"You don't need to wait until you get home; I'll ask the servant to bring you clothes."

Elizabeth shook a bell that she always carried, and not long afterward, a servant came to the room.

The servant bowed to Elizabeth.

"Good morning, Madam. What can I do for you?" asked the servant.

“Quickly bring new clothes for Arnold!”

"Alright, madam."

The servant left and not long after, returned there carrying a box containing clothes. He approached Arnold's bed and opened the box.

“These are clothes for you.” He showed him the outfit, and Arnold gasped. Arnold had never worn clothes worth more than 30 dollars in his entire life, and now Elizabeth was giving him expensive designer clothes.

The nurse brought scissors to cut Arnold's clothes because it was difficult to remove them from his body because one hand was in a bandage. She cut off Arnold's shirt, and the man was shirtless.

Elizabeth wanted to leave there, but her gaze accidentally fell on a necklace hanging around Arnold's neck. She narrowed her eyes at the necklace.

“Wait!” Elizabeth stopped the servant, who was about to dress Arnold.

"Yes, madam?" The servant turned to his mistress in wonder.

“Wait a minute, I want to see something.” Elizabeth approached Arnold's bed with her eyes never leaving the necklace Arnold was wearing.

Arnold realized what Elizabeth was looking at, and his hand moved to touch his necklace.

"Sorry, Arnold, where did you get that necklace?" Elizabeth asked.

“I got this necklace as a baby, but I don't know who gave it to me, Madam. I don't have a family, and I don't even know who my parents are," answered Arnold with a faint smile.

Elizabeth was stunned. She was starting to think that Arnold was the grandson she had been looking for, but she wasn't 100 percent sure yet. It was possible that the necklace fell, was found by someone, and ended up in Arnold's.

"You have a unique birthmark, Arnold," said the nurse, looking at the crescent-shaped birthmark on Arnold's left arm.

Elizabeth immediately went to the side of the bed and stood next to the nurse to see the birthmark. She was shocked when she saw Arnold's birthmark. She remembered the birth of her grandson, and as she held him, she saw the crescent moon birthmark on his arm. Just like Arnold's.

"Excuse me, Madam, can you come out for a moment? Arnold will finish changing his clothes, and I will check on him for a moment," the nurse asked softly.

"Okay," said Elizabeth briefly, then she stepped out of the room.

After changing his clothes, Arnold insisted on leaving there immediately. When he got outside the door, Elizabeth stood there waiting for him.

“Madam Elizabeth.” Arnold smiled at the old woman while cupping his palms. “Thank you very much Madam, for your kindness. Now I have to go home because my friend will definitely be waiting for me," he expressed his gratitude.

“Wait, Arnold! I want you to have breakfast with me before you leave," Elizabeth asked.

Arnold wanted to refuse the old woman's request, but he felt uncomfortable doing so.

"Alright, Madam, I would be happy to have breakfast with you." He agreed to Elizabeth's invitation.

They went downstairs and entered a room that was very spacious and magnificent. The entire interior of the room was decorated with gold.

The servants bowed to welcome Elizabeth and Arnold's arrival.

"Wow, I didn't expect there to be such a beautiful dining room in a hospital," chuckled Arnold in awe.

"I deliberately made this room so that my family could comfortably gather here when visiting sick family members," replied Elizabeth.

“This building is truly amazing, madam.”

"Do you like it, Arnold?" Elizabeth looked at the man with a touching smile on her face.

Arnold nodded. "Yes, of course."

“Would you like to have it?” Elizabeth's question made Arnold frown. "I'll give it to you if you want," she continued, making Arnold gasp even more.

“Madam, you don't need to give this building to me. This is your family's private hospital," he refused.

Elizabeth didn't answer, but she just smiled. 'Arnold, let alone this building, even the entire Winster family's wealth will be yours,' she thought.

A servant pulled out a chair for Arnold, and then Arnold sat there. Elizabeth took a seat right next to Arnold.

Arnold swallowed his saliva, looking at all the food served on the table. Almost all the expensive and delicious dishes were there. He started taking the foods one by one and moving them to his plate.

Arnold ate very heartily. He was starving because before he went to work last night, he had not eaten a bite.

"Arnold," Elizabeth's soft voice made Arnold stop eating for a moment. He looked at the old woman with a smile.

“Yes, madam? By the way, the food is really amazing.”

Elizabeth chuckled. “Do you like it? You will have this food every day if you want.”

Elizabeth's words made Leon suddenly silent. He didn't understand why the old woman wanted to give him anything after he said he liked them.

“Madam, you don't need to do that.”

“Arnold, if you don't mind, may I ask about your life?”

Arnold nodded. "Yes, of course, Madam."

“You told me that you didn't know who your family was. So where have you lived all this time?" Elizabeth asked.

Arnold took a deep breath before starting to speak. He told almost everything, every event that happened in his life, including his adoptive parents who kicked him out, the Aderwin family, and his marriage to Rachel.

Elizabeth was shocked and sad to hear Arnold's story. She could imagine Arnold's miserable life all this time. Hearing all this, Elizabeth was 100 percent sure that Arnold was her lost grandson.

Arnold wiped his mouth with a napkin. He had finished eating. It's time for Arnold to say goodbye.

“Madam Elizabeth, thank you very much for your help. I owe you a debt of gratitude, and I don't know what I can do to repay it all. If you hadn't saved me, then I would definitely have died. Now, I have to go, madam. I hope we can meet again another time," conveyed Arnold with a very grateful tone.

"Wait, Arnold!" Elizabeth held Arnold's shoulders and looked at him with teary eyes. “I have found my grandson. He's here now! I want you to meet him first.”

Arnold was surprised and happy to hear Elizabeth's words. “Really, Madam? Oh, Thank God! I'm so glad to hear that. So, where is he now?" He sought.

A servant came into the room carrying a box. She handed the box to Elizabeth.

Arnold looked at the box with a frown. He wanted to meet Elizabeth's grandson, but why was the old woman busy with a box?

“I want to show you this,” Elizabeth conveyed.

“Madam, what about your grandson? Shouldn't we meet him now?”

Elizabeth didn't answer Arnold's question and instead opened the box. She took out a necklace with a pendant that read "Winster," which looked exactly like Arnold's.

"Madam, do you have the same necklace as me?" Arnold’s eyes widened.

“Can you take your necklace off for a moment?” Elizabeth requested.

“Sure, madam.” Arnold immediately took it off and handed it to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth brought the two necklaces closer together, and the crystals on the pendants lit up beautifully.

"You see this, right, Arnold?"

“Yes, madam. I didn't expect that my necklace would be so special. How can my necklace be connected to your necklace?" He was astonished.

“Only members of the Winster family have this necklace. This is a special necklace, specially made just for my family. If we bring two necklaces close together, the crystals will immediately light up.” Elizabeth paused, and tears rolled down her cheeks. She looked at Arnold with teary eyes. “You are my lost grandson, Arnold. You are Arnold Winster!”
