Chapter 003

Several men dressed all in black got out of the car. Arnold's expression immediately changed when he saw that the person who had just arrived was not Albert. With swift steps, they immediately arrested Arnold and forced him into the car.

“Who are you? Why did you arrest me?” Arnold struggled, trying to escape.

“Shut up!”

They covered Arnold's mouth and lifted his body to get into the car. In just a short time, they managed to catch Arnold and take him away from there.

Not long after, Albert arrived there. He got out of the car and looked around to look for Arnold.

“Arnold! Are you here?” Albert exclaimed. "Where is he going? Isn't he here yet?” He didn't see anyone in the park.

Albert took his cell phone and called Arnold.

Arnold's cell phone, which was in his trouser pocket, rang. One of the men took the cell phone to see who was calling Arnold.

“Albert?”

“Let me talk to him! Please, give me the phone!” implored Arnold.

Instead of giving the cellphone to Arnold, the man slammed the cellphone and smashed it.

“No, my phone!” shouted Arnold, looking at his cell phone, which was now destroyed.

'The number you are trying to call is not reachable.' Albert frowned when he heard the operator say that. He moved his phone away from his ear and muttered in surprise. "Why suddenly can't his number be reached?"

Not long after, Albert's cell phone rang again, not from Arnold but from his family. There was a problem at home, and they asked Albert to come home immediately. Reluctantly, Albert left there, even though he still wanted to wait for Arnold.

“Shut up and quickly sign this!” The man shouted at Arnold and handed him a divorce letter.

Arnold looked at the divorce letter and shook his head. “No, I won't sign it,” he insisted.

“Quickly sign this or you will lose your life!” they threatened.

“I won't!” Arnold stood by his decision. He didn't want to give up Rachel for Victor.

They were angry with Arnold and landed a punch on his face until blood flowed from Arnold's nose. It didn't stop there; they hit Arnold's stomach and back until Arnold collapsed helplessly.

“Quickly sign this before you die!” They pulled Arnold's collapsed body and forced him to hold the pen.

“Do it quickly!”

Arnold had no other choice because the men had prepared a punch for him if he refused. His body felt very weak. He didn't have the slightest strength to fight back as the barrage of attacks continued to land on his body.

Arnold finally signed the divorce papers. They smiled with satisfaction, seeing that the letter had been officially signed.

"Our boss Victor must be so happy to see this!"

“We will definitely get a bonus from him for our good work.”

Arnold's breathing was irregular. He looked around him with blurry vision, until finally the man fainted.

"Look at this loser, it looks like he's dead," exclaimed one of the men.

He put his finger under Arnold's nose and found that Arnold was still breathing. "No, he's still alive."

“We have to throw him away before anyone sees us.” They stopped the car on a quiet street.

They threw Arnold's body to the side of the road and immediately left him. Arnold's eyes opened slowly, and he stared at his surroundings with his gaze still blurry.

"Where am I?" Arnold asked. His hands moved to feel around him, and he found no one else around. He felt like he was no longer in the car. “That means they've dumped me here,” he muttered.

With a weak voice, Arnold began to cry out for help. “Please, help me!”

There was no one to help Arnold because nobody was there. This street was an alternative road that was rarely used by people, so it seemed impossible for anyone to pass through that road in the middle of the night like this.

Arnold's body weakened again. He felt unable to endure. If he was going to die tonight, then Arnold had given up. "I'm sorry, Mr. Liam, I can't fulfill my promise to take care of Rachel," he said in a weak voice. Arnold's eyes closed, and he fainted again.

A luxury car drove down the quiet street. A 70-year-old woman grumbled at her driver.

"We shouldn't have gone down this road. This street is very quiet and looks scary," complained Elizabeth Winster, who had just returned from attending her friend's party.

“I'm so sorry, madam. I've never been down this road before. But I'm sure this is the right way," replied the driver.

The car went into the street area where Arnold's body lay. The car's headlights hit Arnold's face, and they were shocked.

“Madam, there is a corpse on this street!” The driver exclaimed in surprise.

“A corpse? Are you kidding?"

“No, madam. Look, there's a man lying on the street.”

Elizabeth looked outside the car and saw Arnold. "Stop!" she ordered.

Actually, Elizabeth was afraid to see Arnold, but somehow her heart told her to stop and look at him for a moment.

The driver stopped the car 3 meters from where Arnold was lying. “Madam, why are you telling me to stop?”

Elizabeth's gaze was fixed on Arnold. "I want you to check on that man!"

"Are you serious, Madam?"

“Quickly look at him!” Elizabeth spoke in a higher tone.

“Yes, madam.” The man obeyed Elizabeth's orders and got out of the car to see Arnold's condition.

Elizabeth also got out of the car to see the man's condition. She looked at Arnold's face with concern. “Poor young man.”

"Madam, he is alive," said the driver after checking Arnold.

“Good. Quickly get him into the car!”

Elizabeth's order made the driver frown. “Sorry, but I don't think bringing him with us is a good idea. What if he is a criminal?” he argued.

“And what if it turns out he was the victim of a hit-and-run? Looking at his face, I don't think he's a criminal," Elizabeth insisted.

The driver looked around and saw no signs of anyone else there.

"Okay, Madam, I will take him into the car." Reluctantly, he obeyed his mistress's orders.

Arnold was taken into the car. Throughout the way, Elizabeth continued to look at him with concern. She was so sure that Arnold was not a criminal, just like her heart said.

They immediately took Arnold to a private hospital owned by the Winster family. The hospital was only used by the Winster family and was not open to the public.

The next day, Arnold slowly opened his eyes and looked around in confusion. His vision, which was initially blurry, slowly returned to normal. Looking at the roof of the hospital room, Arnold was sure that he wasn't lying on the street anymore.

"Where am I? And Albert? I have to meet him immediately.” Arnold sat up and was about to get out of bed, but the nurse came and stopped him.

“Where are you going?” asked the nurse as she walked closer to Arnold. "You're in the hospital."

“I have to go now to meet my friend. He must be waiting for me," said Arnold.

“No, you still have to rest. You're still weak." The nurse calmed Arnold and laid him back down.
