A stem of rage shot up inside Candyce as soon as she heard the voice. There were two major reasons why she was getting so mad.

The first was because she had just heard the voice of a lady. As if that was not enough, the lady had proceeded to use endearing words and remarks to address Slade.

She started to think of who the caller could be. The caller had just talked about some party.

She could recall vividly that she and Slade were on their way to a birthday party! Could the organiser of this party be calling Slade?

Could it really be the perfume girl? Candyce was having a hard time coming to terms with her thoughts.
