Ivy did not respond immediately and Jake desperately needed to feel alive. He left his house in search of Ivy. As he stepped his foot outside, he saw the car that Amanda's father had gotten for him but he had lost all interest in driving such a car. He would wait till Amanda came back and took the car with her. He ordered a taxi instead and instructed the man to drop him off at Ivy's house. Shock is an understatement of what Jake felt when he saw the pictures of his wife in Ivy's wardrobe. What hooked him the most was that her face was marked with a red marker. Jake drove with speed and every so often, he would look back, afraid that Ivy was following him or that he was walking into a trap. After all, Ivy was a secret detective. The hospital walls felt empty as Jake walked back to Amanda's room. He saw no one in sight and listened to none of their talks.
