The Date

Jake couldn't stand her tears. For some reason, it broke his heart to see her in such a state. She looked so helpless, it was something that he hadn't seen in a long time. His eyes narrowed as he observed her break down in front of him. It didn't look appealing to him and he was left with no other choice than to walk to her side and console her.

"Can you please stop crying? This isn't worth your tears, honestly. Okay, I'm sorry for what I said."

"It's not even about what you said. You are correct, I can't cook to save a life and now I almost killed you cause of my recklessness."

"It's okay. I know you only meant well. How about we go out and get something to eat? How does that sound?" Amanda's face lit up like the fourth of July.

"That sounds wonderful," she said.
