CHAPTER 10

That night, Leon returned to the hospital. Due to the stress of the surgery, he still couldn't enter the intensive care unit and could only stand outside watching over it.

Seeing Edith lying in the hospital bed with various monitoring devices and a ventilator, like a vegetable, Leon couldn't help but feel heartbroken, especially when he thought of Edith and what had happened in between. He was even more indignant.

If it weren't for Lewis's appearance, perhaps Leon would never have known about his background!

Of course, Leon fully understood why Edith had hidden the truth for so many years! Because no one else would be able to bear taking care of their flesh and blood and then recognizing the irresponsible and heartless man from the past!

But at the same time, it was also because of this that Leon could better understand the hardships Edith had gone through over the years, and that he was Edith's last reliance!

So Leon had such a big change as if he had suddenly awakened overnight! To be precise, Leon not only wanted to regain everything that belonged to him, but also to fight fiercely for Edith, and to let Edith step into the Arrison family's door with dignity one day!

Standing outside the ward, Arrison Leon felt heavy-hearted. After thinking it over, he still couldn't rest assured, so he went into the hospital director's office. Alin Dean hadn't left work yet.

When he saw Leon come in, he quickly got up to greet him. "Director Dean, when will my mother wake up?" Leon asked directly.

"The surgery was successful, but we still need to continue observing. Young Master Leon, you can rest assured that there shouldn't be any problems, but we're afraid that… she may be affected by external factors," Alin Dean suddenly frowned and his tone changed.

"External factors? My mother is staying in the ward. How could she be affected by external factors?" Leon looked puzzled.

"There's bad news, I have to tell Young Master Leon. Beatrice will arrive in Cuba tomorrow, claiming to come to see me for medical treatment, but I suspect it's not that simple. Most likely, she's coming for you, Alin Dean said, shocking Leon.

"For me?" Leon's face darkened as he instantly understood. Alin Dean lowered his voice and explained, "Young Master Arrison Leon, don't underestimate Beatrice's abilities. If she wants to harm you or do something to Edith, she won't hold back and won't leave any evidence behind."

"There are too many people and too many prying eyes in the hospital. I suggest we move to a safer place tonight. That's why I'm still here so late. I've already prepared everything for you," Alin Dean said, showing his concern for Leon.

Leon wasn't a fool and could naturally hear Alin Dean's good intentions. "Dr. Dean, thank you!" Meanwhile, in the Emily Villa area. Emily was pacing back and forth in the villa, her face full of regret.

"How did things turn out like that?"

"Leon is the heir of Panama in the Arrison family. It's over, we've offended him to death!" "Lex, you bastard, it's all your fault. If you hadn't been instigating me, I wouldn't have ended up in this mess. Leon must hate me now!" Emily collapsed on the ground, crying like a shrew, full of complaints, with no trace of her Chairman demeanor.

"Sis, you can't blame me for this. It was you who disagreed with Leon in the first place, and I just went along with you. If you had agreed, how could I have gone against you?" Lex's mouth twitched, his expression extremely helpless.

"At this critical moment, you still want to shirk responsibility. I picked the wrong person. With a brother like you, I'm doomed to be unlucky for eight lifetimes!" Emily cursed and grumbled.

Emerald sat on the sofa, unable to bear the surrounding noise any longer. "Can you guys stop arguing? I told you before, but you didn't believe me and kept thinking highly of Leon," she said.

"Now that the truth is out, you're acting like this, crying and making a scene. It's just an act, isn't it? You're trying to make me speak well of you in front of Leon." Emily moved closer and said, "Emerald, now only you can help us restore our image in front of Leon. You know how capable he is, he can help us succeed. We must make our impression!"

"So you're only thinking about success?" Emerald was furious. Lex said without any shame, "Emerald, Leon couldn't make it to the top before, but now it's different. He's much better than Simpson, a thousand times better. When you marry him, he'll benefit. So we must fix our impression!" Emily looked anxious.

"Yes, we were going to buy the company. If Leon gets angry and doesn't buy it, what should we do? We must find a way to merge with him!"

"After all this time, you still don't know where you went wrong. You only know how to judge people by money. I don't have the time to help you. You'll have to deal with Leon when he comes tomorrow," Emerald said, angry and in pain, and went into her room without looking back. Emily and Lex looked at each other.

"Sister, Emerald is not going to help us this time. According to Leon's personality, we might not get any benefit in the future, and we might not even be able to sell the company," Leon said, annoyed.

"We'll just have to take matters into our own hands and get a big sum of money from him!" Emily gritted her teeth. "How?" Lex became interested.

"Tomorrow, we'll invite all our relatives and talk about the dowry in front of them. We'll ask for a sky-high dowry!" Emily said firmly. "We must follow the proper procedures for marriage, especially for such a big family. We can't afford to be impolite!" Lex swallowed hard, his breathing becoming rapid.

"How much dowry do you plan to ask for?" he asked Emily crossed her fingers and made a gesture, "At least... ten billion!"

"Ten billion??" Lex was shocked. It is worth noting that although Diva Construction Company is a second-tier company in Panama, its overall value does not exceed ten billion. After all, Cuba is just a suburban city in Diva Province, far from the center.

Ten billion is enough for the siblings to live a life of luxury until they die!

Emily gave Lex a disdainful look and said confidently, "Ten billion is just a dowry. I think it's too little. Of course, it all depends on Leon's attitude."
