Chapter 9 : Ranks, Explained

Silvers felt that Spike would really be lured by Borg's offer, so he rushed over to take the man's hand and asked him out of the place right now. "You shouldn't agree with them, Spike…."

"Yes… You don't have to accept it. But I need to know how much of a coward you really are."

Spike turned around to hold Borg's neck with great threat. Borg followers are certainly on the alert, they don't want to make any noise at all, much less under the guards' surveillance now. No one knows what might happen when Spike gets really mad.

"Silent… If you're going to say those words again… cowards… Then I'll make your head stick to the ground."

Borg didn't feel threatened at all, he smiled in amazement at Spike's reaction to such bravery. He stretches his arms out to get his men to behave themselves right now.

"Hahahaha… Even when we first met. You’re amused me. Then why don't we start the duel today?"

"Spike! Stop that! You're still weak!" Silver said, trying to break.

"I will not stand idly by as my pride is played by a garbage figure like him!" Spike's reply with high tone

No matter what Spike was saying, he went back and forth to pull the man out of the room.

"Hey! - what are you doing!"

They went back into the cafeteria. The prisoner's stare still lurks and follows wherever Spike goes now. He's like an enemy to these people…

Walking quickly enough around Spike's hand, Silver carried the spike right onto a large screen in the middle of the cafeteria with the sign "Ranks”

"Whatever you think works in the real world, is not working in this place right now. Look at your condition, you think fighting Gorlocks is enough to defeat Borg?!" Yelled Silver at the Spike.

"He challenged me first. I wouldn't deny it for some cowardly reason. Wait, is that what you might call the coward?"

Silver let out a tired sigh. He's just trying to keep Spike here long enough. But if he continues to act that way, Spike likely won't be able to live very long.

"I don't care what they call me. And yet I want to show you something. Look at the rankings table on this display of exaltation."

On the screen, there was a string of names with their rank on the right. That position, however, was filled only by a mere 250-150.

"Wait, I think this prison contains more than that, but why are there only 100 names here? "Spike asked silver.

"Yes, the display contains only the rank of the prisoners with the title 'crooks'. It's the lowest rank the prisoners can get at this place. You and I were in this position right now…”

The screen in the cafeteria area was large enough to allow the other prisoners to see what they were doing in the middle of the room now. Some of them smile when they see their name or friends on the title.

"’Warriors' ranks up through 151-75. The average prisoner in this rank has had long experience in this prison. Their powers are already beyond normal human limits." Silver continues to explain his next rank

“At position 74-35, entitled ‘Fighters'. Their powers are completely beyond normal human reason in this place. And they tend to store up their strength for use in the fight. The reason is simple: they don't want their opponents to know their own ultimate power.”

Spike is kind of understanding why Silver is starting to try to explain all the ranks to him. Because chances are, Borg are way above his own rank.

"Next, at the rank of 'ace' they are the strongest fighters in the prison who are determined to fill out the blanks above them. I don't know if anyone has ever filled out the next title. Because it's impossible to imagine entering 'Ace'. Final title, 10-1 is ‘Champions'"

"Why are you giving me all this information? I'll win if I beat them all one by one, won't I?"

"I'm not finished. If you plan to fight Borg, then there will be unfair power reasons. You can't possibly win against him even if your technique or power is better. Borg, Is now in number 20, Ace."

Spike was so surprised. He doesn't really know how strong a title an ace can have, but just imagining the rank and rank makes her feel really tired.

"I'm not afraid. Did you see what my iron fist can do with those Gorlocks? I'll finish him off easily…”

Silver breathed heavily again, exhausted. "Sorry, spike. But if you're using Gorlock as a measure, you're still nothing compared to him."

"What do you mean? They were all cheering me on happily because I had defeated an impossible monster to defeat, weren't they?" Spike follows reply.

"Not Spike. If those monsters can be placed in rank, then Gorlocks are only as good as a prisoner with a rank of 200. You, in no way, have reached the level of Borg figure with your powers now. The reason they cheer you up there is because they are truly amused by your appearance. They haven't seen anything like that in a long time."

"Huh what do you mean?" Spike asked in confusion.

"Yes, you should be dead. In fact, this prison considers you a defective product. Do you realize that the power you possess is not natural or genetic? Your power comes from that sophisticated technology in your hand! You're different from the rest of us. You're a prisoner of unique powers!" Silver answered

"That's why… Borg are interested in me right? "Spike replied that began to understand what the person really wanted.

"Therefore, Spike, this is for your own sake. Don't take that guy's offer. You'll only make your life further into hell, ultimately."

There was a clatter and a siren in the canteen. Spike and Silver turn around, they're trying to figure out what's going on.

"Hey look! They're going to start it!"

"I haven't seen an Ace fight in a long time!"

The crowd of prisoners are looking in the window right now. It's like something's going on in the arena.

"Silver what's going on?" Said spike.

"I don't know, but it looks like there's a duel right now"

Silver looked at the screen again, and the really big writing filled the display screen on
