Chapter 8 : Black Boss

Silver and spike are in the atrium. That place is a section that looks different from anywhere else in the prison. There are so many ornaments and beautifully crafted things here like a place to relax.

They were at the end of the room, a balcony with a boundary of railing and clear glass. They can both see the arena Spike was fighting before from there.

"What are we doing here? If you think this place is any safer, take a look! There are still many machine-brain guards here!"

"No, I didn't bring you here because I took you away from the guards, I'm trying to keep the scum and those inmate out of your sight." Point silver at the people in the orange jumpsuits.

"You may have learned your lesson in the underworld. If you can't trust anyone, maybe even yourself. And that, applies in this place of distinction"

Spike muttered, answering Silver. "What did I do wrong? I'm still holding on to it. The scum took my food without permission. And shouldn't I be hitting them?"

 Silver breathed his breath tired.

"Besides, if you really say that, shouldn't I trust you?" Spike ask again.

"That's right, you can't trust me. But at least listen to what I'm about to tell you now."

According to Silves, he wasn't in this prison that long ago. Nearly a few months before Spike was jailed, he was already here. But during that time, he could almost figure out what was going on in this place.

It's a special prison, where Hudson or the people behind him are conducting vile experiments on humans. Hudson or whoever it is is trying to make a special human being.

Silver himself could not remember very well about his memory or his past, but he was convinced the reason the memory loss was because of the experiment. And silvers believed that the people locked up here were the ones who had survived the experiments.

But Hudson still wasn't satisfied with it all, he tried to select the human experimentation by trying to give them all in one container, fighting each other to find out who was the strongest.

After that, silver still doesn't know what Hudson's next move is.

"If that's the case, what's your power? "Spike asked

Silvers held his own hair. Surprisingly, his hair grew long rapidly and was able to move to and there and here. The tip of that hair also became sharp as a knife.

"This may look cool, but I'm not a fighter."

"Not a fighter? What do you mean? Isn't the way to fight this place is to fight? If not fight, how do you still survive in this place?”

"No, sorry. I'm not that I can't fight, but I'm not a man who can fight another man. Hudson provided an alternative means for people like me to survive. Which is to kill the monsters…."

Spike has a little understanding. Maybe the monster that Silver refers to is like the Gorlocks that he faced before him.

"There are two types of fights in this place. A fight with a fellow inmate, the benefit you're going to take is increasing and replacing the rank with someone you've outdone. If it's a monster, then you'll get credit points and some gear that'll help you fight. Some prisoners choose to fight monsters in order to make them more powerful than they used to be.

"Let me guess, you're now in the bottom rank because you haven't beaten a prisoner?"

"Yes I do, my rank is 230 now. People call me Silvers the coward"

Hearing that, spike is a little confused with Silver right now. He didn't know what motivation Silver didn't want to fight the other prisoners when it was one way to get out of this place. Spike's convinced there's something this guy is hiding from him.

Suddenly from the atrium gate. A big tall figure came up with a few people behind him. He wore glasses of implants as well as very large arm muscles. Spike got a little intimidated when he saw him, he felt something’s wrong with this man.

"Hello, spike the iron fist. I've been dying to meet you since what you did the other day..."

The closer the guy gets, the more Spike walk away. He's taking Silver's advice correctly not to make his emotions moody right now.

"Who are you? What do you want from me?"

"You're the new boy, I forgot that you might not introduce yourself. May I present to you. I am Borg, The Trolls. I want you to join our group. The Hordes."

"What will I get if I join you?" Spike asked

"You will have strength, security, and comfort. Anything you want, you can have it at The Hordes."

"If I ask for freedom, can I get it?" Ask Spike.

Borg laughed, with the prisoners behind him laughing.

"I don't know what the coward told you. And yet you're better stay in this prison. No one is expecting you home, listening to your sad story, or opening a door for you. Whoever you think you care about has been eliminated by that man permanently."

"I'm sorry, but we have different goals. I want to get out of this place. I don't care if you think I'm an empty dream. Sorry…"

Politely denied it, Spike and Silver tried to walk out, which is the only door that is the Borg and they are all in right now.

Borg blocked Spike's path and knocked him back into the room.

"I saw you in the arena. You beat those Gorlocks like they're bags. Even my own men have a hard time taking down one of them. Tell me, who gave you that super-strong iron arm?

Hearing that, Spike was confused. He looked over at silvers, thinking he might know something. Silvers shook his head, he didn't know what the borg were talking about.

"I don't understand. Let me out, I want to eat now…"

“Hold on, now. I may have made a mistake, but that wasn't an offer. I'm curious about that iron hand you're wearing. And I'm sure that iron fist could be used by anyone other than yourself."

Spike feels terrified, he's in danger right now.

"I'll tell you what. I challenge you to a duel with me. A duel to the death. Whoever wins it gets the power of his opponent. Do you agree?"
