Sovereign's Descent

"Where the hell is this?" Sovereign Yen questioned himself as he opened his eyes to stare at the black spacious room he found himself in.

Like the void itself, he could tell its beginning nor end. He couldn't even tell up from down as he simply floated amid this expansive space.

Caught between confusion and surprise, he was met with the most bizarre thing he had encountered ever encountered.

Ding!

A white panel popped up in front of him.

{Name: Yen Khan

Title: Sovereign of Existence

Age: 329,003 Years

Status: Dead (Pending?)...}

As he read through the foreign words on the panel which he somehow understood, he had to stop when he saw his status. His death was pending?

What the hell did that even mean?

The panel's content continued.

{...Your soul was detected right before your death and was summoned here by the Supreme One…}

'And who might that be?' Sovereign Yen asked himself.

{... The Supreme One watched your sacrifice to protect his creations from a mistake he had made and decided that he couldn't let you die…}

"Oh, so this so-called Supreme One was the cause of all this from the start? Why couldn't he just destroy them since he made them?" Sovereign Yen spoke out questioning what wasn't there.

Unfortunately, he would get no response.

{... The Supreme One decided to give you a second chance at life and see how you'll grow to become stronger than your current self.

Regretfully, your body was destroyed along with your dantian, your energy core.

As the Supreme One couldn't do much lest he interferes with fate and unseen laws, he could only grant you this opportunity.

With the aid of this system, The Supreme System, the Supreme One wishes for you to rise from the bottom once more and surpass what you know to be the peak at an even faster rate…}

'Huh? From the bottom? What the heck do you mean from the bottom? It took me tens of thousands of years to rise to this level and somehow, you want me to do it even faster this time?'

{As long as you do not die, this system will aid your rise to power and glory once more.

Currently, the system is searching through the three thousand worlds to find a host that matches your soul so it can begin transferring your consciousness as only with a body can your rise begin.

Loading…}

"Transfer my consciousness? How does that work? Do I possess a new body?"

His questions were met with another notification.

Ding!

{Host Found!

Name: Yen Khan…}

'Same name.' The name of the host caught his attention, making him read through the contents even more attentively.

{Age: 24 Years

Title: Heir to the Khan Family, Husband of Qing Wuhan of the Wuhan Family…

Status: Dead

Location: Earth (With a drawing)

Background: Chased by the family of his wife with the backing of his wife who didn't want anything to do with him, Yen Khan is met with an assassination from an assassin hired by the Wuhan Family but everything isn't what it seems to be.

More information will be available after the Transfer…}

Just beneath the 'Location' on the panel was a picture of Yen Khan and Sovereign Yen kept staring at it in disbelief.

"What is a picture of a younger version of me doing here?"

While speaking, he was unaware that the transfer process had begun.

"So I just have to transfer my consciousness and I get more information on this individual that bears a similar name as me?"

He looked around him and all he could see was darkness.

"How do I transfer?" He asked himself.

Ding!

{Transfer in progress.}

Then everything went black like a television that was switched off.

The only way Sovereign Yen could tell he was alive was the fact that he could still feel himself.

This feeling progressed for over five minutes before he heard another notification sound.

Ding!

{Transfer Completed.}

Sovereign Yen opened his eyes to a different place.

Instead of the black room that extended infinitely, all he could see was a clear blue sky with clouds lined beautifully.

"I think it's done." Sovereign Yen spoke as if he hadn't heard the notification telling him the same thing.

Realization hit him as he remembered he had now gained a new body and he noticed this body was lying on the ground. He rose to a sitting position and observed his new body.

His legs were the first that came into view as could count five toes on each leg. When his hands did come into view and he could see it, he was shaken to find blood on it.

He looked down on himself and found his white robe stained with blood all over with the blood even more concentrated on his chest area.

'He was stabbed.' Sovereign Yen came to a conclusion.

"This individual who bears the same name as me was stabbed. In the heart."

"By who though? I wouldn't mind taking revenge for him as a means of repayment for this body that looks exactly like mine." Sovereign Yen spoke as he rose to his feet and dusted the dirt off his body.

"Uhmm." He muttered as he tried something that should've been overly easy.

Using his qi, he wished to expel all dirt and smell from his body but nothing worked. Simply because this body had no dantian so not the slightest bit of qi could be found in him.

The words written on the panel before crossed his mind.

"It said bottom but this isn't the bottom. This is below the bottom! Damn, you, Supreme One or whatever!" Sovereign Yen ended up cursing.

Ding!

Hearing the notification sound in his head again, he grumbled. "What is it this time?"

{Memory syncing will now begin…}

"Huh?" He asked, confused by the notification. Before he could even process what it meant, he felt electricity course through his brain.

"Ugh." He moaned in slight pain.

Another was felt. And then another.

"Ugh! Blegh…" He fell to his knees and began puking due to the discomfort his whole body felt.

After a minute of vomiting, until he could go no further, he gained control over himself again.

As a wave of hunger crashed down on him, lots of memories that weren't his flooded his brain.

'These are Yen's memories.' Sovereign Yen thought.

"Thankfully, he has an abnormally large pool of soul energy. I'll just seal these memories so I can go through them later." The Sovereign spoke with a weak smile.

Soul energy was an energy that dealt with the soul of anyone. It was the one energy owned by all beings, cultivator or not. It was the reason certain normal people could evade mental attacks from cultivators while others couldn't.

Yen then proceeded to seal the memories of the previous owner of the body unaware of the fact that the new influx of memories contained new information about the system that had made this possible.

This act took the last bit of energy he had and his stomach protested loudly.

"Memories can come later. Right now, I need food."
