(Catherine’s perspective along with Salina's)

I was stunned and moved towards Salina after culling all of the wolves on the sort of watch. When I gradually closed the distance between myself and Salina; the scene I witnessed left me pale and paralyzed. In my heavy breathing and exhaustion, I forgot to ponder how Salina may have felt while watching me fight for both of us and betting my life on the line.

Salina was trembling in the bushes while curling herself and clenching the knife I gave her tightly. The shivers in her body were vigorous and dynamic as if the fear had seeped deep into her heart.

I gazed at her for a while and even felt helpless since I had no idea how to comfort her. When I found no satisfying answer in my heart, I ghastly ran towards her and carried her up with a tight hug.

I somehow comforted her and didn't let go until she calmed down and her shivers faded. For a while, I also noticed a few tears in her eyes, as if she felt guilty for not aiding me in fighting th
