As we moved forward into the darkness, the dense and thick forest became even more eerie than earlier. The aloof fear shrouding the surroundings and gradually creeping over us intensified with each passing second.

From that point, I took the front, and Salina directed me from behind. I hurried through the branches and bushes, while Salina followed me slowly and tried not to fall on the ground from the chill.

The more silence we encountered, the more intimidated our senses became. It was challenging to even peer far ahead a few steps in that density of darkness and trees. After a few more steps, Salina pulled me back with a jerk.

Before I could ask her out loud the reason for her action, she put a finger on her mouth and gestured to me not to speak a word aloud. Without even a slight sound, she pointed in a direction and told me to avoid that part.
