Can Tony Really Get the 2 Million Dollars?

At Josh's core family home. Lunchtime.

All family members gathered at the dining table, except Tony.

About two hours ago, Tony left to take care of paying the two million dollar compensation f*e that Bobby requested yesterday.

“Your husband's brain seems completely damaged, Jade. He thought he could get 2 million dollars out of thin air? It is impossible. Even your father might not be able to get it," said Sasha.

Jade didn't respond to her mother's words, just looked down as she continued eating her lunch.

In fact, she didn't even understand what Tony was thinking. Before leaving, Tony assured her not to worry, and that he would transfer what Bobby requested according to the agreement.

What made Jade confused was that the look in Tony's eyes radiated high confidence, and she knew her husband wasn't joking.

But, where would he get the money? Thinking about this made Jade get a headache. The lunch dish that was actually delicious felt bland on her tongue.

"We'd better start preparing now," said Josh suddenly.

"Preparing what, Dad?" Josephine asked.

“Your sister's divorce document. That trash certainly couldn't raise two million dollars in a week, right? The result is clear. He will lose the bet and on that day I will throw him out of our house. We'd better prepare now," said Josh.

Jade choked. She even had to drink a full glass of water to push out the food stuck in his esophagus.

Then she looked at Josh, saying, “Dad, don't decide it so easily yet. We don't know what will happen next. Tony could have managed to get the money."

"Huh? Are you kidding me, Jade? How good do you think your trash husband is, that he can earn 2 million dollars in one week? I told you, even your father might not be able to get it!” Sasha argued.

Josh glanced at Sasha irritably. He knew that his wife did not mean to belittle him, but he was offended because it seemed as if Sasha doubted his ability to lead his own family.

But he ignored his annoyance first. Drinking some water, he then looked at Jade.

"Jade, I know you don't like seeing your husband humiliated by Bobby yesterday in front of the extended family, but please try to be a little bit realistic. Do you still want to maintain your household with trash like him? He even dared to make you the object of a bet that he can't win. Didn't you realize that?” Josh said.

Actually, Jade also realized that. It's just that, seeing how Tony was so sure he could win his bet with Bobby, Jade thought that her husband might have a plan that she or her family would never think of.

But Jade admitted it’s still a gamble for her. She was still worried that yesterday Tony acted like that because he was provoked by Bobby's words, and he didn't have any plan at all.

Either way, right now all she could do was wait. Tony said he might be out for a while because he had something to take care of. Tony did not explain what business he meant.

About an hour after lunch. Jade was now in his bedroom. She just checked her cell phone for the twelfth time in two minutes.

Still no news from Tony. She started to worry. What if Tony didn't actually leave but ran away? What if he would never return to this house again?

“No, Jade. Your husband is not that jerk. You have to trust him,” she argued, talking to herself while staring at his reflection in the mirror.

But she couldn't shake off her worry. He checked his cell phone again, even though it clearly wasn't ringing or vibrating.

Knock! Knock!

“Sis, Bobby just came. You hurry up and meet him. He's waiting for you outside," said Josephine after knocking on Jade's room’s door.

Jade sighed. Yesterday at the party Bobby said that this afternoon he would stop by to visit. But, to be honest, she didn’t want to meet that arrogant man.

“Come out quickly, Jade. Don't keep Bobby waiting so long. Soon he will be your husband," said Sasha, loudly.

Jade chuckled in annoyance. Wouldn't Bobby, who was in outside, be able to hear it if her mother said it that loudly?

Sometimes she couldn't understand why the people in his house didn't think about what she felt. They seemed to only think about themselves.

But Tony was different. At least, he showed her that he cared about her.

Sighing again, Jade then got out of bed and went out to meet Bobby.

Outside, Bobby was seen leaning against his luxury car. He wore a dapper suit and held a black rectangular box in his hand.

He smiled and took off his sunglasses as Jade appeared.

“How are you, Jade? Did you sleep well last night?" Bobby asked, making small talk.

“What do you want, Bobby? Aren't you busy? Shouldn't you still be at the office at this hour?" Jade asked back.

"A CEO like me doesn't have to be in the office all the time, Jade. I have employees I can rely on. Besides, I'm here for something that is no less important than business matters," answered Bobby, walking up the stairs.

Jade looked at Bobby in embarrassment. She didn’t like it when someone openly bragged about themselves in front of him.

“Here, Jade. I brought this for you," said Bobby after arriving upstairs.

"What's this?"

“The replacement for the gift necklace that was broken yesterday. The value is not much different from what that bastard Tony destroyed yesterday."

“Bobby, watch your mouth! Tony is my husband after all!”

"Okay, okay. Sorry. I didn't mean to make you annoyed. Come on, just open the box.”

Jade opened the black rectangular box, and a necklace studded with diamonds dazzled her.

“Put it on, Jade. It definitely suits you. Or do you want me to put it on you?" Bobby offered.

“No need, Bobby. No need," Jade quickly refused.

She looked at the necklace Bobby had given her. Truly a beautiful necklace. If only Tony had given it to her, she would have tried it while examining herself in front of the mirror.

A moment later she smiled while shaking his head. That's too grandiose. It was really too high of an expectation.

"Sorry, Bobby, I can't accept your gift," Jade said, closing the box again and handing it to Bobby.

"What’s wrong? You don't like the model? I can replace it with another model. Just tell me what style of necklace you want," said Bobby.

“That's not what I meant.”

"Then what?"

"I cannot accept jewelry as luxurious and expensive as this from a man who is not my husband."

A moment of silence. Then, Bobby laughed.

"You mean, you hope that your lousy husband can give you jewelry as luxurious and expensive as this? Geez, Jade, you don't seem to know how useless your husband is. Never mind buying jewelry like this, he can't even buy you a ring that costs less than five thousand dollars. What do you expect from him, Jade?” Bobby fussed.

Jade pursed her lips and looked at Bobby in annoyance, hoping that Bobby would realize that what he had just said made her uncomfortable.

However, Bobby laughed again and continued making fun of his husband.

"You know, Jade, I have prepared many other luxurious things for you if you want to be my wife. I even plan to buy a small island for us to live on together. There, you can enjoy natural beauty that you will not find anywhere else. There's no way your poor husband can give you such a luxury, right?"

“Enough, Bobby!”

“I'm just trying to make you understand, Jade. I'm much better than Tony. I can give you so many things that Tony can't give you! Just leave that trash behind!"

Jade was really angry. She couldn’t stand that Bobby continued to say bad things about her husband.

And she was about to slap Bobby hard when Tony appeared and said loudly, "Didn't I just remind you not to bother my wife anymore, Bobby?! Do you want me to beat you to death, huh?"

Jade looked to her right, seeing Tony coming with clenched fists and angry eyes.
