As Victor and Selene drove back to their safehouse, the atmosphere in the car was tense. The ancient tome lay on the seat between them, its dark cover etched with symbols that seemed to shift and writhe in the dim light of the car.

Victor glanced at Selene, his eyes reflecting the concern he felt. “We need to analyze this as soon as possible. There’s no telling what kind of power it holds or what the ritual was meant to achieve.”

Selene nodded, her gaze fixed on the tome. “Agreed. The energy from it was unlike anything I’ve felt before. It’s ancient, and whatever it’s tied to could be very dangerous.”
