Fredrick's heart sank as he felt the weight of Nora and Aliyah's accusatory stares. They had overheard his phone conversation with his father. He braced himself for their wrath, knowing he had inadvertently caused their anger.

Nora's voice sliced through the tension like a knife. "How could you, Fredrick?" she cried out, her eyes flashing with indignation.

Fredrick held up his hands in a gesture of defense. "Wait, let me explain, Aunt Nora," he pleaded, hoping to quell their anger before it escalated further. But his words seemed to fall on deaf ears as Aliyah's glare intensified.

Aliyah crossed her arms over her chest, her expression cold and unforgiving. "Explain what, Fredrick?" she retorted, her voice dripping with disdain. "That you were scheming behind our backs?"

Fredrick felt a pang of guilt as he realized the extent of their disappointment in him. "No, it's not like that," he insisted, desperation creeping into his voice. "I was just... trying to handle things my way."
