Eleanor's face was all smiles; she was enjoying what she was doing. How could a mere civilian cheat on her general?
She took it personally and upon herself to humiliate and cause misunderstanding to Diana and the overweight man standing beside her.
Dominic wasn't interested; he just wanted to leave and contemplate his life although there was a sly grin that appeared at his chin as Eleanor humilates Diana. But it left as quickly as it came. He looked at Eleanor, and for a moment, he didn't recognize her. He had never seen this side of her. So, he gently pushed her hand away, eager to get out of there.
Eleanor still held his hand, unwilling to let them further humiliate her general. She was prepared for them.
“Stand down, Captain,” Dominic ordered coldly. Eleanor's face immediately changed. She released his hand but stood beside him she didn’t expect him to reprimand her.
Frank watched closely. "Who could this beauty be, and why was she so clingy around this loser?" He immediately left Diana's waist where his hand had been. He was obviously consumed by jealousy.
He kind of forgot about Diana for a bit because this new girl grabbed all his attention. He couldn't believe how silly Dominic was being. This pretty lady was interested, and Dominic was saying no! Maybe she was from a rich family...
Anyway, if Dominic wanted to act like a fool, he thought he'd take advantage and win the girl for himself.
Since he's the rich guy, he moved closer to Eleanor, trying to chat her up. "I might not be her dad, but I could be something much more impor..."
“Get out,” Eleanor barked with fierce anger and coldness that shocked Frank.
Frank reluctantly retreated, surprised at how cold she seemed, as if she were some sort of military personnel. He suddenly felt really embarrassed.
He quickly stepped back, to Diana's side, who was visibly angry and shooting him irritated looks. She expected him to pick her up from the law firm and show off in front of everyone, especially Dominic, to prove she had better options now.
Instead of making him jealous, he was being an idiot and trying to flirt with another girl, almost like he had a mission to embarrass her further. She grabbed Frank's hand, and was about to leave when she abruptly stopped staring at Eleanor who was approaching her.
Eleanor stepped further toward Diana, clearly intimidating her with every move. “How shameless of you. You have no idea what you've missed just because of how gullible you are.”
Diana, attempting not to show she was intimidated, reacted, “How dare yo…” Eleanor cut her off with a swift and resounding slap that left Frank speechless.
No one, including Diana expected that slap; she staggered in humiliation. “That's for disrespecting the general commander of Victoria,” Diana winced in pain as she held her burning cheeks.
"So filthy, how dare you cheat on my general. Is that how you repay his love?" Eleanor voiced with disgust evident in her tone.
If Dominic wouldn't react, she wasn't going to fold her hands and witness someone disrespect their general. Not even a soldier in Victoria would tolerate this. She had lost her cool and was seething with anger.
She felt like taking Diana to a dungeon, where she would teach her the lesson of her life. Eleanor moved closer to Diana again, who was shaking in fear; it was evident that she was not done teaching her a lesson.
"Shaking in fear? Good. You deserve every bit of it for what you've done. I should drag you to a dungeon and teach you the lesson of your miserable life for disrespect."
She was prepare to give her the glimpse of what the Giant Hall soldiers of the Victoria had plan to do to her for disrespecting and cheating on the supreme commander.
“Eleanor!” Dominic called. She froze in her tracks. It was the first time he had called her by her name. She turned to him, her eyes begging him not to stop her from teaching Diana a lesson.
"She doesn't deserve the effort. Save your strength." Dominic said to her casually, his expression indifferent. Eleanor stopped, but she still felt upset by Diana's insolence.
Diana was shocked to hear Domini insult her, although politely. She continues to hold her cheeks in disbelieve.
“This was meant to be yours,” Eleanor spat, pointing to the supercar she had arrived with earlier.
Diana stood there in doubt and disbelief. Everything was so confusing to her. How could it possibly be hers? She asked "How do you mean? How could it be mine? How?”
She had many questions in her mind. Who was this lady, and where did she come from? She even called Dominic commander.
Eleanor turned to leave with Dominic who was already on his way after his last statement, but abruptly turned and face Diana again. She was’t satisfied with humiliating her.
Eleanor threw the car keys to Diana, who couldn't catch them; which made it fall to the ground. Diana fumbled to catch it, she hadn’t regain from the slap she received earlier. As Diana was about to pick up the keys, Eleanor stepped on them.
“This was indeed my gift to you. But now, you don't deserve it,” Eleanor stated, enjoying the humiliation. She swiftly picked up the keys and immediately activated the autopilot of the supercar, and immediately the car turned on.
"Watch closely, darling. This is what happens when you disrespect the general." Eleanor exclaimed
It roared towards Diana, who ran towards Frank in fear.
“Help, Frank!” she cried. She ran back to where Frank was and covered her face against Frank's body, who pushed her off him.
The car roared around Frank and Diana three times before colliding directly with a truck parked by the roadside. Eleanor smirked in satisfaction before stating to Diana, “You have no idea what you missed.”
The truck driver, angered, emerged from a restaurant nearby. Seeing what was done to his truck, he was about to rant when Eleanor walked up to him gallantly.
“Here,” she said as she handed over the keys of the supercar to him. "Here, take these keys. Consider it a gift." she brought out a platinum card."And for the damages, here's a platinum card with ten million dollars. Consider it your lucky day."
The truck driver was too surprised to utter a word. His life had just turned around in a matter of minutes.
The truck driver stammers "Ten.. million... dollars? Are you serious?"
Eleanor gave him the card, turning to leave, she winked at Dominic. She was satisfied with the way she humiliated the bitch.
"Come on, princess, the clock is ticking. Chop-chop!" Linda mocked, exchanging glances with her accomplice Zara. The two always found it amusing to taunt Dominic. He consistently overlooked their attempts and focused on his work, and today wasn't an exception. However, he had made up his mind."I wonder how he manages to work so hard. Rumor has it, he's his wife's puppet." Zara said silently but loud enough for Dominic to hear. This wasn't his problem; he had learned how to ignore them. They were still unaware that he had divorced his wife, so they still mock him for always pleasing his wife.Although their words still hurt, he wasn't ready for it to deter him. He had made up his mind to move on, and he continued to pack his belongings. He was ready to call it quits. He had worked hard to serve this company and also put in extra effort to please his wife. That was all the aim of coming to Kester city and since his wife left him, he wasn’t ready to keep up with it.“What's with the gl
Dominic went straight to his locker, ignoring them as if he wasn't the one they were referring to. Clark was not ready to let it slide; he attacked Dominic, pushing him on his shoulder. “You're despicable and a coward. I hate you.” Dominic ignored him like he wasn't there.“What do you expect from the little princess? Once a lady’s puppet, always a laddy’s puppet,” Linda added. Dominic saw it as a waste of time to reply to them; he was going anyway, so they could keep ranting all they could.Suddenly, a group of men stormed the office, looking dangerous and terrifying everyone present. There were five in number, and their presence sent terror through the office. “Where the hell is Selena? Don't make this harder than it needs to be.” the leader of the gang shouted intimidatingly. When he received no reply, he walked up to Zara, who was visibly shaking and he seemed to relish in the fear he caused. “Well, well, what do we have here? A little sweetheart. Maybe she'll keep us entertained
Dominic stood there motionless, unsure of the best way to react to what Selena had typed down on the agreement paper.Although he knew that she doubted he had $8 million dollars to give her, she had already won his admiration, making any wrongdoing on her part insignificant.“Okay... Ehhrrmmm… I mean your account number,” he said while sighing, attempting to control his emotion.“It's on the paper there, check it out,” Dominic said simply. She had given up on making him see reasons why he shouldn't involve himself. So, she just wanted to see where this whole drama would end. She was patient with Dominic; he has been one of her hardworking employees. Her phone beeped; she was expecting a reply from Clara, her best friend. She had asked her for assistance to pay off her loan. Yes, Clara had replied, but another message from her bank distracted her.“Ohh no,” she said surprisingly as her gaze met the sheepish smile of Dominic."How did you..." she tried to ask, but he cut her off. "Pay i
“How cheap! I can't believe my elder sister sold herself for $10 million,” Camara mocked, and Selena's countenance changed. She was angry but chose to hide her anger so she wouldn't ruin her grandma's birthday celebration. Dominic took a deep breath, his tone firm but measured. "Camara, that comment is disrespectful and uncalled for. Selena and I are married because we love each other, and the decision was based on more than just financial considerations. Let's focus on the joyous occasion and show some respect.”Camara faced Dominic, ready to fight back. She was angry that he didn't have the right to reprimand her like a child, but Silas quickly stopped his wife from reacting to Dominic. He was afraid and didn't want his wife to mess with Dominic, realizing he could be the son of a very rich and influential person in the state.Clearly envious, Silas swiftly searched for Dominic's name to check if he was a celebrity he wasn't aware of. Finding no matches, he became suspicious of Dom
Silas leaned back in his chair with a self-satisfied grin. "I did a little digging, Selena. Your charming husband here isn't the hidden wealthy man you think he is. He's just a small employee juggling several part-time jobs for the past few years. The money he used to 'save the company' is likely every penny he scraped together from those menial jobs.”Dominic sat unfazed by Silas’ revelation and responded calmly, "Impressive detective work, Silas. Yes, I worked hard, took odd jobs, and saved every penny to help Selena's company. It's not about being a hidden rich man; it's about dedication and genuine care for someone I love.”“Oohh shut it, you loser. You don't have a place here,” Silas stressed with disdain. The room fell silent as everyone gasped at the sudden revelation. The Alexiou's family doesn't tolerate poor people, so they took it upon themselves to ridicule Dominic and make him see he doesn't have a place with them.Camara got the perfect opportunity to diminish Dominic fu
" Why don't we go to my house?" Selena suggested as they got to the carpark, she still had her rickety car they could take home. Dominic shrugged before nodding slowly." Okay." It wasn't as though he had a place to stay since he and Diana were no longer together. Together, they entered her car and she smiled at him as she threw the car keys at him. He caught them with ease. "Will you drive?" She asked him before furrowing her eyebrows as she stared at him, "I'm sorry, can you drive?" Dominic nodded, he didn't blame her for thinking that he wasn't capable of handling a car. " I can manage." He said and ignited the car. Selena smiled, " I trust you, but I don't want to die." She said. He grinned and Selena was taken aback by his handsomeness. Diana missed a gem and she was happy that she was the one who got it. " I can feel your eyes on me." He said and Dominic smiled as he navigated the car home. Then he suddenly brought the car to a halt causing Selena to be startled." Why did
"Let's just say that she's a very dear friend of mine." Dominic lied, he wasn't willing to reveal everything to her and thus wasn't because he didn't trust her but for the fact that he wanted to build the relationship on a normal level, allow it to gain momentum before finally coming out to her. Selena cocked her head, a pang of jealousy rushed through her. She didn't expect him to have a friend, a dear one at that. " Should I be worried?" She inquired and Dominic's brows furrowed in momentary confusion before his eyes widened at the realization."Oh? About Eleanor?" He asked in surprise and Selena nodded. He chuckled briefly, " No, you don't." He replied." Why do I have a feeling that you are lying to me?" Selena asked and he stared at her as though she was saying gibberish. Dominic sighed, he didn't want her to begin to ask more questions. "Firstly, I don't think she's your friend, you wouldn't speak to her in that manner." She said.Dominic went silent, she was astute of her goo
They grimaced as they turned towards her, "Mom, I was just having a conversation with Camara." Rose said but she didn't say anything else.Grandma stared at her with anger in her eyes, "My guests are getting well." She said, Her party was always the talk of the town and she wouldn't like this year to be different. There was a reason she was called the Queen of parties. " Mom, it was just for a minute, I'm sure they won't die of starvation." Rose replied tiredly, not happy that she was facing this kind of lashing from her mother in front of her daughter. If she wanted to make a correction which this wasn't by the way, she could call her secretly and talk about it not speak as though she was a kid."Don't take that tone with me young lady." Grandma said and Rose rolled her eyes. Anger welled in her eyes as she stared at her daughter.Camara felt the need to come in between them, this was what happened when a mother and daughter were strong-willed. This was also expressed in her mother'
