“Did you bathe in piss?”

As Sebastian came out of the restroom with his resuscitated guard, they were accosted by a lady.

“Who the hell let you in here smelling like this?” Another lady pinched her nose as they walked past her.

“Someone get security to throw these losers out, they’re going to make me puke,” a richly dressed man frowned at them.

Sebastian was filled with rage as the people shunned him but there was no other way to get to the exit except through the hall.

“Oh my god baby! What happened to you?” Sara shrieked when she saw his state. She scrunched her nose and waved her fingers over it. “You smell of piss.”

“There was an accident in the restroom, I’m going to go change and come back,” Sebastian said dismissively, swiftly exiting the hall before Sara questioned the fingerprints on his face.

Nothing, absolutely nothing in this world was going to stop him from killing Ryker.

A few minutes after Sebastian left the hall, Samantha and Cage walked in. Kelvin was still being attended to by Doctor Kent because of illness, so he sent Samantha and Cage ahead of him.

The moment David Reyes, the patriarch of the Reyes family and grandfather to Nico saw Samantha walk in, he rushed over to her with a big smile on his face.

Even though he was old enough to be her grandfather, he bowed to her in respect, showing the elevated status of the Grey family over the Reyes family.

“I am David Reyes, patriarch of the Reyes family and grandfather of the groom to be. It is an honour to have a member of the Grey family at my family occasion,” David said humbly before raising his head up.

Samantha gave him a placid smile, the type that showed plain courtesy. “Congratulations on the engagement of your grandson. My grandfather will be running late, so he sent me ahead. I hope we won’t be disappointed.”

“Not at all Miss Samantha, we are eager to collaborate with your family and we will do our best to prove our worthiness,” David said in a humble manner, bowing again to Samantha.

After leading Samantha and Cage to the seat reserved from them, David climbed up on stage.

“Welcome everyone and rise to your feet because today you are lucky to be in the presence of true royalty, an enigma and a true giant in the financial industry of Crimson.”

Murmurs filtered through the crowd as every single person stood to their feet, their heads turning left and right for the person a man as powerful as David Reyes was edifying with such powerful words.

“It is a truly auspicious day in my family. Not only is my grandson getting engaged to the most beautiful woman in the city, our family has also been favoured, selected and honoured to go into collaboration with the Grey family of the Metro Group.

Ladies and gentlemen, take a bow and pay your respects to the CEO and vice president of the Metro Group, Samantha Grey,” David said with a coy smile on his lips and hooded eyes as he bowed in Samantha’s direction.

All the other guests followed suit, bowing in Samantha’s direction and they were left in awe of the kind of connection the Reyes family had. For a second tier like them to collaborate with one of the three great houses of Crimson was considered impossible, yet they had done it.

“The Reyes’ are far ahead of us, what a remarkable feat,” One of the guests even voiced it out loud.

“Do you know what is better than collaborating with one of the great houses of Crimson?”

A man asked from the entrance of the hall. He was short and overweight and walked with a limp but his ten fingers were adorned with expensive gold and diamond rings and he was wearing a custom made three piece suit that only needed a glance at to tell it was quite expensive.

The man was none other than the celebrant of the occasion, Nico Reyes.

“No! Tell us grandson!” David yelled, hiding his sinister smirk.

Everything was going according to what they planned.

“Well, the only thing better than collaborating with one of the great houses of Crimson is collaborating with two. Ladies and gentlemen, my very distinguished guest, since you are all still on your feet, take a bow and show your respects to Leo and Claudia Yates of the Yates family.”

Samantha shifted uncomfortably in her seat and her heart pounded uncontrollably when she heard the name, ‘Yates’.

“What is the meaning of this, Cage? What silly game are the Reyes’ trying to play?”

Cage frowned deeply, scowling at the man and woman who just walked in.

“Remain calm Samantha, if it’s trouble David and his family are looking for, they’ll get an overdose of it because even the unborn children in this city know that we hate the Yates as much as they hate us. They are going to have to choose. Us or them.”
