Expensive wine

Chapter 9: 

The conversation went on and on while the others were having a good time, Lucas stood there pouring in drinks to whoever needed them. 

Sean suddenly got on his feet and walked over to Lucas, a disdainful smile on his cheek while he held his glass of wine and slowly sipped through it. 

“Lucas dear, how have you been, I never thought that you would ever come back to this family after how badly you have been treated, don't you have a single atom of shame in you”

“This is my family, why should I be afraid to go back to my family?”

“And you do not care even if all this same family has ever done was to ridicule you. I Remember vividly that the last time you were here, Uncle Kendrick called the cops on you and asked them to brutalise you, I don't know why he had a change of mind to let you stay for a minute this time around?”

He allowed me to stay because he had eyes," Lucas retorted. 

"Do you mean he thought you had arrived because of this fake designer you put on, can he see suffering from your face? These materials could be borrowed to feel like normal people. I don't know why he is blind to see that," he explained

Lucas kept smiling while looking at his face and he was uncomfortable with the smirk on Lucas's face. 

Sean felt intimidated and smiled broadly to calm himself down. He was going to speak again but the waiter came back with the bill and a polite smile on his face. 

“Thank you Sir for being our top customers, here is the bill?” He handed it out to Sean but instead of accepting the bill, he provided him his credit card. 

The waiter slid in the card but pulled it out after it made a loud beep sound. 

“I am sorry Sir, but the card does not have such a limit”. Everyone at the table immediately turned their attention to him, more than anything else, the Coopers family always wanted to preserve their reputation as one of the most influential families in the town and would never condone any form of humiliation. 

“What are you saying, this is a golden gold and has a limit of five million dollars”.

“I am sorry sir but the entire bottle of wine is worth more than five million dollars”

“What!! ” Sean screamed out and they all looked at him in awe. 

“I am sorry sir, but this is our most expensive wine and each bottle costs six hundred dollars and you ordered ten bottles”.

“I warned you, Sean, that give bottles was enough for the entire Clan, but you went ahead to gloat like you had all the money in the world to spend!! ”

Kendrick yelled at the top of his voice as he got on his feet, his fist clenched tightly and he was fuming in rage, But Sophia held him, stopping him from taking any further action. 

“Calm down dear”

“How do you expect me to calm down when he always acts impulsively, where are we expected to pay a whole six million dollars just for wine”.

“They are good wine sir” The waiter who stood there expecting his payment chipped in. 

“Will you shut up your mouth!”

“Calm down brother, Sean you assured me that you had this covered don't you have any other credit card that you could pay with?” Tristan asked calmly, hoping that there was a way his son was going to solve this without embarrassing him. 

But Sean iche the scrap 9f his hair, not certain what to say. “No Father… This is the only credit card I have, I never imagined that a bottle of wine would cost six hundred dollars”.

“Oh my God! What is this humiliation and who is going to save us from this, everyone is going to laugh at the Coopers Clan that we can no longer afford a bottle of wine” Madam Jane cried out, the thought of her reputation on the line sent her to the edge. 

Lucas dipped his hand into his pocket and pulled out his black card. “Here! Use mine and settle the bill” He spoke calmly to the waiter as they all widened their gaze at him, but Sean chuckled loudly. 

“What do you think that this is, you think that the few bucks you earn can pay for such an expensive wine?” he mocked. 

“Lucas, I advise that you remain quiet in a situation like this and not add more fuel to the fire” Kendrick advised. 

“A black titanium Card!!” The waiter held out the card and screamed after staring at it persistently for a while. Everyone immediately got up on their feet and rushed over to the waiter, Madam Jane immediately snatched the card away from him, staring intensely at it with her eyes wide open.
