Akira brought Carlos’ body under a big tree. She put him down and went utterly silent. There was no movement in his face. He looked completely dead. She couldn’t believe he died just like that. Tears escaped her eyes as she sat frozen next to him. Her heart grew heavy as seconds trudged past.

She put her hand on her mask and was about to remove it, but then she felt a vibration. She looked at the chest wound on Carlos, and it began to repair all by itself. His heart also regenerated, and then it started beating slowly but surely.

“This…” Akira couldn’t believe what she just saw. But Carlos’ heartbeat strengthened right before her eyes. And she remembered something she had learned during her battle at the moonless kingdom.

Carlos’ eyes turned normal, and he looked at Akira without saying anything.

A few seconds passed. “I’m not dead? Did you save me?”

“You saved yourself,” Akira said softly, almost in a weak voice. But her eyes gained more light. “I heard in the past that for blood-awa

Though Carlos wanted Akira to come with him to deal with Butcher as quickly as possible, Akira told him to do something else.Together, they explored the outer zone and looked for children that were let loose to survive on their own. After searching for a long time, they found one kid but he was near death and all that was left of him was skin and bones. Even his eyes were gone.“This is horrible. What sort of beast did this to him?” Carlos’ blood boiled.“It’s not the beast that you think,” Akira said. “This is the work of a life-leecher. This isn't a regular skill, either. The life-leechers have the capability to steal others’ vitality and make it their own virility, or steal others’ virility and make it their own vitality.”“I didn’t quite get it.”“Whether they drink blood, or have sex, they’re going to suck the powers out of others,” Akira explained.“Like with the succubus demons we hear about in stories?”“Yeah, but those demons only suck the spiritual energy away, but these gu

Neither Akira nor Carlos expected the life-leecher to be the one they were looking for. If they said they were disappointed to see Butcher, they’d be lying!Nevertheless, Akira was not as happy to meet Butcher straight away because he was a life leecher with a lot of experience under his belt. Would she and Carlos be able to beat him? She wasn’t sure, but she wasn’t even given time to think.Butcher who was sucking the life out of a kid suddenly threw the kid onto Akira who was in the front. And he also leaped at her.In a battle between powerful vampires, a second of carelessness or disturbance could lead one to lose the fight.Butcher thought that the woman in the black mask would instinctively catch the kid, and she did.“Corrupt Claw!” Butcher clawed at Akira with his ghostly-pale claw.BUDUM~!A sphere of blood appeared from behind Akira and extended just enough to block Butcher’s claws before they could strike her.SUSSS~~!! “I’m going to cut you into a thousand pieces, you motherfucker!” Butcher had become a pale white ghostlike bat and flew at Carlos with his mouth wide open, trying to bite his face off.Carlos formed the blood sphere just in time and blocked Butcher off. “Don’t you want to know how your sons died? If I die, who’s going to tell you?” His words made Butcher go all the crazier and bite at the blood sphere like a man who lost all reason. However, Butcher’s ghostly fangs were powerful enough to add up the damage over time and managed to destroy the blood sphere before Carlos could repair it.Carlos didn’t sweat. He confidently raised his hand and commanded with his thought. His eyes glowed red, and needles of blood formed all around them as far as the eye could see.Akira was stunned by what she saw, but Butcher still fearlessly and furiously attacked Carlos. All the needles spun as they came shooting down at Butcher and pierced through his bat-like body and also exploded.A disgustingly hu

Akira’s face turned pale. She had only seen Vril’s face once in the past, and she could never forget that which had struck a lot of fear in her heart. “V-Vril Carlyle Zaros… the king of Shambol!”Carlos’ heart shook for a second. (The king of Shambol? That means he’s a pureblood!) Carlos could feel the thick, threatening aura of Vril, and the sheer bloodlust he was leaking out unintentionally. Without anyone telling him, he could tell that Vril was a cold-blooded killer and seemed much more dangerous than Cinderella because he didn’t seem like a person who’d let his intentions appear on his face.“Akira N Mai. You’ve certainly grown stronger from the last time I saw you,” Vril replied in a calm yet cold tone. “But do you really think you are strong enough to be causing a ruckus here?”“I… I apologize for the inconvenience,” Akira lowered her head.“Why are you bowing to him?” Carlos didn’t like it. He leaped forth and attacked Vril with his claw. Before Carlos reached him, Vril flick

The harpy was fast and strong. It could easily chew through a rhinoceros’ horn if it wanted, but before it could even reach Carlos, a horizontal vortex of blood formed around the monster and ripped it into pieces.Carlos kept flying through the air. More flying beasts attacked him. Some of them were stronger than harpies, but none of them posed a real threat to him. With only minor wounds, he managed to reach the city. There was an aerial barrier which didn’t let him enter the city. He attacked the barrier, but it withstood his strength.Carlos did not want to enter the city without breaking the barrier, because if he wasn’t even able to destroy this barrier, how could he hope to rescue Akira by defeating everyone that would stand in his way?Meanwhile, many miles away, at the center of the city.In Lord Vril’s tower.Vril just brought Akira with him and tossed her into the arms of his vampiric maids who injected her with poison that temporarily paralyzed Akira.Akira’s strength great

Before Tristyn and Aiden Zones arrived at the barrier, Carlos was already thrashing the vampires that attacked him. Some of the opponents were strong, but they couldn’t defeat Carlos even when they banded together. One large male vampire with twin braids entered the scene, proclaiming. “I’m Beron the Destroyer! I’ll take on you!”“I don’t have time or the interest to fight second-rate trash,” Carlos side-stepped and dodged his quick punch before slapping him with the back of his hand, which sent him spinning to the ground.“H-He defeated The Destroyer in one hit?” the onlooking vampires were stunned. “How did he do it?” Even though they all witnessed it with their own eyes, they still couldn’t believe it.“If he can call himself a destroyer, then what am I?” Carlos asked them while punching the barrier. Everytime his fists clashed with the barrier, shockwaves spread around him and upset the onlookers.Everybody thought he was practicing his strength by punching at the barrier, which w

The cage of the nails shrunk fast, aiming to slice Carlos into many pieces. However, Carlos managed to slip through a gap and escape the cage.“Ho… I guess a brat who’s stupid enough to attack the barrier must at least be agile,” Aiden pulled his nails back and flashed behind Carlos. “But the thing is, I’m agile, too!” He clawed at Carlos’ neck.Garlos ducked without even looking back and rolled forward.“Take this!” Aiden unleashed a kick and hit Carlos while he was still rolling. Carlos stopped the kick with his hand and used it to bounce at the opponent. His fist flew forward, forcing Aiden to defend himself for a punch, but then it was Carlos’ knee that struck his abdomen, making him cough blood and loosen his guard.Carlos didn’t stop there. He slapped on both the ears of Aiden as hard as he could, forcing blood to pour out of Aiden’s ears.Carlos plucked out both of Aiden’s eyes and pushed him down to the ground. With a quick thrust, he dug his hand into the chest and ripped the

A few hours later.Vril brought a young child over to Akira who was put in a room and was still allowed to wear the mask and the black cloak.“If you kill this little girl, I’ll consider letting you go,” Vril said and tossed the girl into the room. “You have 24 hours to make a decision.” Saying that Vril shut the door and left. The little girl seemed five years old at best, and she was trembling. Her darkened and swollen eyes suggested that she was starved and physically abused.Akira frowned.“I’ll do anything you want, so please don’t kill me,” the little girl begged while trying her best to not make eye contact with Akira and keep her gaze downward. Her knees must be hurting because she fell when Vril had thrown her, yet she was not showing the pain in her face. She definitely must be going through more pain than just in her knees, but from how she was bearing all that pain, Akira could imagine how they conditioned her to not even cry or complain about the pain.Akira greeted her

The next morning.Victoria woke up and did not receive a bed coffee. She went to the kitchen, only to find a letter there on the fridge.Cassey had written a letter and disappeared. In the letter, she thanked Victoria for her care, and apologized for leaving this way because she knew Victoria wouldn’t let her go otherwise.“The bats must have really scared her,” Victoria couldn’t really blame Cassey, but she was still angry that Cassey left without even telling directly to her face. “If she comes back running after a few months, I won’t take her in.”On the other hand, Gregory, having lost his argument with Victoria the previous night, brought a black magician to chase the bats away. However, they didn’t know this black magician was a fake. But that would probably be not proven because the bats would no longer attack the mansion from here onward.Sofia told her mother to prepare her multiple masks, one of which looked like Cassey, and others that looked like different people, including

Many minutes passed since Sofia and others got stuck in the smelly basement filled with rat poop and what not. Moreover, these rats were the size of cats. From having eaten all kinds of roots and seeds in the garden, they grew very bulky, and they did not fear these four humans. They were more arrogant than the Myers themselves, as if they were the real owners of this place! As everyone waited with bated breaths, about an hour or so later, the music stopped. The sound of bats leaving reached their ears.“Did they leave?” Sofia wondered. She told Cassey to check on it, but Cassey was still feeling her wounds. She refused to go out. They waited a few minutes before coming out. To their relief, the bats were gone, and so did the guitar, but they didn’t care about the guitar.“Our mansion must be cursed,” Victoria looked at Gregory. “Do something.”“What do you want me to do? Bring some black magicians?” he yelled in frustration.“I don’t know! Just make sure they won’t even come near our

In the middle of the night, Sofia was rolling around and slapping her arms every now and then because bugs were biting her. There was no fan or AC in this cottage. All she had was a hand fan, and her arms had grown heavy from waving the fan. Now, she was completely drenched in sweat, and this made it all the more difficult for her to properly sleep. She got up from the couch and shook her dress before walking out of the cottage. She could see the mansion in the distance. The words her mother told her a day ago came to her mind.“After the wedding was stopped, we didn’t care about anything. But your sister went to the catering guys and told them to give the food to the homeless. They went and freely distributed the food throughout the city in our family’s name,” Victoria showed the details in the newspaper. “This is good for us because the public opinion will surely improve after this incident. We’re doing our best to make those videos Carlos showed at the wedding are fake. Even if som

And all those who knew him mourned his death. His story of Charles Wallace had become so popular it was printed in multiple magazines, and a popular writer had announced that he would be writing a biography of Carlos, and he requested some funds for researching in depth about the life of Carlos Wallace. Within just a few days, the author received thousands of dollars as funds from the interested public.Victoria and Gregory, on the other hand, publicly stated that they have nothing to do with their eldest daughter’s actions and did not support what Sofia had done. Where is he?”“He’s… standing right before you,” Carlos raised the face mask in his hand. “I’m Carlos. And I’m Charles.”Victoria’s eyes grew wider than the seas. The wine glass in her hand fell.“I’m Carlos Wallce. I’m Charles Wallace,” Carlos added. “I’m the guy that has been treated like a trash, not worth her time, by Sofia no matter how much I tried to please her, and I’m also the guy that she has fallen for because she believed she deserved me when I was a gambler who earns in millions every match.”Sofia still kept stupidly staring in gut-busting shock. Why are you marrying Sofia?”Charles maintained a straight face. “You will know soon.”“What do you mean I’ll know soon?” Laurel frowned.“That’s all I can say. If you leave, I’ll prepare for the wedding,” Charles said.Laurel clenched her fist. “I hate you, Charles. I wish I never met you.” Holding her tears back, she rushed out of the room.Charles pursed his lips and took a deep breath. Many years ago, when he was very young, he was alone. Even after these years, that didn’t seem to have changed as he didn’t have anyone that would walk beside him.Charles was aimlessly walking, and he noticed a few men trying to look from an old beggar. They couldn’t move their necks, not even a little.“Give his money back,” Charles uttered, putting a bit more strength into his grip, and the youngsters quickly dropped the money.
