chapter fourteen

Jason’s head pounded as he came to consciousness, the world around him a blur of dim light and rough shadows. His wrists were tied, the ropes biting into his skin as he struggled to orient himself. His head throbbed with pain, he remembered being dragged into the car with Ethan seated before him. He touched the wound on his head as blood trickled down his face.

The last thing he remembered was the auction—a flash of Ethan’s smug grin and the feel of cold metal against his temple as he was dragged away.

"Where am I?" he muttered, his voice hoarse. Jason was beginning to fear, the game was far more than Ethan wanting to humilate him. There was something more to everyone and no one is telling him what it was.

A chuckle echoed in the dimly lit room. "Awake already, Walker heir?" The voice was mocking, dripping with sarcasm. Jason's eyes flicked to the figure standing just beyond the shadows—a man dressed in black, his face obscured.
