Jordan stood at a distance as he watched her after resting her on the seat. He was still trying to digest what Diana was trying to say. “Do you feel better now?” Jordan asked.

Diana shook her head. “I cannot feel any better. I lost the baby, and now Edwin does not want to see me. My mother is nursing broken bones, and I cannot take her to the hospital because my uncle does not want anyone to know what he is doing to us. He does not want to get into trouble, and so we have to do as he says.” Diana explained, tears filling her eyes again.

Ana felt pity for her, and so did Jordan. Maybe her uncle had all the rights to take away everything from them and perhaps kick them out if he wanted. But beating them to the point of breaking their bones was so uncalled for. “Was he the reason why you lost your baby?” Ana asked with so much empathy.
