Chapter 12: BROKE?

Richmond just couldn't believe his eyes or his ears. He had been previously informed that he had over 5 billion dollars in that account.

"What what the hell is happening?" He couldn't help but scream in his head.

"Hahaha, limping is not only a broke fool with broken limbs, he is also a psychopath?" The students in the hall laughed hard.

"As broke as his broken limb," Tina giggled.

"I will have to try again, I have money in my account, I swear," he announced.

"Try again?" Tina giggled. "So much audacity."

Richmond tried again but it read the same red alert. "INSUFFICIENT FUND," It red.

"As we would have thought," Tina gasped.

Richmond's face grew hot red with anger and he threw the card angrily to the floor.

His eyes shifted to the crowd of students who were already raining insults on him.

"Gulp," Richmond swallowed a large lump. He could already feel hot tears foaming at the corner of his eyes, he was confused.

"What do I do now," he said to himself.

"You!" He heard someone yell at him from behind.

His eyes shifted away from the glaring eyes of the crowd of students and it met with the glare of the security officer.

"I warned you," he growled.

Richmond shivered hard as the security officer advanced angrily toward him. With each step he took, he could feel his heart beating hard against his chest.

"I would have to run it," Richmond thought and he broke into a limping run while the whole crowd broke into laughter.

"Limping mond," everyone laughed.

"Where does he thinks he is limping too," Tina mocked.

Soon the security officer caught up with him and held him tightly by his neck.

"I don't want to see you around this place ever again," the security officer growled and left Richmond on the floor.

Richmond got up to leave immediately, there was certainly no point in staying there.

But immediately he turned, someone called his name.

"Wait," he heard someone yelling from behind.

Richmond turned and noticed one of the judges on the stage standing next to him and he held the black card.

Richmond shivered with fear and his eyes moved erratically.

"What now," he thought.

"Hey dear," the judge said to him with a smile on his face.

"Hi," Richmond replied.

"Please come with me, I don't think the problem is with your card, they used the wrong machine for it," he replied.

Richmond hesitated for some time before getting up from where he sat.

"The problem is with the machine? How can that be," he thought.

"Sir just forget about it, U don't want another embarrassment," Richmond pleaded.

"Just one more trial," the judge replied.

Richmond swallowed hard and got up slowly from where he sat.

He could feel his heart beating hard against his chest with every step he took.

"God please let this work out," he prayed in his head.

They got into the hall and the crowd burst into laughter again immediately they saw Richmond limping into the hall.

"Just great," David gasped with his hands folded across his chest.

"I wonder when he will stop embarrassing himself," Tina whispered into David's ears.

But David wasn't listening to her anyone.

He knew that very soon, it would be their turn to pay for a ticket then, even Tina would have to know the hard truth.

"We are broke?" He could already imagine her outburst.

"Why are you still here?" The security officer growled at Richmond.

"I brought him," Judge Wesson answered for Richmond.

"But," the security officer tried to complain but Wesson cuts him short.

"No buts, I think the problem is with the cash withdrawal machine used for the withdrawal process. I think he should try the higly exclusive card machine inside," the judge requested.

Immediately he said this, Tina suspected a foul play somewhere and she was far bet at disgracing Richmond.

She wasn't going to allow him play with the sympathy of any judge to act in his favor.

"I bet that judge wants to help Richmond for sympathy reasons," Tina said to David.

"Then there is nothing you can do," David replied.

"Nothing I can do? I certainly will not allow that slut cheat his way into this contest. His ass should be where it belongs, among the dogs" Tina snapped.

She quickly stepped out and stood in Richmond and Wesson as they attempted to go into the room.

"Sir, I just hope this isn't what I am thinking. I just hope you aren't sympathizing with this limping doggy already and you want to cheat for him? Tina snapped.

Wesson stared to Tina in amazement. "Who is this proud fool," he thought.

He hadn't met with such a proud girl in a very long time. Somebody really needs to treat her messes.

But that wouldn't be him, he was only a judge.

"Miss?" the security officer exclaimed.

"Don't worry Rufus, I will uphold the genuity of this contest. I just pray you aren't the one that would get disgraced at the end, rude slut," he shot a sneer at her.

"Don't worry about me Mr judge, just do the needful," Tina returned.

Wesson turned over to Rufus immediately. "Please get the machine inside," he ordered.

The security officer went inside quickly and returned with a little cash withdrawal Machine for special cards and he placed it before the crowd.

"Here it is," he said to Wesson

"Miss Fairness, just hope you are watching closely," he said.

"I won't dare to blink an eye," Tina returned, allowing her pride to gradually get into her head.

He handed over the sliver card to Richmond and he advanced towards the machine.

His blood ran cold as he placed the card into the card slot and he inputted his pin.

"Please work out," he closed his eyes.

"Let's go," John whispered into Michael's ear.

"Why?" Michael inquired.

"I can't stand this embarrassment," he explained.

They got on their feet and began to proceed out of the hall.

Then, the machine turned green.

"FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS PAID," It read.

"What," Tina exclaimed with great shock and Richmond let out a sigh of relief.

"John it worked," Michael whispered into John's ear.

"What? Five hundred thousand dollars? Richmond? How?" she questioned randomly.

The hall was as silent as a graveyard and Tina felt under pressure.

"I just can't let him go with this victory," she whispered to herself.

She searched for the best possible way to make sure the crowd laugh at Richmond again. Then, she got the perfect idea

"Well, you were able to pay but that still doesn't strike out the fact that this money might have been gotten from dubious means," Tina exclaimed making the sound of murmurs fill the hall.

"What do you want Miss," the kind judge fired?

"I don't want anything, all I seek to know alongside every student other student in this hall is where he got this money from," Tina explained.

"Don't you think you are going too far," David whispered into her ears?

"He can't do a thing to me. My father's position is enough to scare him," Tina replied with a smile on her face.

Wesson turned over to Richmond and sighed.

"We are waiting," he said to him.

Richmond swallowed hard and his heart raced faster. He could not reveal his true identity, at least, not yet.

"It my life savings and the rest of the money for my award that was paid into my account last week by the government," Richmond explained.

Immediately he said this, the hall flooded with laughter and Richmond swallowed hard.

"Just as I had thought," Tina gasped.

He stared into Tina's glaring eyes and his anger rose steadily.

"Just can't wait for you to get disgraced before the whole crowd," he said to himself.

"Are you satisfied now?" Richmond glared at her.

"Yes, I am," Tina return his glare.

"It's your turn, Miss. Let's see what you've got," Wesson turned to Tina.

"With due pleasure sir," Tina replied.

She walked like a queen over to David and collected his card from him and then, she began to catwalk to the machine on stage.

Richmond fixed his gaze on David and he noticed him shivering hard with fear.

"Gulp," a large lump went down his throat like a large stone.

He shivered so hard that he had to place his hands on his knees to control himself.

Richmond smiled to himself. "Revenge is sweet," he shot an evil smile.
