CHAPTER 9
He stated the same thing once more, this time adding, "I was asking you a question, bro. Are you deaf?” as though Yujin had not even heard of the matter.
Because Yujin finds the other guy's approach to be ostensibly too annoying and at the same time too carefree as well, Yujin then abruptly gave him a shrug as if trying to inflict sarcasm over the other guy's question before he responded, "Who knows, maybe yes or maybe no."
However, Yujin was caught off guard when the other guys' friend suddenly struck him in the face with a blow that was quite forceful. Because it was so intense, Yujin came dangerously close to losing his balance.
Yujin was almost exactly the same height as the man who punched him in the face. The man who did it was just a hair taller than Yujin himself. In addition to this, he had a solidly built body that was even more impressive than Yujin's..
Even if that turned out to be the case, Yujin did not show the slightest sign of wavering in his standoff with the man who punched him. Yujin instead demonstrated to the guy that he was not even worthy of the name "famous delinquent boy in the institution" for nothing at all.
Yujin did not waste any time and went straight ahead to seize the other man's head in an instant. After Yujin immediately slammed his forehead against the other man, he immediately knocked him unconscious before the other man even had a chance to get away from Yujin's grasp.
Yujin's force was so powerful that the other people who witnessed it couldn't even believe what they saw after the other man actually lost consciousness as a result of being knocked out instantly by that action from Yujin. They just couldn't believe what they saw.
After that, there was a brief period of silence, and Yujin had already prepared himself for an ambush from the man's other friends. However, Yujin had not anticipated that what the man's other friends would do instead would be to laugh at the fallen man.
The first guy who had approached Yujin earlier and asked him who had killed the S-tier monster unexpectedly came forward and approached him once more. He exclaimed in a startled manner, "Amazing!" while simultaneously clapping his hands incessantly.
Yujin had a hard time getting rid of the preconceived notion that this other person had some hidden agenda that he couldn't just ignore. Even though the guy wasn't doing anything other than actually keeping the sarcasm of the way he greeted Yujin, it wouldn't be safe for Yujin to believe that he could be harmless in comparison to his comrade.
As a result, Yujin never again relaxed his vigilance under any circumstances. It would be prudent to at least prepare for the possibility that this individual might also decide to attack Yujin at the same time.
Yujin reasoned that it would be for the best if he made it a point to keep an eyewatch not only on this individual but also on the other people who were with him. In addition to the man who was still unconscious after Yujin had knocked him out, there was also the woman who was standing behind the man who was currently in front of Yujin.
She was just standing off to the side and staring at Yujin from quite a distance from where Yujin is at the moment. There is no indication that she intended to attack Yujin in the same manner as her comrade, who is still unconscious, did. Neither has she given any indication that she intended to do so.
When compared to the other two men, Yujin couldn't help but feel a little bit more curious about her. However, he tried his best to suppress this feeling. In contrast to the other two men, she exudes a calmer and more relaxed atmosphere. Despite the fact that it may still be too soon to pass judgment, Yujin had the impression that the woman would not pose as much of a danger to him as the other two.
Even though Yujin appeared to have no hesitation when it came to fighting anyone or anything, be it men or women, this woman was in some way distinct from the others in comparison to the others. Yujin did not know much about her, particularly because the lower portion of her face appeared to be concealed by a mask, giving the impression that she was some kind of assassin.
The other guy, who was just clapping a moment ago, abruptly began to talk to Yujin, which caused Yujin's attention to be diverted away from her.
"I see that you are the one who put an end to the beast. How were you able to do it?” he asked.
Yujin was not the type of person who enjoyed engaging in friendly conversation, especially with unknown people. He would either ignore them and walk away from the situation or simply answer them in a brief manner in order to get it over with as quickly as possible.
However, it appeared that Yujin had already assumed that the guy wouldn't stop insisting that Yujin speak up even if Yujin chose not to speak to him. This was the case despite the fact that Yujin had chosen not to speak to him. People who are obnoxious and persistent, such as the individual who just asked Yujin to have a conversation with him right now, are the kind of people that Yujin frequently despises.
When things got to be like this, Yujin's desire to escape the predicament and start over became overwhelming. But before Yujin could even turn around a second time, something unexpected happened. The other man made an effort to dissuade Yujin from leaving by either directly questioning him or, more likely, making an offer to Yujin to participate in some kind of a transaction that he was positive Yujin would immediately accept.
"Exactly what is it?" Yujin asked in a terse manner when he would be able to focus exclusively on the first side.
After hearing that Yujin had requested it, the other man eventually flashed a sly grin in Yujin's direction.
When the other man eventually responded, "well, I have a deal between you and me whom you should better that no one else may know if this," Yujin's eyes somehow widened as he read this.
Hearing that from the guy only made Yujin burst out laughing out loud. At first he found him a little annoying because of how suspicious his motives could be. At the very least, Yujin didn’t want to let his guard down although he couldn’t help but just merely laugh. What Yujin failed to notice though was that the guy would actually exhibit a deadly skill before Yujin’s eyes that he had not anticipated. The guy swiftly made a flash step and just when thought he was about to attack him head on, he was wrong. The guy made another flash step as he leaped from the front then switched swiftly to the rear side of Yujin, before Yujin could even make a single move to look over his opponent from behind, the guy instantly took advantage of his time and kicked the back side of Yujin’s knees. It was so swift that Yujin failed to even support his fall. In an instant, he found himself on the ground, but things didn’t end there as the guy immediately captured Yujin’s arm and knot it together before Y
The guy made himself sound pretty convincing that Yujin immediately had second thoughts over the situation. It wasn’t even like Yujin had any interest over the new weaponry and power upgrades he was mentioning earlier.Yujin abruptly began to feel like it was necessary for him to be able to know that fact. Especially since he had become interested in identifying how he could kill every monster that had infiltrated the colony the fastest way he could do so.“I don’t trust you.” Yujin bluntly told the guy.“Of course you won’t.” the guy said back as if initiating to mock Yujin. However, Yujin didn’t settle just like that, he wanted to make even with the conversation which was why he immediately replied, “I don’t trust you and your green hair.” as he points out the guy’s wavy green hair.Indeed the guy talking to Yujin right now does have green hair that looks like he came from a group of notorious fellows. Although his body frame wasn’t really much built up compared to Yujin, he astound
“Get your hands off of me.” Yujin tried to struggle and get the hands that had been holding him, off of him. However, since they were much stronger than Yujin, he ended up only wasting his time since he could not even go against any of them at this point.“Well then, champion, off we go to the crystal fortress of the thirteenth colony.” the green-haired guy said after instructing his other two comrades to follow him.The two comrades of the green-haired man smoothly dragged Yujin from the area and into an ovular ship. It was a spacious flying ship that has top edge technological engines which Yujin had never seen before. After the bigger man dragged Yujin into the virtual cage, the three of them immediately began to maneuver the whole system of the ship as it launches. Yujin attempted to escape, however, the moment his hand even touched the edge of the virtual cage, he instantly felt an electrifying jolt coursed through his entire body. He saw that it radiated from the round transluc
As the ovular ship crash lands on the deck of the crystal fortress, the impact caused Yujin to collide with the energy cell that imprisons him within. And as a result, the impact electrified Yujin a couple of times. The pain that he had to endure after that impact was so unbearable that Yujin even screamed out the anguish he felt over his predicament. He felt like his entire body had gone numb. The electric shock left him feeling nothing. It was as if his entire body had been deprived of its own senses. “What happened, Olgin?” the green-haired guy abruptly asked his comrade. Olgin immediately looked at him and answered, “The system just crashed on its own, Takeru.” And despite being in a complete state of numbness, Yujin had finally discovered the name of the green-haired guy as Takeru. It doesn’t even sound nice to hear at all. Hearing even just his name makes Yujin want to throw his fist against Takeru’s face. If only things would be that easy for Yujin to do. Apparently he
As they got closer to the pillar that was floating in front of them, the four of them stopped moving and stood still. It was glowing and emanating some kind of energy, which for some reason attracted Yujin to it all of a sudden. Because the sight was so intense, he had no choice but to partially shield his eyes with his hands. "What the hell is that annoying light all about?" Yujin grumbled while simultaneously attempting to cover his eyes. Because Yujin did not have a complete understanding of the pillar's capabilities, he refrained from getting any closer to it. It was uncertain whether it would pose a threat to him, but even if it hadn't, he wasn't going to rush into it right away. On the other hand, much to his chagrin, it turned out that Takeru was the one who was drawing him closer to the pillar. And because Yujin no longer possessed the strength or resources necessary to effectively combat Takeru, he was typically in the most precarious position possible. "Where exactly are
They hadn't planned on it at all and certainly weren't looking forward to it in any way. Takeru was under the impression that there were two ways to activate the pillar. The first option was to activate the pillar through the process of activating the pillar by using their mana to infuse against the pillar. The other way would be to offer a sacrifice of one's own blood. In the event that the champion passes away before the activation of the pillar has even occurred, he may use his own blood to activate the pillar as well. The pillar will be able to identify the blood of a champion who has successfully vanquished an S-class monster, which will cause it to spin and make the weapon available to the champion. However, at this moment, all of them were in complete shock and disbelief because the pillar didn't work according to what they were expecting. Instead, after it spun around, there was an enormous light coming from its usual normal luminescence. Following the immense light that
“Hold on there…” Yujin's concentration was broken by a voice that was both seductive and endearing. He was caught off guard when Aera appeared out of nowhere and thwarted his intention to shoot Takeru next. He had not anticipated that she would do so. “Aera…” Yujin found that he couldn't stop himself from muttering louder than a whisper.. Even though it appeared to be at a relatively low volume, Aera was still able to hear it adequately. "Did you just refer to me by my name, Champion?" Aera asked with a teasing tone on her voice. The moment Yujin moved, his reflexes kicked in, instantly waking him up. He made an effort to rouse himself from the moment, but he was in danger of succumbing to Aera's alluring presence and had to fight the temptation. The exact same thing happened to him when he saw her for the first time. Aera wasn't concerned that Yujin wasn't able to provide an answer to her question because she was more focused on finding a way to prevent Yujin from aiming his ar
“So, will you seriously pull that off even though you know it could also hit Aera?” Takeru informed him out of the blue. This caused Yujin to have a spur of the moment thought about Aera, who was on the frontline. On the other hand, Yujin was aware of the fact that Takeru's primary concern was not Aera but rather the fact that he would be spared yet again. That was something that Yujin simply could not allow to take place. Especially considering that he was also aware that opportunities like this one do not present themselves very frequently. And because of these considerations, Yujin did not waver in his firm determination to direct the energy arrow in their direction. While he was looking at Aera, he was aware of the powerful force of hesitance; however, his desire to punish Takeru was even stronger than that. “You think you can outsmart me by convincing me to believe that stupid reason, do you?” Yujin said. He was giving off the appearance of a sly grin on his face to show
