005.

"forgive me Mrs Stark", Connor bowed and dragged the young waitress out.

Felix and Laurel hung their jaws in awe.

Felix was shocked at the fact his parents owned this luxury hotel and Laurel already knew her friend and her husband had hit jackpot but she just didn't know the mass of their wealth.

"You own this place, mom?"Felix found his voice

"No son. You do", she smiled, "forgive such display. Connor would be careful from now henceforth", she smiled at him, "please enjoy your meal".

"I own this place?" Felix was no longer interested in the meal.

"And lots more", Andrea smiled at her son.

"This is just a branch, an extension of Stark HOTELS. You own this place. All these people.. they work for you. It's your inheritance", she said, "please eat up son".

Felix had a shit ton of questions but he was really hungry and of course, his mom wasn't going anywhere...

Yeah.. wait

"Mom? Are you leaving?" He asked.

"After I just met you? Hell no", she smiled, "I do have to go back and manage a few things but I'll be here for a while, for as long as you want me to and would visit constantly until you're done with your final exams. I'm guessing you want to finish highschool here first?"

Felix nodded.

The semester was almost over and it was his senior year, he'd be graduating in a month, there was no need leaving.

"But what brought you here?"

"Felix", Laurel nudged him and Andrea chuckled.

"Eat up, your mom would answer all your questions later", she said and Felix nodded.

They ate and cracked jokes and another waiter came and cleared their table.

"You both are not planning on going home are you?" Andrea asked.

The duo shared a glance.

"Oh please. You're sleeping here with me", she said and stood to her feet .

"Come on", she beckoned on them and they followed her.

They left the restaurant area and headed for the elevator leading to the rooms.

The elevator doors whooshed open and they stepped in. Felix watched his mom hit the topmost floor button.

After all that has happened this night, nothing is supposed to sway him again right? But heck no!

Felix stood frozen at the entrance of the presidential suite on the topmost floor.

"This is heaven", Laurel gasped beside him while Andrea just moved around indifferently.

The floors sparkled, everywhere sparkled.

"Son, please come in", Andrea chuckled at her son's flushed expression.

Felix walked in slowly as though he was scared of breaking something.

The living room was their entire house put together. He stood in the middle and stared out to the full length glass demarcation that gave a nice view of the beautiful nighttime in the city.

He walked closely to it and he was amazed.

He couldn't believe his family owned this. He owned all of this. He was never poor. His parents never abandoned him as he thought.

He was loved and wanted and damned filthy rich, just not spoilt like Kelvin.

His countenance changed to that of anger as he remembered his ruined project too.

"Maybe I can ask mom for money to buy new parts", he thought to himself.

He walked up to them but he couldn't make out the words. He just reunited with his mom, how could he possibly start asking for money.

"You want to shower now? Are you sleepy?" Andrea asked.

"No", Felix shook his head, "you?"

"I think we girls have a lot to catch up on", the two ladies giggled.

He smiled at them.

"Why did you come down here? To Ravenwood?" He asked.

"Right", she remembered he asked that question before and he hadn't changed one bit. He was still inquisitive and cute as back then.

Yes. They left Felix in Laurel's care when he was seven. He just doesn't remember much about his past and he doesn't know why. He barely remembered anything.

She sat on the soft couch and tapped on the space beside her, gesturing for him to come take a seat.

Felix walked up to her and sat beside her.

"Well, your dad travelled on a business trip and I was bored. I decided to take a little break and vacation", she smiled, "and I'm glad I did", she leaned in and kissed his cheek.

Felix nodded, "yeah, I'm glad you did too", he voiced.

While he was still pondering on how to go about asking her for money, she continued.

"Have you heard of RoboForge Technologies?" She asked and he looked at her in surprise.

This was his chance.

He nodded excitedly, "of course mom. I love robotics and RoboForge has been my dream company, if I can get to work there. Actually they have this internship program that would run for three months, you know, since schools would be closing by May. It starts June and runs through to August for those that still care about going to college.... and they're coming down to my school to select the best three and I haven't been any happier but..", he caught his breathe and his face became sad, "I don't have any gizmo to show for it. I was working on one but it got destroyed. I barely have a day left", he said.

Andrea felt sad too but what he said struck her.

"Wait! You attend Ravenwood High?" She asked.

Felix being smart put two and two together. He didn't mention the name of his school and she talked about the company.

"You're the representative?!" He gasped.

Andrea chuckled, "well you can say that".

"Huh?" Felix was confused.

"That's your dad's company".

This was all too much. What if he wakes up on his tiny bed in his tiny room just now?

"Mom.. no.. you... Are you serious?"

"Son it's all cute that that is your dream company and you'd love to work there, but you own the entirety of it honey. It's part of your inheritance. Your father and I made sure you won't struggle for a single thing like we did and we are sorry it took this long".

She took his palm in hers, "you know, your father and I were scared you might not really be into robotics and all but I'm happy it's something you've always dreamt of doing".

"Wait... How rich exactly are we talking about here?" He could feel the palpitations of his heartbeat.

"Like your aunt Laurel said. Filthy rich", she chuckled, " the Stark's empire is not something I can put you through now. I need you to focus on your final exams before you come home and take over. We won't put any pressure on you", she said to him and he nodded slowly.

"I still want to participate in the internship program", he said.

"Very well then, we have a spot left".

"No. I want to participate like the others. I don't want any favoritism and I know I'm the best in my class, I'd win but I have to make another gizmo. Can I get some money for parts?" He finally asked.

"Is that a joke son?" Andrea laughed.

She stood and went into her room, she returned with a card in her hand.

"Here", she handed it to him, "this is one of my cards. There's enough money in it. We do have a card for you but I didn't come with it. Spend as you like and when it runs out. I'd fill it until you come home". She said and tears filled his eyes.

Andrea hugged him immediately, "don't cry. Do not cry. If only we found you earlier", she sniffed.

They untangled from each other's embrace.

"You said one spot left?"

"Yeah?"

"Well I'm back in the competition, that's two spots, is someone occupying the other position already?" He asked.

Andrea nodded, " yes, a business associate. His son schools here and he paid for the spot. I've seen a few works and he's not entirely bad. It's just business", she said.

"Who is that?" Felix asked.

"He said his son's name is uhhhh... What was it again?" She got her phone to find the mail.

"Right. His name is Kelvin Cooper".
