THE UNSTOPPABLE BOSS

Chapter 8; Arrested.

Ava, the manager of the place, had seen what happened from the CCTV camera transmitting live video to her office. So she rushed out of the hotel in heels with two nurses rolling a wheel bed behind her.

“Take her to the hospital now!!” The nurses carried Lilly from Marcus and laid her on the bed.

Their next destination became an emergency ward which they rolled the bed into. A doctor soon entered the ward and Marcus watched from outside with an unstable mind to see the doctor doing his best to revive her.

He rubbed his hair haphazardly, a feeling of disorientation cruising in his body. He rested his back on the wall of the passage in the hospital, tapping his feet on the floor continually like a man whose wife is in labour.

Marcus rushed to the doctor when he came out of the emergency ward.

“How’s she doc? Is she fine now! Can I see her!” Marcus threw millions of questions at the doctor.

The doctor exhaled deeply and stared at Marcus for some moments. “She sustained a fatal head injury and she might be in a coma for some time...like a week or months, even years. It's a traumatic brain injury.” The doctor explained.

Marcus swallowed hard. He blinked his eye severally, feeling tears threatening to spill from his eye. He looked at the emergency ward to see Lilly laying on the bed like a lifeless being. He blamed himself. He should have listened to her when he told him to leave the place.

Marcus looked at the doctor with a red eyeball. “You really mean she might be like this for a year?” He said with pain in his voice.

The doctor nodded. “In rare cases, she might be back from unconsciousness in a week. It's rare.” The doctor said and tapped him on the shoulder. “You don't have to worry, she'll be fine.” He consoled him and walked away.

Marcus felt empty seeing her pitiful condition. He could see Ava talking to the doctor before she approached him.

“Am really sorry for any inconveniences sir we've caused you sir. The doctor said your sister will be fine. You don't have to worry about the hospital bill because it'll be taken care of by the management.” She said immediately.

Marcus chuckled bitterly and faced her. “She’ll be fine? Huh?” He nodded his head, feeling anger boiling inside of him.

“That poor girl is laying down almost dead and you're telling me she'll be fine!!! She is unconscious there, fighting for her life and you're telling me she'll be fine!!” He raised his voice, demonstrating her anger by pointing his finger to the ward.

Ava went dumb. Each of his words carried anger and Ava felt it, even the pain in his voice. Before she could speak up, Marcus asked angrily.

“Where is the guy who did this to her!?”

“It’ll all be sorted s…” Ava was saying but Marcus interrupted her harshly. She looked into his eyes to see an anger she had never experienced before.

“Where the hell is he!!” He barked and stormed out of the hospital to find the guard.

“Hold on..sir..” Ava ran after him. Her heels couldn't allow her to run properly.

His steps were heavy on the floor like a soldier matching to the war to conquer his enemy. People who saw him along the passage made way for him when they saw the fierce look on his face.

Getting to the entrance, Marcus slowed down to see unfamiliar faces at the door. They weren't the same guards he saw earlier.

“Where are the guards who were here before?!” He asked one of them.

“They’ve gone but Kane is over there.” The guard pointed to the direction of the swimming pool.

Marcus turned to the direction to see naked girls clustering around a guy near the swimming pool. He narrowed his eyes to see if was the same guy who pushed Lilly.

How dare he have fun when Lily is hanging at the point of death!!

Kane is not just an ordinary bodyguard. He chose to be a bodyguard in the hotel because there, he'll have the fun of his life, swapping girls like cloth. That was the kind of life he wanted. His brother is the largest shareholder holder of Twinkle hotel and the hospital.

Marcus grabbed one of the empty bottles of wine he saw at the table and smatched it on his head.

The girls screamed and ran away because the fun zone had turned to a war zone.

Kane touched his head to see blood coming from it.

“How dare you have fun when my sister is dying!!” Marcus roared and smatched another bottle on his head.

“Ahhh..” Kane cried painfully, bleeding more from his head. His face had totally been covered with blood.

“You’ll regret ever touching my sister!!” He took another bottle to finish him off but Ava got to the scene with two other guards who held Marcus, restraining him from carrying out the act.

“Let me go!!” He struggled with the guard, his will to finish Kane off undying.

“You don't know who you just messed with!” Ava told Marcus.

The air was suddenly pierced by the sound of Police siren. Ava had called them because she knew she wouldn't be able to handle the situation.

Two police men stepped down from the vehicle and walked to them. You’re under arrest for attempting murder!!” Marcus was cuffed and led to their vehicle.
