Avery was pissed at the way the manager was ridiculing Nathan. She faced him with her brows furrowing in annoyance. “You can’t talk to people like that. You should speak to Nathan with respect. He’s human like anyone else.”

Kelvin broke out laughing. “I guess Avery was the one who paid for their food. He can’t afford a bottle of water so that makes him less of a human.”

The manager turned to the security officer. “Daniel, I think you should call the cops. This guy here needs to be thought a valuable lesson so that next time, he’ll know his limits.”

“Seriously? Who gets punished for self-defense!” Avery ranted.
