“Who the fuck is it?” Corrigan barked through the phone like a wounded lion. He was bleeding through his heart.

Right after his meeting with the underground boos, he had marched straight to his vehicle looking furious.

He got into the car and instructed his driver to get to the hangar so he could board his private jet and get the hell out of the city.

Then the call came.

“I need to tell you something, sir.”

Corrigan took a deep breath after decoding the voice as his assistant’s. He was too pissed to even stare at the phone screen.

“What’s the matter and why the fuck can’t it wait?” he fired and motioned to his chauffeur to drive faster.

The caller sighed and proceeded to clear his throat loudly.

“Get on with it,” Corrigan yelled, causing wrinkles to appear instantly on his forehead. “Stop wasting my time.”

“Yes sir. I’m sorry sir.”

Corrigan was growing more impatient.

“It’s about the stock market.”

Corrigan exhaled and threw his back against the car seat but a few m

Nathan took a deep breath. He was between the devil and the deep blue sea. On one part, he’d do anything to support Avery’s career and on another part, he would do anything to protect her.Avery took his lack of response as indecision. “Listen, Babe. It will mean a lot to me if you’ll be there. I know you’ll be there as Alex and isn’t that awesome? I mean my brand ambassador will be turning up for my event.”“Sounds like a good idea,” Nathan said with his gaze cast on the floor. He was glad Avery was out of sight else she would have noticed his uncertainty. He heard her squeal and her joy caused him to crack a smile. “I’ll see you there then.” She said and hung up before he could speak. Nathan sighed and threw his arms around the couch. “She left me no choice.” He told Jackson who had been silent for a while. Meanwhile, Jackson was able to decode the entire conversation. “Seems like you’ve got a thought but to crack.” He remarked. Nathan shook his head. “I can’t fall asleep w

Mike appeared in the scene and stretched his hand toward Nathan. “It’s good to see you, Young Master.”Nathan shook him with a grin.Mike withdrew his hands and playfully slapped his thighs. “Sorry, I didn’t come with a bouquet.”They all broke out laughing.Nathan took the huge bouquet from Elaine and faced the staff. “I would have loved to collect everything at once but looks like my hands are full.” He turned to a group of guards standing behind him. “Help me get my flowers, please.”The guards swung into action.“Everyone, come into the reception with me. I’ve got a small briefing.” Nathan announced.Mike led him inside while the rest followed, chatting happily.A few minutes later, Nathan was standing beside the counter while the entire staff was at a corner by the door. Elaine was standing beside Mike while Jackson towered above Nathan.Nathan cleared his throat loudly. “Thank you once again for the flowers.” He began. “It gladdens my heart that you guys are appreciative of the

Suddenly, Kelvin stood up and began marching toward their table. The boys exchanged glances. Nathan leaned toward Charles and whispered.“Your guy is up. Just as expected.”They both cleared their throats loudly and looked in the direction of Kelvin. While Nathan was prepared not to entertain any verbal exchange with him, Charles was bent on retaliation. There was something about Kelvin’s demeanor Nathan noticed. His face bore a solemn expression, unlike its usual hard nature. Rather than charging toward them, he was simply walking up to them. When Kelvin made it to the table, he pulled the chair directly opposite them and sank on it. He sighed and mumbled a soft “Hi!”Nathan swallowed and gave a response. Charles said nothing. He assumed that Kelvin was playing one of his tricks on them.“Can I crash over here? It’s a bit lonely there.” He requested and fell back on the chair after turning to stare at the spot he earlier occupied.”Charles began to loosen up.When Nathan studied Kelv

Derrick stopped the moment he approached the entrance. From his spot, he could see Nathan sitting opposite Avery. He watched Nathan join his palms before Avery and he could tell that he was looking for some sort of forgiveness. Derrick smirked and then clenched his jaw. The last thing he would do was apologize to any girl. Meanwhile, he had just left Tyson’s mansion and had decided to spend some time in a private longue when he noticed the duo. Back at their table, Avery was still mad at Nathan and was barely paying attention to his apology. As far as she was concerned, his reasons weren’t solid enough. He was the brand ambassador of her male skin care products and she was looking forward to his arrival at the event not just as her boyfriend but as Alex. While Nathan was still apologizing to her, Derrick decided to move closer and eavesdrop because his ears were begging to hear. Avery snatched her phone from the table. “I think I should leave and maybe you’d stop making excuses,

When the limo pulled at the garage of the Alcantara Estate, Nathan was already at a corner, waiting for Martin and Charles to step out. Immediately after both men stepped out of the car, a bodyguard charged toward Martin to get a hold of his backpack. Nathan walked up to Martin and immersed him in a side hug. “Welcome to Rockville City, bro.”Martin smiled and gave Nathan a friendly smack on the back. “It’s good to see you.”Nathan turned around and motioned to Martin to follow him into the house. “Come with me. I need to show you around the house.”“And after that, we’ll hit the city. Charles was arguing that the clubs here are the best on the continent. I disagree because I guess you guys haven’t seen the best of Rome yet.” Martin said while following Nathan into the house. Charles chuckled. “We’ll see about that.” *****“Are you guys set?” Martin demanded after reaching the living room. He was casually dressed. The trio had agreed to hit the streets by 8 pm and Martin who was

“I’ll be fine.” Nathan protested when Jackson tried to carry him out of the car. Right after his injury was spotted, the boys began to panic. Nathan had informed them that it was a scratch and there was nothing to worry about even though he was feeling quite dizzy. Jackson tore off his sleeve and used it to stop the bleeding and then raced the car down to the Estate. When Nathan stepped out of the car holding onto his arm, he staggered and was quickly assisted by Jackson. “We should take him to the private clinic. The doctor should be there.” Said Charles, pointing at the left wing of the estate. Don and his crew who were able to defeat the attackers arrived at the mansion and were soon hovering over the wounded Nathan. They were all worried. With Jackson’s assistance, Nathan made his way to the estate clinic. They met Felix, a nurse who was always on standby. “Where’s Doc?” Jackson yelled. “He stepped into town to get something. I just called him. He’ll be here in a minute.

“Where are you?” Charles demanded after stepping out of his car. After the hint he got from Kelvin over the phone, he didn’t waste any moment driving down there. “I’m inside the café. Second booth by the right.” Kelvin responded over the phone. Charles made his way inside and headed straight to the place Kelvin had described. When he got there, he saw Kelvin facing the glass window. There was a coffee mug in front of him and he was stirring the content in circles. Charles settled opposite him and dropped his phone and car key on the table. “This better not be a prank, Kelvin. Tell me what you have on Nathan.” Kelvin sighed. “I wasn’t sure you were going to show up but I’m glad you did.” “Well if it involves Nathan, then you know I’ll show up anytime so what do you have for me?” Charles said. Kelvin tossed his mug to the side and sat up. “There’s a plan to murder Nathan tonight.” Charles raised an eyebrow. Kelvin sighed and continued. “Look, I’m not making this up. Someon

Nathan was about to get into the elevator when Annabel squeezed herself inside. He tucked his hands inside his pockets and moved away from her. “So dingbat.” Annabel went on. “You didn’t give me a response earlier because you didn’t want those people to learn about your misfortune right? Now that’s it just the both of us, maybe you can start talking.”“I don’t have time for this,” Nathan said. The elevator doors were spread open and Nathan was the first to step out. Annabel went after him, trying to provoke him more. “Wait up, looser. This company is not for broke people.” Suddenly, Mrs. Wilson appeared clinging to some files.“Thank Goodness you are here, Mrs. Wilson. I just bumped into this rift raft downstairs. Can you ensure he doesn’t get a job here? He’s so useless.” Annabel said. She took his hand into hers. “More than anything in the world. I’ve been running around for years and I never told you this but the main reason why I came back to Rockville was to make peace with your soul and then build my brand from scratch now that you’re here, I just want to spend as much time with you as possible, away from the whole chaos and drama. Just the two of us.” Nathan planted a kiss on her forehead. “Thank you so much, Avery.”She smiled. “I’m excited. It’s going to be my first time in Russia and I just can’t wait to explore the city with the love of my life.”Steve cleared his throat loudly. “Looks like I also need to find the love of my life and take her to Russia.”They laughed.Suddenly, Nathan’s phone began to ring. Morgan was already sweating profusely. “I must find the real Alex. I need to kill that bastard today.”“Are you even serious?” Derrick cried out. “We are in a mess. That chip proved that this whole session was recorded.” He took his head into his hands. “I should have listened to Kelvin. This was a bad idea and now, we’re doomed. I’m not even sure if we’re the only ones in this building right now.”“I reserved the whole damn building and apart from the staff, there’s no damn customer here.” Morgan retorted and threw his gun on the floor. “My backup team will be here any moment from now and we’ll get the hell out of here. “Now that your girlfriend is safe and out of the picture, let’s talk business,” Morgan said to Nathan’s camouflage who was sitting before him and Derrick. Both men had no idea that the man sitting in front of them was a product of science programmed to function like Alexander Alcantara with a chip buried in his head. The camouflage was programmed to follow Cole’s instructions and ever since he walked into the longue, his words and actions were being directed by Coke from outside. “Why did you kill my parents?” The camouflage asked Morgan. Morgan broke into a laugh. “Seriously? Do you think I have time for this? Do you want me to respond to your stupid questions? You’re doing this to buy time right?”“Isn’t it obvious that you have me under your mercy? If you are going to take me out then at least I deserve the chance to know why you killed everyone in my family.” Nathan replied. “For my brother’s sake.” Morgan quickly replied. “You killed Corrigan, the only person in the world wh

If you and your partner were smart enough, you’d know that this is the Grandiose Hotel and the Grandiose Hotel belongs to the Alcantaras.”Derrick and Morgan exchanged glances. “Shit!” Derrick cussed and rubbed his hair repeatedly. “It didn’t cross my mind.”Morgan frowned. “All I had to was give the manager a phone call before coming in. Avery kept staring at her plate of pasta and meatballs. “Are you okay?” Derrick demanded. “Yeah.” She replied and looked up. “Don’t eat that.” Nathan’s voice came through the chip. She heaved a deep sigh because that was exactly what was on her mind. What if the food was poisoned? She kept thinking. Nathan continued speaking to her. “Leave your bag there and get up. Morgan stopped eating and dropped his plate immediately. “But you just got here?”“Yeah.” Derrick agreed with a nod. “You look as gorgeous as ever,” Nathan commented while Avery was tracing her way down the staircase. It was time to meet Derrick. He had already dropped the location and had called a while ago to say that he was on his way. Avery was wearing a short black floral dress with black sandals to match. Nathan had insisted that she apply makeup so that Derrick doesn’t sense her insecurity. “Are you sure about this?” Avery asked when she reached Nathan. Nathan took her face into his hands. “You’ll be fine. I promise you with my life.”She smiled. “If you say so.”“Remember, act normal and do as he says. Okay?”“Got it,” Avery replied and walked away. By the time she arrived at the restaurant, Derrick was already inside because he had texted her about three minutes ago that he had arrived. He had been in my place for the past three days and he’s been looking like shit.”“Did you ask you to come here and convince Avery to go back to me?” Nathan asked. He then raised an index finger. “Listen, tell Derrick that if I see him close to my woman, I’ll kill him so he should leave her alone.”“That’s not why I’m here.” Kelvin sharply replied. “Last night, he went on a rampage and drank several bottles of my wine and when I walked into him in my living room, he was half conscious and he said some things.”Nathan abruptly stood up. “What did he say?”“You and I both know that it’ll be difficult for a man like Derrick to change.” Said Kelvin. “It’s not like I’m condemning him.” He quickly

“He’s coming out shortly,” Daniel reported and sat with the rest of the team. That morning, Morgan’s allies stormed his mansion to talk about the tragic events that were unfolding. It was no news that his biggest warehouse was burnt to ashes. That evening, another one was looted and by midnight, Morgan got information that his security guards were attacked on their way back from the club and 6 perished while two were in a coma. Morgan made his way down the staircase, carrying the weight of his problems. However, he was sober and didn’t display any angry reaction. Perhaps, he was too beaten by the incidents that he had lost his will to react. His Allies looked upon him as he made his way toward them. The group consisted of his friends and partners who had helped him execute shady deals in the past. After he sat, Daniel stood up and cleared his throat loudly. “There is no denying that we all know who is behind the constant attacks. Without mincing words, I’d like to inform you all t

Even though he was a workaholic, he had made it clear to his workers that none of them would disturb him with work matters except if it was an emergency. The call persisted and the warning bells in Morgan’s head began to ring. What if this particular call was a case of emergency? The call was coming fr
