The crowd began to disperse while the electoral committee moved to a corner to converse. It was a case of emergency.

McDonald, Gregor, Hose Luis, and other supporters of Nathan rallied around him to exchange congratulatory remarks and laud his brave actions.

While McDonald and Gregor were speaking with the rest, Mike and Nathan moved to a corner.

“Where’s Jackson?” Mike asked.

“Off to ensure the other plan is a success,” Nathan replied.

Mike placed a hand on Nathan’s left shoulder. “I’m so proud of you and I hope tonight favors us.”

Nathan smiled. “When I said I was willing to do anything to get rid of Corrigan, I meant it. Tonight, Destiny shall favor me.”

Mike gave repeated nods. “I believe so.”

The special squad came with three vans to apprehend Corrigan after Ryan communicated with the State squad team.

While Corrigan’s men were handcuffed and placed in one of the vans, their boss was kept in a separate van, surrounded by some members of the squad team with the leader.

“How’s she?” Mr. Jacob demanded. His wife shook her head and passed him the cup of coffee she just made for him. They moved away from the kitchen counter and entered the living room. “I think she needs time.” Mrs. Jacobs replied. Mr. Jacobs looked down the corridor leading to Avery’s room and sighed. “Well, she has to get over it. I’ve already started making arrangements for her post-graduate studies.”“Give her a break!” Mrs. Jacobs flared up. She palmed her forehead with her left hand and shook her head. “It’s been two weeks.”Mrs. Jacobs looked up to her husband with a tired expression. “I don’t think two weeks is enough for her to forget that boy or accept the fact that she’s in London and has to move on.”Mr. Jacob took a sip of his coffee and dumped the cup on the table. He then reached for his coat from the couch. “Just ensure she’s in a good state by next week. She needs to leave that room and start school.”Mrs. Jacobs folded her arms across her chest and stared at her hus

3 years later!“Smith!” her voice pierced into the room like a clarion call. He closed his eyes and remained by the door. The more she screamed for him, the harder he tightened his eyes shut as if he was going to prevent her voice from getting across to him. “Where are you? You son of a bitch!” she yelled. He then heard her footsteps thudding down the hallway and he knew she was coming to get him. It didn’t matter to her whether there were dozens of servants to attend to her. She always ensured she put him to use whenever she wanted. He knew that staying in the room with closed eyes wasn’t going to prevent him from the inevitable. She was going to barge in, hurl insults at him, and dole out instructions and he wouldn’t dare fail to carry them out. “I’m right here. I was just getting dressed.” He said and then pushed the door open. He pretended to adjust the sleeve of his shirt. He shut the door and rested his back against it. She eyed him from head to toe, her eyes filled wit

3 years ago!Every corner of the room was filled with cheers and applause. Nathan had just taken his oath, completing his coronation right as the president of the billionaire’s club. The small crowd couldn’t stop singing his praises and even though he had several thoughts going through his mind, Nathan felt glad. The proud smile on the faces of his parents meant everything to him. Lots of people were now gathering around him for a photograph and after taking several shots, the guests took turns to congratulate Nathan once more before they began to depart. It was a few minutes past 8 pm and the ceremony was over. Nathan carefully took off his crown and passed it to Jackson. The crown was a symbol of his position and would only be worn when the need arose. In less than ten minutes, all the guests were gone. Henry and Charles had taken Martin to one of the VIP clubs in the city since it was his last night in Rockville. The only people left in the villa aside from the guards outside

Smith stood before the large dressing mirror in front of him and heaved a deep sigh. It was a new day, the day he takes over as one of messengers at the company of his benefactors.Looking intensely at his reflection, Smith wasn’t sure of anything any more. Last night, the flashes plaqued his sleep in the form of nightmares and the struggle was intense. Las night, he saw flashes of people around him in an event and at this point, he wasn’t sure about his look either. He sighed and reached for the hair comb and began to brush his hair. On the table was a mini cosmetic store. His wife had great taste in makeup, hair products and creams so the table was always littered with her stuff. There was no time to arrange her mess. Smith needed to be at the office on time and since he wasn’t leaving with his wife and father inlaw who were having breakfast downstairs, he needed to start moving. His breakfast was delivered to his room as usual and as he made his way toward the door, he couldn’

The office instantly became blurred through Smith’s eyes. Samson’s voice was now a background noise and all Smith could see was himself, seated on Mr. Carson’s desk, going through some files. Smith shut his eyes and groaned slightly, trying to kick off the memories or better still, try to see if they’ll make sense but it was always a mixture of blurred images that came with slight head aches. While his eyes remained shut, Smith saw himself going through documents and dishing out instructions to someone whose face was not clear. He was wearing what seemed like a customized suit and for the third time since he started having the flashes, the letter A logo was there, this time, it was etched on his outfit. “Are you even listening to me?” Samson cried out. When Smith opened his eyes, he saw Samson standing right in front of him looking flustered. “Are you crazy? I’ve been speaking for minutes and what were you doing? Meditating?”“I’m sorry.” Smith mumbled and began to rove his eyes

Five minutes after he left, Samson returned looking more devastated. “What are you doing?” He hurried toward Smith and snatched the file from him. “I’m sorry.” Smith apologized without standing up this time. “Look, Betty is making me go crazy already. I can’t deal with you and don’t you ever go through company files.” Samson stated with a finger pointed at Smith. Smith swallowed. “I’m sorry. I just picked it up after you left and..”“Just shut up!” Samson said and turned around to leave with the file. “I think I can help!”Samson stopped. He turned around and saw Smith standing. “I mean, I can interpret Betty’s draft.” Smith said with a low tune. Even though he wasn’t sure of what this was going to, Smith had a deep conviction that he understood the document.Samson broke into a dry laugh. “Do I look like a joke to you?” Smith cleared his throat loudly. “It’s a partnership project and as the head of operations, Betty had spelt out the role of the each department in carrying out

When Smith opened his eyes, he saw Lisa sitting on the table facing their king-size bed. He sat up and immediately used the back of his palm to prevent a yawn from slipping out of his mouth. Lisa’s hands were cradling a cup of tea and when Smith looked intensely at her, he realized that she was in a night robe. “Shit!” He mumbled and turned to the wall clock. It was a few minutes past 9 pm. This meant that he had been asleep for over 3 hours. After fixing a meal for Elle, Smith headed to the bedroom and decided to lay asleep for a while before he ordered dinner and that was how he ended up dozing for 3 hours straight. “You’re awake!” Lisa said and placed her cup of tea right next to her computer. She was working. “Yeah,” Smith mumbled. “How was your first day at work?”Smith was silent for a while. What should he say? That one day at work left him worn out while she on the other hand who was more worn out got back from work, changed, and was working again.“Fine. I guess.” Smit

Smith arrived at the office at quarter past 8 am and by the time he walked in, Mr. Carson’s office was already sparkling and Samson was setting the desk. It was clear that Samson showed up 30 minutes before Mr. Carson as he stated and even though the cleaners were up to the task, he deemed it fit to supervise them and always gave the final touches. “Good morning.” Smith greeted. Samson turned around and adjusted his red tie. “Morning, Smith. I can see you have good taste in clothes right?”Smith smiled. Lisa bought clothes for him right after the unofficial wedding but now, he couldn’t brag to Samson about his wife’s good taste especially based on the fact that the wedding was not something he was allowed to talk about and the thought of Lisa as his wife was incomprehensible.“Thanks,” Smith replied. He was dressed in one of the well-tailored black pants and checkered shirts Lisa got for him. “Mr. Carson and Lisa will be here soon. Make a photocopy of today’s agenda and distribute

She took his hand into hers. “More than anything in the world. I’ve been running around for years and I never told you this but the main reason why I came back to Rockville was to make peace with your soul and then build my brand from scratch now that you’re here, I just want to spend as much time with you as possible, away from the whole chaos and drama. Just the two of us.” Nathan planted a kiss on her forehead. “Thank you so much, Avery.”She smiled. “I’m excited. It’s going to be my first time in Russia and I just can’t wait to explore the city with the love of my life.”Steve cleared his throat loudly. “Looks like I also need to find the love of my life and take her to Russia.”They laughed.Suddenly, Nathan’s phone began to ring. Morgan was already sweating profusely. “I must find the real Alex. I need to kill that bastard today.”“Are you even serious?” Derrick cried out. “We are in a mess. That chip proved that this whole session was recorded.” He took his head into his hands. “I should have listened to Kelvin. This was a bad idea and now, we’re doomed. I’m not even sure if we’re the only ones in this building right now.”“I reserved the whole damn building and apart from the staff, there’s no damn customer here.” Morgan retorted and threw his gun on the floor. “My backup team will be here any moment from now and we’ll get the hell out of here. “Now that your girlfriend is safe and out of the picture, let’s talk business,” Morgan said to Nathan’s camouflage who was sitting before him and Derrick. Both men had no idea that the man sitting in front of them was a product of science programmed to function like Alexander Alcantara with a chip buried in his head. The camouflage was programmed to follow Cole’s instructions and ever since he walked into the longue, his words and actions were being directed by Coke from outside. “Why did you kill my parents?” The camouflage asked Morgan. Morgan broke into a laugh. “Seriously? Do you think I have time for this? Do you want me to respond to your stupid questions? You’re doing this to buy time right?”“Isn’t it obvious that you have me under your mercy? If you are going to take me out then at least I deserve the chance to know why you killed everyone in my family.” Nathan replied. “For my brother’s sake.” Morgan quickly replied. “You killed Corrigan, the only person in the world wh

If you and your partner were smart enough, you’d know that this is the Grandiose Hotel and the Grandiose Hotel belongs to the Alcantaras.”Derrick and Morgan exchanged glances. “Shit!” Derrick cussed and rubbed his hair repeatedly. “It didn’t cross my mind.”Morgan frowned. “All I had to was give the manager a phone call before coming in. She heaved a deep sigh because that was exactly what was on her mind. What if the food was poisoned? She kept thinking. Nathan continued speaking to her. “Leave your bag there and get up. “You look as gorgeous as ever,” Nathan commented while Avery was tracing her way down the staircase. It was time to meet Derrick. He had already dropped the location and had called a while ago to say that he was on his way. Avery was wearing a short black floral dress with black sandals to match. Nathan had insisted that she apply makeup so that Derrick doesn’t sense her insecurity. “Are you sure about this?” Avery asked when she reached Nathan. Nathan took her face into his hands. “You’ll be fine. I promise you with my life.”She smiled. “If you say so.”“Remember, act normal and do as he says. Okay?”“Got it,” Avery replied and walked away. By the time she arrived at the restaurant, Derrick was already inside because he had texted her about three minutes ago that he had arrived. On her part, Avery had convinced him that their meeting was a secret because Nathan was not going to approve. She had taken a cab to get there. He had been in my place for the past three days and he’s been looking like shit.”“Did you ask you to come here and convince Avery to go back to me?” Nathan asked. He then raised an index finger. “Listen, tell Derrick that if I see him close to my woman, I’ll kill him so he should leave her alone.”“That’s not why I’m here.” Kelvin sharply replied. “Last night, he went on a rampage and drank several bottles of my wine and when I walked into him in my living room, he was half conscious and he said some things.”Nathan abruptly stood up. “What did he say?”“You and I both know that it’ll be difficult for a man like Derrick to change.” Said Kelvin. “It’s not like I’m condemning him.” He quickly

“He’s coming out shortly,” Daniel reported and sat with the rest of the team. That morning, Morgan’s allies stormed his mansion to talk about the tragic events that were unfolding. It was no news that his biggest warehouse was burnt to ashes. That evening, another one was looted and by midnight, Morgan got information that his security guards were attacked on their way back from the club and 6 perished while two were in a coma. Morgan made his way down the staircase, carrying the weight of his problems. However, he was sober and didn’t display any angry reaction. Perhaps, he was too beaten by the incidents that he had lost his will to react. His Allies looked upon him as he made his way toward them. The group consisted of his friends and partners who had helped him execute shady deals in the past. After he sat, Daniel stood up and cleared his throat loudly. “There is no denying that we all know who is behind the constant attacks. Without mincing words, I’d like to inform you all t

It was Saturday morning and during the weekends, Morgan plays tennis with Daniel, his assistant. Daniel is no fan of table tennis and barely knows how to hold the bat but every Saturday and Sunday morning, he shows up dressed in shorts with his gears just to impress Morgan. Also, Morgan knew that his assistant was bad in the sport so it gave him an edge to defeat him completely all the time. This morning, Daniel was already seated by the court in Morgan’s house and was waiting for his boss to show up. Morgan had just stepped out of his room and was on his way toward the living room before heading out to your court when his phone began to ring. He frowned and didn’t pick up the call. Even though he was a workaholic, he had made it clear to his workers that none of them would disturb him with work matters except if it was an emergency. The call persisted and the warning bells in Morgan’s head began to ring. What if this particular call was a case of emergency? The call was coming fr
