33. A Strange Jansen

[CHAPTER 35]

"Are you out of your mind? Why aren't you putting up a fight?!" Matthew reprimanded Jansen in a very irritated tone.

Jansen was now with Matthew and Hansel. They managed to kill the monster that had just attacked Jansen-and almost killed Hansel. Their escape made them move out of the forest area and were already in the area leading to the residential area.

"I can't, Matthew," Jansen said in a soft tone. He was still trying to catch his breath.

Hansel held Jansen's shoulders, slightly embracing, then gave a pat that signaled soothing. Hansel understood that Jansen was in shock.

"I don't know why... I saw the look in that monster's eyes... so pitiful," Jansen continued. He was still trying to neutralize his throat which was still feeling a choking sensation.

Matthew frowned, then turned to look at Hansel. Matthew seemed to have no idea what Jansen was talking about.

"What do you mean? That monster attacked you and it even had the heart to kill you," Matthew said.
