Chapter 2

The auctioneer went on to speak ever so enthusiastically, “Any man who buys her, will not just take her home, but will be buying their way into the prestigious Wilmer family!”

A ripple of excitement went through the crowd as countless men, both young and old, single and married, instantly sat and fed their eyes on her exposed skin.

Her clothes were barely long enough to cover her private parts, let alone the rest of her skin, so their eyes had a lot to take in.

Seeing the anticipation in their eyes, Anna Hutton smiled and crossed her leg on top the other, then leaned back on her seat.

Gabriel Wilmer sat beside her without an iota of emotion as he stared at Ketherine Wilmer whose bright eyes were anxiously looking around.

While the excitement for Katherine continued soaring, the auctioneer smacked his lips together and continued.

“The starting bid for her is 2 million dollars.”

As soon as the words left his mouth mouth, someone raised it.

“2 million and one.”

“2 million, five hundred thousand.”

“3 million, five hundred thousand.”

“5 million…”

The bid kept getting raised even without the auctioneer butting in until a cold voice raised it even high.

“100 million.”

Everyone gasped and turned their heads towards the direction of the voice.

“100 million? For a mere woman? Does this person not know what to do with money?”

“My entire family along with our house is worth that much, but there’s someone willing to pay that high for a human?”

“A woman for that matter. He must be a fool. Only a fool would think of doing something like that.”

“I know it’s an easy way of marrying into the Wilmer family, but isn’t 100 million too much for someone worth less than a dog?”

“If she’s being sold off like this, isn’t it clear she doesn’t mean anything to the Wilmer family? Why spend such an amount for something so valueless?”

“Shut up! What do you all know? Her brother and sister-in-law are closely related to the great four families. She may be worth nothing, but her family is worth everything! Just hearing he’s a son-in-law to the Wilmer family is enough to get most of you peeing in your pants!”

The room instantly fell silent as everyone realized he was right.

After waiting several seconds for someone else to raise the bid, the auctioneer moved towards the microphone again.

“Can I get 100 million and one dollar? Anyone?”

For the second time, he was greeted with silence.

After waiting for a while with no one raising the bid, the auctioneer grimaced and proceeded to announce the winner of the bid.

“100 million going once, 100 million going twice. And there you have it! Katherine Wilmer has been sold off to the young gentleman in the second…”

The door was suddenly kicked open at this moment, abruptly cutting him off.

Everyone turned their heads to see two men in military uniform stepping into the room.

Wade Wilmer stared straight at the auctioneer and sneered coldly.

“Sold off? What is she, a commodity?”
