John gazed at the papers, then up at his father, his expression unyielding. "What are you talking about?"

"Don't play dumb! Did you sell my car?" his father barked, his anger palpable.

John shrugged nonchalantly. "I did. I needed the cash."

His father's face turned red with rage. "How dare you! You sold my car without my permission? You're so irresponsible!"

John remained unmoved. "I did what I had to do to survive."

His father's disgust was evident. "You're a waste of sperm! Can't you see your sister Sandra, how she's making a living? And Marcus, he's doing well too. Why can't you be like them? You've had a more comfortable life than both of them, yet you still manage to mess things up!"
