“Okay boss, I will try my absolute best,” Katherine responded. His grip on the phone tightened.

“I’m counting on you,” he said and with that he ended the call.

Marcus's anger and frustration were palpable as he kicked the car's tire, his eyes blazing with intensity.

"Amayah!" he spat through gritted teeth, her name a curse on his lips. He took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down, before opening the car door and sliding into the driver's seat.

He started the engine and drove off, his mind racing with thoughts of the potential child and his own uncertain fate. He couldn't shake off the feeling of unease, his heart heavy with the weight of uncertainty.
