Chapter 5

Darren, who was already angry, banged the table hard.

"You!" shouted Kodir angrily and pointed at Darren, but Darren, who was covered with anger, no longer cared.

"Why? Why do you always hold back my leave? I am also the same as the others—an employee who has the right to leave!" replied Darren, no less angry.

"Don't think that you, Martano's son-in-law, can work as well as you do!"

Kodir, who felt cornered by Darren's answer, took Martano instead. Even though all Darren wanted was just one day off. However, Kodir's response was greatly exaggerated.

"Sir, I just want one day off! So far, I have always been a backup for other people who are on leave; whoever the cleaning service is on leave, it is my duty to replace them. But this time I only ask for one day, sir!" replied Darren.

"This is all because of Martano's orders!" Kodir said then.

Darren's blood was boiling when he heard what Kodir said, because it was his father-in-law who asked Kodir to torture him at work, and he was not allowed to take time off. I don't know what the purpose is. Is it because Darren has to provide for Renata?

"It doesn't matter; I'll still be on leave!" Darren replied angrily.

"You will be fired," said Mr. Kodir, threatening Darren if he was determined to continue with his leave plans. Everyone knows that Martano will not hesitate to fire someone who believes in him.

Braak!

Darren left Kodir's room by slamming the door, so the sound of the door made everyone who saw him frown. Because they know that Darren has never done that, even though he is angry and insulted, he will remain patient and choose to remain silent.

Darren walked quickly, leaving Kodir's room with emotion still overpowering him. At the moment, he doesn't care whether he will be fired or not; he will definitely still be on leave.

"It's up to you if you want to get fired or not; I don't care anymore! I'm not a cash cow who can only work without a day off! In fact, I work almost 24 hours a day! Is it not enough for me to be forced to work at home, so that at the company I also have to be forced like this?" asked Darren, who immediately lit his cigarette and took a deep breath. It turned out that Darren had gone into the smoking room.

"Whether it's true or not that I have that much money, if I get fired, I'm sure there are still many suitable places to make a living. Because God never sleeps!" Darren muttered in his heart.

He finished smoking cigarettes because he was annoyed; he also ignored the calls of his co-workers, who asked him to return to work immediately because, according to them, Darren had too much rest.

"Just do your work; don't invite me!" Darren replied that he was annoyed because his friends called him several times to irritate him.

"That's really how it is to be the son-in-law of the owner of the company; work as he pleases. Sometimes you don't know yourself; you're just a scab cover!" shouted one of his colleagues.

Darren didn't answer; he just clenched his fists in anger. However, he realized what they said was true. Everyone knows why Martano asked Darren to marry Renata.

** Wednesday, as Darren had planned. He will go to Duta Bank and look for Mr. Arras first because everything depends on him.

It turned out that Renata, Gia, and maybe even Martano also didn't know that Darren was on leave today because in the morning they had no one to discuss the issue of leave. So Darren chose to leave the house as usual, so they wouldn't get suspicious.

"Is there anyone here named Mr. Arras Samuel?" Darren asked the security guard who was in charge of maintaining the security of the bank. When Darren arrived, the atmosphere at the bank office was still a bit quiet.

The customers haven't come yet, and maybe even many of the employees haven't arrived yet.

The security on duty seemed to pay attention to Darren from top to bottom. Maybe he was surprised that someone with a very ordinary appearance was looking for someone, not wanting to queue up to see the teller.

"Father who?" asked the security guard, probing. He even looked at Darren's face with suspicion. Darren's face looked a little fierce and firm, with thin hairs growing on his face. He really didn't have time to tidy up his face because, of course, that would make Renata suspicious.

"I have a need for him. Is he here?" asked Darren enthusiastically.

Darren didn't care about the security guard's suspicious look; for him, the response from the security guard showed that there was indeed someone he was looking for in this office. You can see that the security guard's face looks worried about something.

"I-there," answered the security guard nervously.

"Can I meet? Tell him that someone named Darren Zervano is the son of Rudi Zervano," Darren said to the security guard. He really hoped that Mr. Arras would remember his father, so he mentioned his father's name so that he would be recognized more quickly.

The security guard just nodded, and he seemed to reach for a telephone receiver that was on the wall. Dial a few numbers and appear to be talking on the phone, with occasional sarcastic glances at Darren. However, a few moments later, he seemed to see Darren with a face full of astonishment.

"Come with me!" said the security guard to Darren after disconnecting the phone.

"Thank you," said Darren, who felt grateful because the road was so easy and suspected that Mr. Arras would be at the bank.

"Who are you, Mr. Arras? It's usually very difficult for people to meet him," said the security guard named Bobi to Darren.

"The son of one of his friends," Darren answered honestly.

The two of them took the elevator up to the fifth floor and then walked down the halls of the very quiet study. Until they stopped in a room that had the name Arras Samuel written on the door.

"Please come in," said Bobi, who then left Darren, who looked hesitant to enter.

Knock! Knock!

Darren dared to knock on the door until he heard a deep voice from inside the room inviting him to enter.

"Sorry, sir, I'm disturbing. I'm Darren," said Darren, introducing himself.

A middle-aged man with some gray hair looked at Darren intensely and repeatedly, from head to toe.

"What made you meet me, and how did you know me?" asked Arras in a cold voice. So that also made Darren a little nervous.

With slightly shaking hands, Darren took out the will he had and handed it to Arras.

After reading that, Arras seemed to look at Darren with bloodshot eyes.

"It turns out you really are still alive," muttered Arras, who then hugged Darren tightly.

Arras then said that he and Rudi were best friends from a long time ago. They both come from orphanages because they don't know who their families are. As adults, they are both successful thanks to their persistence. Arras manages to become an employee of a bank, and in fact, he is the owner of the bank, but no one knows. And Rudi succeeded in establishing Daze.

"Is it true what Papa said in the letter?" he asked.

"Yes, you can take the deposit and use it for your needs and your life," answered Arras with a smile.

Darren didn't seem to believe it; he even confirmed it many times.

"Not only that, even here there is also correspondence about PT. Daze. I don't know if you can still take it or not, because they have faked some of it," Arras said again.

Darren took a deep breath.

"Who is the real culprit?" Darren asked Arras.
