Chapter Four

Levi could see the confused looks on everyone's faces, and he didn't blame them. He, too was confused when his uncle first broke the news to him.

"What did you just call him?" The general manager asked with a sneer on his perfectly manicured face which didn't surprise Levi.

"I called him master." The secretary said again.

"And why in the world would you call him that?!" He retorted.

"Where is Mr. Gilead? Tell him that we need his attention right now!"

"Unfortunately, Mr. Smith, my boss, will not be around for a long time. He has handed over the company to Mr. Levi over here."

"What?!" The man bellowed.

"This no good piece of shit gets the company. After all my hard work and dedication, he finally gives it to this no-good idiot!" All Levi could do was to raise an eyebrow.

"What does he even know about the company?!"

"I would watch the way I speak to him if I were you!" The secretary spoke up. "He is the one in charge now!"

Mr. Smith looked like a bucket of ice-cold water was poured on him.

"I'm sorry, sir, " he apologized to Levi with a fake smile on his face, and Levi knew better than to believe him.

"I do actually believe that you are the best man for the job. I can see that you are confident and well-learned. I really do apologize for my outburst. I just allowed my emotions to get the better of me. It's normal seeing as I worked for so long for this company. The least I wanted was for my efforts to be crowned."

"Well, Mr. Smith, I don't know the century you live in, but where I come from, fraudulent people do not get their efforts crowned. They get thrown in jail," Levi said with so much confidence.

"W-w-what are you talking about?" Mr. Smith stuttered, and Levi smiled.

He had him right where he wanted him.

"Josh, please hand me those documents that I gave you this morning." He said plainly.

"Yes, sir." It took him two minutes to fish out the document and he placed it on Levi's outstretched hand.

"Thank you," Levi said with a smile and turned around to face the general manager.

"What is that?" The general manager asked.

"Why don't you see for yourself?!" Levi said and threw the documents at him.

It took the general manager a while before he finally bent to pick it up. The look of satisfaction on Levi's face when the man finally stood up with shaking legs and hands was enough to make the people who surrounded them want to know what was in the document.

"H-h-how did you get this?" Mr. Smith stuttered again.

"How about you announce to the whole company what the content of that document is?!"

Mr. Smith had his head bent, and he couldn't look around.

"Speak, and I may show you leniency!" Levi commanded.

"It's evidence showing that I have been embezzling funds out of the company for the past five years," he said softly.

"Five good years?! You devoted yourself to this company for the sole reason of taking from it, and you think that my uncle will hand over the company to you as a thank you?! I give it to you, Mr. Smith, you are good at what you do, but next time, do not allow arrogance to get the best of you, and you will believe that no one sees what you are doing."

Mr. Smith fell on his knees, begging.

"Please, don't fire me. I promise you. I will change."

"Oh, you are worried about me firing you when I have something better planned for you," Levi said, but before he could even complete his sentence, Dustin fell on his knees in front of him.

"Please, sir. Have mercy on him. He is my father."

"Your father?! Answer this one question. Did you know that he was embezzling funds?" Levi asked, and he went mute.

"Of course you did. You stood by and watched as your father stole from this company, and you said nothing because your monthly allowance increased, and you got a big fat cheque at the end of the month!" Levi was slowly getting angry.

Levi was filled with disgust.

"Not only are you an idiot, you are also a bastard and a selfish brat."

"Please, we are begging you," they both said as they held onto his shoe.

Levi removed his eyes from them, and his mind wanted to scream and punch them. He was livid.

"You still have the nerve to ask for my forgiveness after everything you did!"

"You are evil. Pure evil!"

"Please!" They continued begging.

"Get out of my company!"

"No." They said in unison.

"Are you both daft or something? I said you are both fired!"

Father and son looked at each other, and when they saw their loss, they slowly picked themselves up from the floor.

But Ella did not allow them to finish.

"Yes, that's right." She rushed to Levi's side and wrapped her hands around his arms. "Do exactly what my baby says. Get out of here!"

Levi was disgusted by her actions, and the sneer on his face showed just that.

"Get. Your. Hands. Off. Me!" He commanded with a tone of finality.

"What?! Baby, don't be like that. Look, I was just joking before with all the drama I acted in. You know, I can't really live without you. I love you."

Slowly, she trailed her hands on Levi's chest. "And now that you are the boss of this place, you and I, we can rule together. You can give me a promotion, and I will also be by your side."

"Forget promotion. I have a better offer for you."

"Really?! And what is that?!" Ella brimmed with joy. She couldn't actually believe that worked. Turns out Levi was just an idiot that would never get over her.

"You're fired!" He sneered.
