“What!” Charles exclaimed in shock.

He felt like a rock had been left to sink down in his heart as he heard the shocking news from this stranger.

To him, it felt like it was a waste of time, and he was so annoyed at himself for not sending someone trusted, over to this place instead, to check if the man still lived there.

“Yes. But what’s surprising is the fact that before he left, he paid five years rent more, for this house. So, no one else lives here, and he hasn’t come back since then. In fact, I don’t think he’s ever coming back.” The woman uttered.

Charles almost felt dizzy because all these were too sudden for him to digest, and it wasn’t good news either. He staggered back a few steps and James held him back.

“Are you okay?”

“Yeah, I am.” Charles replied, then he exhaled sharply. “Do you perhaps have his contact or an idea of where he stays, now?”

“No, I don’t. He never really shared private information, so we’re all clueless.
