The Main Targets

Grant isn’t the vilest student in the Academy. Although this is the one who tripped Daemon off the rooftop, there are many who are on the same level as him. That’s right. It isn’t just Grant, Gerald, and Haze who are evil. There are more that’s just as wicked and… there are a few who’re viler.

“Yo!” Haze greeted Gerald who just arrived at the Club House. A special place that’s built for the elite members of the Academy.

Though it’s called as a club house, it’s much more of a mansion. There is a three-floor mansion that’s at the center and, on the side is a pool where students are freely laughing and swimming. Men in black suits and shades are also stationed around the whole area. Securing both the students and the place itself.

On the far right is the parking lot. This is where both Haze and Gerald parked their own cars. Two Shelby Mustangs which is the same as the one that Grant drives as well.

“Got any idea why he called us this late?” Gerald asked right as he locked his car.

The teen is tall and broad shouldered. He isn’t handsome but, in terms of muscle and physique, one can easily think that he can beat down three rugby players all at once. Then there’s Haze who is leaner than him. Just as tall but with better looking features. With a face that doesn’t fit his lifestyle as a thug that enjoys exchanging fists with others.

“Why are you playing dumb?” Haze asked. “We both know what this is about.”

“Right.” Gerald sighed as they began to walk towards the entrance of the mansion. “I was just hoping that it would be different.”

“Yeah, well, it isn’t.” Haze answered back immediately.

A servant waited for them in front of the doors and opened it for them. Inside is a grandiose, long and open lounge. With tiles of pure marble and on the ceiling is a chandelier made with more diamonds than necessary. This brightened the whole place out. Making all the expensive paintings on the walls stick out even more – their prices just being a bit higher compared to the exotic ornamental plants that adorn the place as well.

“Why the hell isn’t he back anyway? What happened to him?” Gerald asked.

The two of them continued walking along the spiraling stairs that lead to the second floor. There’s an elevator as well but, the use of it is exclusive to the highest members of the club.

“Beats me.” Haze said in reply. As they continued walking through the stairs. Reaching the second and then the third floor.

“But I bet they know the answer.” He added as they reached their destination.

On the third floor is a double golden door. Stationed in front of it is another man in a black suit who gives off a more threatening vibe compared to the other ones stationed across the club’s vicinity. This man also greeted the two with a nod as he opened the doors for them without saying a single word.

Haze and Gerald took this invitation and, as soon as the doors closed behind them, a greeting is made. “You’re late.”

The words came from another teen sitting on a long red sofa. This is Christian Astley, the leader of the group and the sone of a wealthy and powerful man who has a great chance in winning the next mayoral elections. He has long blonde hair that’s styled in a slick back, making it look decent despite the length. This leaves his face bare, showing the two sharp blue eyes that he has. Ones that stared down at both Haze and Gerald.

Haze bowed his head. “We’re sorry Christian. We went as fast as we could – ”

Something flew past Haze’s face. Forcing him to stop talking. The sound it made cut through the air and, as the teen turned to look at what this is, he saw a knife. A real one that’s now lying on the floor after hitting the golden doors.

This made some of the legs on Haze’s legs leave. But he’s still able to remain as he is. He knows that he’d only get punished more if he shows any visible weakness to Christian. He’s already learned his lesson one too many times and, with one too many scars.

“You’re not fast enough.” Christian said in reply. “Should I take out one of your legs so we can give justice to that speed of yours?"

This isn’t an empty threat. Christian is perfectly capable of pulling this of. He’s done worse things to other students and there’s nothing stopping him from doing the same to Haze and Gerald; except there is.

“Don’t do that, they’ll still serve a purpose.” This came from another person inside same room. Damian Silvers.

A spectacled teen with messy black hair who’s looking straight at his console. Not even bothering to look around to sound a little bit more concerned. Yet his words are all that’s needed to diffuse the situation and bring Christian back to his normal state.

“Anyway, the reason we called you here is because Grant hasn’t returned to his suite yet.” Another person said, this time a woman who has a laptop on top of a table in front of the sofa.

This is Yvonne. The same Yvonne who called Grant earlier that same night and told him to go back to his suite. The same Yvonne who kept pestering Grant’s phone and attempting calls.

“The problem is that he hasn’t answered his phone. It would’ve been easier if he did.” Yvonne added. “Now we have to put matters into our own hands.”

“What? Can’t we just leave the guy alone?” Damian asked. “You said he went on a drinking spree right Yvonne? The guy’s probably passed out on a street somewhere.”

“That’s possible. But it’s also possible that he’ll confess his crimes to the police.” Yvonne added.

“Ahh dammit, all this talk is really getting me angry.” Christian got up from the sofa and went for the fallen knife behind the two thugs. “Why are we having so much trouble because a fragile and useless insect died? Why does that have to concern us huh?”

The actions of Christian broke the nerves of both Haze and Gerald. They know how volatile this person can be when he’s pissed and, even more so when he’s under the influence of alcohol. That’s why they didn’t make any comments and, even breathed so minimally that you’d think they’re statues.

“We should send them out Christian, it’d be easier to bring Grant back if we use those close to him.” Yvonne said right away because, just like the two, she knows how deranged Christian’s mind can be.

“I have to agree with Yvonne on this one buddy.” Damian added. “It’s best if they’re able to bring him back tonight.”

Christian walked around the room with the knife still on his hands. As if contemplating if he’ll follow the suggestion or push through with his idea of stabbing Haze and Gerald. They’re the only ones who’re actually at risk of getting wounded after all.

“Alright then. Let’s do that.” Christian came to a decision and went back to the sofa with the knife still in his hands.

“But I want him back tonight. Got it?” The teen added. “If you can’t do that then all three of you can go meet up with Daemon in the afterlife.”

“Yes Christian. Thank you very much.” Haze and Gerald bowed their head.

“Grant is moving towards an abandoned building near the academy.” Yvonne added as she tapped a couple of keys on her laptop. Tracking the GPS on Grant’s device. “You two are familiar with that place right?”

“Yes.” Haze answered right away.

He knows this because, it’s where their gang meets regularly. This is an organization separate from the one that Christian is leading. This is more of a real gang in its sense and, those at the top of it are individuals more dangerous than Christian himself.

Thankfully, they’re not going to cross any lines by going there. It’s basically gang territory after all and, on normal days without meetings, there’s not a soul in sight within that place.

“You can leave now. I don’t want to see your irritating faces anymore.” Christian said.

The two immediately followed the command – bowing their heads a second time just for good measure. They didn’t even think twice before leaving that dangerous room. But now they have a new problem they have to deal with. Now they have to look for Grant – something that will never happen anymore.
