Chapter 5

Otto smiled at Clayton while bowing his head respectfully. "Everything you need and whatever you order, I will fulfill immediately because you are my master."

Clayton bowed his head. This still needed to be clarified to him. He stared fixedly at Otto's face. "I'm still uncomfortable."

Otto nodded his head with a faint smile. "I can understand that, sir."

Clayton was silent. He was in a state of indecision. He didn't understand what Otto was saying but tried to remain calm. "Can I go home now?"

Otto nodded his head. "Yes, sir. I will take you home." He raised his right hand, inviting Clayton into the car.

Clayton got into the car, followed by Otto. The vehicle drove towards Ahren's house. Even so, Clayton was still confused about what had happened to him earlier. The car he was riding in began to enter the residential complex where he lived.

Clayton realized that he was driving a luxury car. He thought about what if someone saw him getting out of a car this nice. It would definitely be a conversation starter. "Just get off at the front."

The driver nodded his head and stopped the vehicle at a spot not too close to the house. Clayton exited the car, then raised his hand when Otto was about to leave. "I'm going home. You don't get out of the car. There's no need to wait for me to enter the house. You can leave now."

Otto watched Clayton quietly. He nodded his head respectfully. "Very well, sir. Then we take our leave. Excuse me, sir."

Clayton only replied with a nod, then stepped out after the car Otto was riding in had left. He walked on the sidewalk for a few meters to the house. It was already quiet in the yard, not as crowded as before. He thought he could go inside the house.

Clayton entered the house. Everyone inside watched him with fixed eyes. Ahren glared at Clayton. "You just got home? Where did you go?"

Ella girded her loins as she glared at Clayton. Her eyes flashed with anger. "Have you had enough of embarrassing the family? You're a useless man who can only tarnish our good name. If only you were a useful and wealthy person, we wouldn't be in such trouble. We could live comfortably and not get this kind of humiliating treatment."

Ahren closed her eyes and sighed. She'd had enough of the gossip today, and now her mother was ranting, raving, and insulting Clayton. Her head ached as her mother's screams echoed through the house.

Ahren stroked her mother's arm gently. "Mom, never mind. Stop that babbling. Aren't you tired all day?" She turned her gaze toward Clayton. "You'd better go to your room."

Ella massaged her forehead, which was throbbing with pain, then looked at Ahren with a sharp gaze. "Why did you tell that man to come into the room? I haven't finished talking to him yet."

"Never mind, Mother. Stop it." Ahren lifted her face to signal Clayton to come into the room immediately. Meanwhile, she pulled her mother's  to the living room.

Clayton was also tired from the day. He stepped into the room, then quickly cleaned himself to put his mind at ease. After leaving the bathroom, Clayton sat on the sofa, thinking about what had happened this afternoon. He still needed to find out if Otto's words were valid. But seeing how Otto had acted, even helping him pay his debts, made him believe that Otto wasn't a random person. "He might be able to help me ...."

Clayton woke up in the morning with his head throbbing with pain from overthinking yesterday's events for almost a whole night. He glanced at the clock on the table, instantly widening his eyes. He woke up late.

"At this rate, you'll scold me." Clayton immediately got up and rushed out of the room. But the atmosphere was different, different from usual.

Ella sounded like she was talking to someone. Clayton strolled over then was surprised to see Otto sitting in the living room with Ella. Otto had introduced himself as Clayton' friend and explained his business to Ella. Ella, who is materialistic, immediately invites Otto to enter the house.

Otto smiled while bowing his head respectfully. "Good morning, Mr. Clayton."

Making Ella look at Clayton sarcastically. Otto had deliberately come to Ahren's house. Still, he did not introduce himself as Clayton' servant because he knew he had not told anyone about this and wanted to maintain his master's privacy. Clayton nodded his head in confusion.

"Hurry up and sit down. This gentleman came to ask you to cooperate with his business." Ella asked Clayton to sit down in a sardonic voice without turning her head. Clayton complied, sitting on the sofa to join them.

Otto smiled kindly and was polite to them. "I came here because I wanted to do a partnership with Mr. Clayton. I have heard a lot that Mr. Clayton is an expert in the same field as me, so I am interested in doing some work with you."

Ella couldn't believe her ears. She sneered at Clayton with a cynical look. "Expert in what field? He doesn't have any skills. He can't even do anything. He can only trouble and embarrass the family."

Otto responded casually. He smiled kindly, raising his hand politely towards Clayton. "Apparently, not so. I've heard and seen for myself that Mr. Clayton is talented. It would be better if his abilities were channeled properly. Wouldn't Mr. Clayton earn a lot of money if he worked? Moreover, the abilities Mr. Clayton has are not just possessed by anyone else. Of course, the wages he'll earn will be much higher."

Hearing about how much money Clayton would earn if he worked made Ella's heart leap and even made her eyes light up. Ella, who listened to that, of course, felt quite happy. "Good then." She glared sarcastically at Clayton with an irritated tone of voice. "He's supposed to work and provide a lot of money for us. It's his duty to make a living for the family. I'm glad that someone is willing to take her to work because all she's done is cause trouble and shame to the family. I'm even sick of seeing his face, which is at home almost every day and is useless."

Otto was annoyed at Ella's ramblings, but he didn't show it and still smiled kindly in response to Ella's insults to Clayton. "Of course Mr. Clayton can do extraordinary things. His ability cannot be doubted. He's already a true expert in this field."

"I hope he doesn't disappoint you." Ella still doubted Clayton' ability. Even her eyes continued to glare in dislike at Clayton.

Otto raised one hand to point at the reasonably small paper bag he was carrying by his feet. "Here is a small gift for you, ma'am."

Ella's brow furrowed, but she also felt happy to get a gift. She had no idea what it contained. Ella smiled as she reached for the paper bag Otto had given her. "Ah, thank you. Just meeting for the first time already gave me a gift. It's very different from my son-in-law who never gives gifts. Let alone gifts, even buying vegetables I still have to ask my daughter for money. How embarrassing."

Otto smiled faintly with an exasperated heart. He raised his hand to point at the paper bag in Ella's hand. "It's all because Mr. Clayton has shown us his skills. Think of it as a small gift for you. And of course, Mr. Clayton will be able to give even more gifts when he works with us."

Ella opened the paper bag and inside was a small black box. Ella opened the box, and her eyes widened perfectly at seeing a small ring set with a ruby-colored gemstone. Ella was so shocked and thrilled to receive such a fantastic gift that she covered her mouth in disbelief at what she saw.

Ella had seen the ring before on an acquaintance at a social gathering who used the ruby gemstone ring. That person even showed it off to everyone who came. Proudly mentioning the price of up to one million dollars. Ella did not expect that she would be given this luxurious gift.

Ella looked at Otto with sparkling eyes. She closed the box and put it back into the paper bag. "Thank you. I really like the gift. Then, you guys continue talking about work. I'll go to the back."

Ella smiled kindly at Otto as she rose to her feet and politely excused herself from their presence. She didn't care what work Clayton and Otto were going to do, all that mattered was that she had gotten a fantastic gift. She would brag about it and show it to all her friends later.

At that moment, Ahren, watching them from a distance, approached Clayton. Seeing the suspicious look on Ahren's face, Clayton raised his hand to point at Ahren as a formality. "Introduce, this is my wife, Ahren."

Otto smiled while bowing his head respectfully to Ahren. "I'm Otto, a business friend of Mr. Clayton."

Clayton felt uncomfortable talking about work at home. Especially in front of Ahren. "We should discuss this elsewhere."

Otto understood what Clayton meant. He nodded his head respectfully. "Yes, sir."

They got up from the sofa. Ahren nudged Clayton' arm and whispered softly in Clayton' ear. "You must behave yourself so as not to embarrass my family. Especially if you commit a crime."

Clayton nodded his head. "Take it easy. We have to go now." He signaled Otto with a glance, then stepped out of the house first.

Otto smiled kindly at Ahren, politely excusing himself. "Excuse me, Miss Ahren."

Clayton and Otto got into the car. The car drove away from Ahren's house. Clayton looked at Otto with confusion. "Why did you act like that earlier? What you did inside was disrespectful."

Otto bowed his head respectfully to Clayton. "I apologize for being rude and making you feel uncomfortable like that. I just didn't want your father-in-law to insult you like that and for him to appreciate you more, sir."

Clayton remained silent, looking out of the window. The vehicle continued to drive for a long distance, but it didn't stop when it passed a café or a suitable place to talk about work. He wondered where Otto was actually taking him. "Where are we going?"

"We're going to the continental bank. It's the finest bank and is populated by the wealthiest people in the city, sir," Otto replied in a polite and respectful tone of voice.

Clayton' brow furrowed. He turned to Otto with a puzzled look on his face. "What are we going there for?"

Otto smiled kindly while looking at the road that would soon reach its destination. "To show you proof of your true identity, sir."
