Your Trashy Husband Will Apologize To Me

Sister dipped her hand into her pocket and took out a black card. "I've been carrying it with me for three years with hopes that I'll give it to you soon. I'm glad I was able to."

Adair collected the card and slipped it into his pocket without looking at it. He was no longer the poor Adair Huxley who would awe whenever he saw a luxurious car.

As impossible as it sounded, the present Adair could have anything and everything he wants.

"I promised Halsey she'll eat her favourite foods once she wakes up. I should go." He said, intending to walk away when Sister appeared in front of him.

"You don't need to stress yourself. I can have people deliver trays of food to her room. Aren't you curious to see what I've done with the wealth and power you entrusted into my care?" She asked in an unhurried tone.

"You've done well with it obviously. So much that 300 million dollars doesn't seem like a lot." Adair chuckled.

Colour slowly crept onto Sister's face, but she turned it away before he could see it.

Adair's phone vibrated in his pocket and he took it out to see it was a text message from the delivery company he worked in.

He thought of just ignoring the text message which urged him to come to the company quickly and help deliver some things around town, but decided against it.

He'd get food for Halsey, then drive over to the company with his bicycle to tender his resignation letter. With that thought in mind, he strolled out of the hospital and headed straight to the five star hotel Halsey often sat outside to watch the rich people eat.

He had promised her he'd make enough money for her to eat as many as she wants when they grow up. Well, some wishes do come true.

Meanwhile, in one of the tables, a chubby man sat opposite a very beautiful girl. She was dressed casually and her long hair cascaded down her shoulders but one could tell she was uncomfortable as she had her eyes lowered while fidgeting with her hands.

She kept glancing at the paper in front of her and her exposed arms.

The chubby man who sat opposite her flashed his yellow teeths at him as he said, "Why aren't you eating, Collette?"

Collette raised her eyes slightly and shook her head, "The food here is expensive and I feel it's such a waste to eat them."

The man laughed loudly, attracting the attention of other customers. However, the customers quickly looked away when they recognized who he was.

Mason Harrison was a middle-aged manager in Trust Group of Companies. A company which is ranked as one of the top 50 companies in the world. And as such, he was extremely wealthy and powerful.

"I've told you times without numbers that you don't need to worry about all these things. Even if you intend to taste every dish in this restaurant, I'll get them for you. You'll also get to wear expensive clothes and jewelries, drive luxurious cars, own mansions and penthouses. You can get all these things if you accept to be my girlfriend." The man said enthusiastically.

He did nothing to hide the lust in his eyes which made the girl grip her gown tightly. With shaky hands, she took up the paper and asked, "Mr. Harrison, your words were that you'd sign this contract during this dinner."

The chubby man sighed and reached for the copy of the contract beside his plate. "Collette, I thought we agreed you'd call me Mason instead of Mr. Harrison?"

"I'm sorry, Mr. Harri—Mason. It was a slip of tongue." Collette quickly corrected herself.

Mason scratched his eyebrows with his cutlery as he went through the contract again.

"You don't need to put yourself through this stress. I'll make sure you live an extremely comfortable life where you'll not have to worry about working for a dime for the rest of your life." Mason insisted, dropping the contract again.

Realizing she couldn't have a proper conversation with him, Collette made to stand up but Mason's bodyguard who was standing beside her shoved her back to the chair.

"We're not done with our conversation, Collette. Why are you in a hurry?" Mason uttered, the smile on his face faltering.

"I'm really sorry, but I have to go." Collette gulped down nervously.

At that moment, a waitress walked towards them with the bill. Mason took it and smiled, then he turned it to enable Collette see the amount of the food on the table.

"The bill isn't worth much, but that doesn't mean it's little. I asked you out for dinner so we can discuss business." Mason said, looking straight at her.

"But you're clearly not saying anything about business, Mr. Harrison." Collette replied, trying her best not to panic.

She had heard stories of how this man often trapped young girls like her into sleeping with him. She stupidly harboured the thought she could get him to sign off her business proposal.

Over the past few weeks since she had been trying to get him to sign off on the proposal, he kept trying to coerce her into sleeping with him but she kept warding him off.

Then just this evening, she got a call from his secretary that he had scheduled a dinner for them where they'll discuss her proposal properly.

She had been so overjoyed that she left without surprising her husband. Collette's heart sank when she recalled her husband. She was doing this so she could raise money for his sister's surgery and because she didn't want him to think too much about this dinner, she hid it from him.

"My proposal is enticing enough. Not only will you benefit greatly I'll also sign off on whatever you scribbled down on this paper. How is this not a business proposal?" Mason scoffed, finally putting aside his gentleman charade.

"I'm not interested in your proposal."

"In that case you'll have to pay me for the meal you ordered." Mason retorted shamelessly. This had been his plan all along.

He tried to coerce her into eating her food so she wouldn't escape his blackmail.

"I didn't even eat the food." Collette defended but Mason smirked.

"The company doesn't know and they don't care. It's either you pay me back right now and here or you spend the night in my hotel room." Mason said and pushed his chair backward.

He got up and walked to Collette's side. He reached out to hold her when a muscular hand held his and twisted it backward.

Mason screamed in pain and glared aggressively at Adair. Then he barked in anger, "How dare such an uncivilized person touch me!"

His words caused the entire hotel to fall silent as everyone directed their attention towards him. Some had excitement in their eyes, while a few pitied Adair but they were all waiting to see what Mason would do.

Adair simply ignored Mason as he looked down at Collette gently. With his consciousness as a vampire returning, he was able to hear the conversation from a mile away.

Collette Huxley was Adair's beloved wife. She came from a wealthy family. Although not too wealthy, they had a company and even had a say in the country's affairs.

Her family disowned her after she refused to get married to a member of another famous family; a marriage which would've made her family even more powerful.

Out of rage, they asked her to choose between the Adair and them. In the end, she chose Adair and to show they were totally against her to the family who she should've been married to, Collette was disowned and she was forbidden to continue using her last name.

It was a distressing situation to Halsey's parents at that time, but they didn't hesitate to take her in. And since they had no idea how old Adair really was despite the fact he told them he might've been 18, they let the two hold a quiet wedding which legally gave Collette a last name.

Collette felt her throat jump out her throat as she quickly sprang up and shielded Adair protectively behind her.

Mason huffed as he fixed the puzzle on his own. His eyes settled on Adair's ordinary clothes and he said in disdain, "Is he the reason you've refused to take my offer? What can such a wretched person like him offer you?"

"I've been content with him for years now and I will continue to be, Mr. Harrison." Collette said in defense and felt Adair interlock their hands.

"Nonsense!" Mason yelled angrily. Collette was a beautiful woman and he had long made a vow to sleep with her no matter what. Now that he discovered the reason for Collette's uncooperativeness, he was determined to show her what she had been missing by being with such a loser like Adair.

"Your trashy husband will go down on his knees to apologize for touching me. Otherwise I'll have my bodyguards break his legs!"
