The Rescue.

Right after Ryu had passed out on the floor due to the poison he drank from the coffee, the office door was pushed open, and in came Richard whose hands were placed in the side pockets of his pants, and following behind him were two bulky men dressed in an all-black outfit.

Seeing Ryu lying on the floor and now unconscious, Richard let out a low but satisfying chuckle, he pulled his right hand out of his pocket and placed his on his head, ruffling his curly hair a bit as he ran his hand through it before dropping his hand back to his side.

He softly pushed Ryu with his leg but no sign of consciousness from him, he looked back up at the two men and ordered them to pick Ryu up and they did while Richard moved to the side, giving them enough space to carry out their job.

"Take him away and you know what to do with him, no matter what, he can't be seen alive," Richard ordered and the men nodded their heads in understanding. "Make use of the emergency elevator that leads directly to the underground parking lot so that you won't be seen by anyone. No mistake will be tolerated, now leave," and they all matched out of the office while carrying the unconscious Ryu.

The moment they were out of his office, Richard hummed as he twirled his chair in excitement. Not only would he get rid of Ryu to take his widowed wife, but he would also get to keep his money, which was worth celebrating after all. The real definition of killing two birds with one stone.

"Your dumb self really thought I would help you? Ha! How cute of you to assume I'm a nice person. A nobody like you doesn't deserve to be alive, I'm doing earth a favor by getting rid of you," he mused to himself and laughed at the end of his words.

...

Meanwhile, the men who carried Ryu made use of the emergency elevator as ordered by their boss and it took them directly to the underground parking lot where they placed Ryu inside the boot of their car and drove out of the place.

A few seconds after they drove out, another car followed closely behind them. A few minutes into the chase, inside the second car that followed the one taking Ryu away was Mr. John, he quickly dialed a number into his telecom and the call was answered almost immediately.

"Boss, there seems to be an issue," he reported with a clear voice. "Mr Ryu is being taken by unidentified men and he seems to be unconscious," he finished while also making sure his eyes were concentrated on the road.

"What? How dare they?!" Chairman Langley roared from the other end of the phone, "No matter what, you must make sure nothing wrong happens to my son, make sure he is brought back safe and in one piece! I'll be sending you backups, nothing should go wrong," he said and ended the call.

Right after the call was over, Mr. John went back to concentrating on the road, making sure he wouldn't lose them as it seemed they had yet to notice that they were being followed.

The ride was a long one and from what Mr. John could think of, they were probably taking Ryu to somewhere far and remote. Although he had no idea what they planned to do with the young man, he understood it wouldn't be something good.

With how far they've gone and how fast they were driving, he knew the backups would take time to catch up. Mr. John had to think of something to do to stall time as almost thirty minutes had gone by.

The path they were driving on was a deserted narrow road that had bushes on both sides of the road. Mr. John knew where this road led to, it was an abandoned beach.

It was now pretty obvious what they wanted to do with Ryu, throw him right into the water where he would drown and die. This made him curious why they wanted to harm the Chairman's son, and what do they stood to gain. Perhaps, had the Chairman's son offended them in some type of way?

Questions filled Mr. John's mind and none of which he had answers to. Rescuing Ryu would be the only way to get answers to his questions.

Nonetheless, Mr. John was able to come up with an idea to stall time. Looking down for a brief moment, pulled out a gun kept secured in his car, and with his hands off the car steering, he inspected the gun's chamber to be sure it was loaded with enough bullets.

Satisfied, Mr. John went back to concentrating on the road with one hand on the steering wheel and the other holding the gun, he held the gun out of the car's window and aimed for the back tyre of the car carrying Ryu away.

Though driving at a pretty high speed, Mr. John was skilled at handling guns and with one shot fired at the left back tyre of the car, the tyre was damaged, causing the car to screech loudly on the road.

Not still content, he fired at the right tyre and ended up damaging both back tyres of the car. Mr. John then slowed down as he observed the chaotic state of the car before him and just as he had thought, the car stopped.

They were left with no choice but to stop as the tyres of the car were damaged and it would be impossible to drive.

Mr. John took that as a cue to make a move and with great speed, he drove ahead of the car and stopped right before it, blocking them entirely.

He then stepped out of the car with the gun held tightly in his hands, ready to be used. Mr. John walked up to the car carrying Ryu and opened the front driver's door and before they could react on time, he shot twice at the man seated beside the one driving, startling the driver.

And with the gun, he smashed it hard against the head of the man driving, knocking him out instantly. Mr. John let out a loud sigh after seeing they were all taken out and easily too.

He walked towards the boot where Ryu was kept, opened it, and pulled the young man out. He then carried him effortlessly and placed him with uttermost care inside the car. After that, Mr. John walked back to the other car and carried the man he had knocked out with the gun and placed him inside the boot of his car, and drove away.

Who knew the rescue of his Chairman's son would be this easy, turns out a backup wouldn't be needed after all.
