Azgalor

-Rakades City, Schedek Kingdom-

The scorching sun shone down on the city of Rakades. It was a city close to the Ymir deserts so it was always very hot.

The tanned citizens were going about their daily businesses. Merchants could be found at almost every corner of the city, showing how popular the city was. It was a small city with about 50,000 citizens.

The people of Rakades were devout worshippers of Arzek. They called him the 'Sun God', as they believed he was responsible for their safety. There were different temples throughout the city, showing how deep their beliefs were.

In the biggest temple located at the heart of the city, a curvaceous young woman dressed in a white garment was praying to the statue in a fountain.

Her skin was very smooth, and her curves were heavily pronounced, a perfect example of the hourglass figure. Her face was covered in a veil, but it did nothing to offset her beauty, only making her seem like a mysterious beauty.

Suddenly she stopped praying. She turned around and saw a handsome man with black hair walking towards her.

He was dressed in a priest garment, with a purple robe over his garment. His purple robe was beautifully embroidered with golden threads at the neck, while on the chest were three stars. He held a cross in his right hand, and was admiring the veiled woman curves.

"Azgalor."

The man named Azgalor smiled, showing off his pristine white teeth. His smile made him look devilishly handsome.

"Aisha."

"What are you doing here?" The woman named Aisha asked; obviously displeased at the appearance of Azgalor.

Azgalor chuckled at her question. He raised his head and faced the scorching sun before replying her.

"Why? Can't I be here? I'm still a citizen you know? Am I not welcome here?" Azgalor asked.

"You stopped being welcome here 3 years ago." Aisha stated coldly.

Azgalor stopped smiling after hearing her reply before asking in an equally cold tone.

"Where is it?"

"Where is what?"

"Don't play dumb Aisha. Where is it?" Azgalor asked coldly, his eyes narrowed.

"It's no longer here."

Suddenly the temperature dropped, and a terrifying aura burst out from Azgalor's body.

"I'm not here to play with you Aisha. Tell me where it is now or this city will cease to exist."

"You've finally showed your true colors Azgalor. You will have to kill me before I tell you anything." Aisha said defiantly, her own aura rising from her body while glaring daggers at Azgalor.

"Very well. If that's your wish, I will grant it."

All of a sudden Aisha felt the strength sapping away from her. In the blink of an eye Azgalor appeared in front her and gripped her jaw.

He removed the veil covering her face before planting his lips on hers. Aisha tried to struggle but it was futile. She couldn't use her magic.

Azgalor forced his tongue into her lips and twirled it. His right hand moved to Aisha butt and grabbed it before giving it a hard slap.

Aisha inadvertently let out a moan, her nether regions already getting soaked. Azgalor smirked before pulling away.

"Why did you stop?" Aisha asked, clearly conflicted but wanting more from him.

"I wanted to do that one last time. Forgive me." Azgalor said, a conflicted expression appearing on his face.

Aisha looked at him in confusion, her heart still beating furiously from the kiss.

Azgalor clasped his hands together and uttered something. Aisha suddenly fell limp in his arms.

He set her down carefully before sighing. She was going to detest him for this.

He looked at her sleeping peacefully before moving his gaze away from her.

"Melchizedek!"

As soon as he cast his magic, a humongous magic circle appeared over the small city. It cast a shade over the busy city and blocked the scorching sun. People stopped what they were doing and looked at the giant magic circle in the sky.

A young police man, who graduated at the top of his class, saw the magic circle. His face turned ashen as he immediately recognized the magic circle.

"Impossible! It can't be! A grand scale magic circle?!"

He turned around and amplified his voice with magic before screaming.

"Run! Everyone stop what you're doing and run! Your lives are in danger!"

Everyone looked at the young man as if he was crazy. Run? What for? Our lives are in danger? As if! We have Arzek the Sun God protecting us. Nothing shall happen to us.

The people snickered at him before going back to their activities.

While this was going on, Azgalor clasped his hands, the cross in his hand shining a very brilliant white. He looked at the sky before saying.

"Archangel's wrath; Hellfire."

The magic circle suddenly turned crimson red. It started spinning wildly, draining torrents of mana from all over the city. The alarm, which was supposed to ring during a monster invasion, started ringing.

A huge dome like barrier covered the cities, while the street lights mounted on the roads started shining red. It was a red alert.

Everyone all over the cities stopped what they were doing and started running while screaming at the top of their lungs.

Unfortunately, it was too late.

Meteors started falling from the sky. The meteors, which were as large as a house instantly evaporated anything it came in touch with.

Men, women, children, even the animals weren't spared. Wherever the meteors landed nothing was left in its place.

Explosions occurred throughout the city, fire broke out, people trampled over one another in a mad dash for safety. It was utter chaos.

Azgalor, who was now pale from casting grand scale magic, slumped down. He glanced at where Aisha lay, protected by the barrier he formed, sleeping peacefully.

This was the least he could do for her. He couldn't allow her witness the destruction of the city she grew up in.

Azgalor reached into her clothes and brought out a tattered book.

He stood up, left the temple and soon joined the chaotic situation. In a matter of seconds, he had disappeared.

Aisha woke up to a ringing sound in her ear. She stretched her body lazily before getting up. Her memory was still fuzzy.

Her stomach grumbled, reminding her that it was time to break her fast. She opened the door and was greeted with a gory sight.

Everywhere in the temple was destroyed. There were dead bodies everywhere, some with missing limbs.

Aisha stumbled but forced herself to stay standing. She walked towards the exit, each of her steps laden with pain as she recognized some of the littered corpses on the floor.

"Priest Valed." She muttered at the sight of a headless corpse, his body crushed by the debris. She wouldn't have recognized him if it weren't for the scar on his right arm.

"Bishop Salak, Deacon Rahad, Priestess Sahim." Tears fell from her eyes as she recognized the littered bodies on the ground. Even the children in the temple's orphanage weren't spared.

Suddenly it all came crashing down, Azgalor's appearance, the kiss and her losing consciousness. She reached her hands into her garments and found out that the book she always carried with her was gone.

It was all her fault. She should have given him the book when he asked. It was her fault he destroyed everything.

Aisha cried, until all the sorrow was gone and all that remained was anger. She swore that she was going to make him pay for this.

Because of him, the city of Rakades was no more.

***

Azgalor appeared at the top of a cliff. The cliff overlooked the city of Rakades, which was now bathed in flames.

On top of the cliff was a middle aged man. He was dressed in the same priestly outfit like Azgalor; the only difference being the six stars displayed on his chest. He watched the sight below him with an expressionless face.

"Did you bring it?" The man asked in a voice which sounded like he was looking down on Azgalor.

"Yes." Azgalor answered in a respectful tone, handing over the tattered book to the man's outstretched hands. The man observed the book and nodded in satisfaction.

Azgalor was about to breathe a sigh of relief when the man asked in a tone colder than ice.

"Why didn't you kill her?"

Azgalor gulped, before replying in a low tone.

"It was unnecessary."

For the first time since Azgalor appeared, the man turned to look at him. His purple eyes seemed as if they pierced his soul, causing Azgalor to break out in a cold sweat.

"Are you to decide what is necessary and unnecessary?" The man asked, still maintaining his stoic expression. "Your job is to follow my orders, not decide for me."

He turned, and without warning Azgalor's right arm detached from his body cleanly. Azgalor twitched, his face contorting in pain.

He was an Arch Mage; an existence halfway into the demi-god level, and yet he couldn't respond to the man's movements at all.

"Let this be a warning. Don't ever question my orders again." He took one last look at the city below him.

"Let's go. I'm in a good mood today." The man said before walking down the cliff.

Azgalor picked up his detached arm, glanced at the burning city of Rakades before walking down the cliff.

In a matter of minutes, they both disappeared from sight.
