The sound of the alarm woke Lukas up from his sleep. He turned over and checked the time on the clock. 7:30 am.

Lukas groaned before getting up from the bed. He walked to bathroom and soaked for a while in the bathtub before sighing.

The hot water had a therapeutic effect on him. After soaking in the bathtub, he took his bath before exiting the bathroom.

Today was a good day for him so he decided to look better than ever. He styled his silver hair, put on a fancy pair of earrings he got for 2 coppers yesterday and he wore his clothes.

He did all this while humming to the song blasting from the speakers.

After checking himself in the mirror, he nodded in satisfaction at what he saw before heading out of the room.

At the same time he opened the door, the door opposite his room opened too.

Two pretty girls with blonde hair exited the room opposite his.

The girls gasped at the sight of Lukas, as if they had seen a ghost. One of the girls had an ugly expression on her face as if she had just eaten dung.

Lukas donned a confused expression on his face when he heard his name from her mouth.

"Lukas Kerr." Ayleen said.

"How do you know my name?" Lukas asked, his confusion evident from his voice.

"You don't remember us?" Ayleen replied, her eyes narrowing at the silver haired boy.

"No. Have we met before?" Lukas asked.

"Hah!" Ayleen exclaimed. She glared at Lukas before strutting away angrily.

Lukas didn't understand why someone he hadn't seen before was behaving like that to him.

Bella gave Lukas an apologetic look before following Ayleen to the elevator, leaving Lukas even more confused than ever.

After the small event with Ayleen the rest of the journey to the hall was uneventful. Lukas bought some snacks as breakfast before making his way to the hall he wrote his test.

There were already a few people present when Lukas arrived at the venue. He made his way to his seat and sat down, waiting for the hall to be filled up.

After one hour, the people who passed the entrance test yesterday had all arrived.

As if on cue, the examiner for their hall made his way into the room.

He was a tall but lanky man. His hair was cut very short; he was average in looks and had beady eyes that seemed to see through everyone present.

"Congratulations on passing the Entrance tests. You are now students of Aegis Imperial High School. To complete the registration process please head down to room 237. There you will be attended to. Once everyone present has done that please head back here so that I can explain the rules and regulations of this prestigious school"

Everyone quickly obeyed the man and headed to the room. It took over 50 minutes for everyone to finish registering.

They were given a modified version of the identity card issued when they awakened. Their names, class and ranks were printed on it. It was also a form of currency as the card could be used the same way debit cards were used.

Lukas sighed as he looked at the number printed on his school card.

-Name: Lukas Kerr

-Rank: 001

-Balance: 3.72 gold.

He was a pauper. He had less than 4 gold in his account. Everything here was so expensive. He decided to find a way to make money after all these was over.

"Good. Everyone is present now." The examiner nodded before saying.

"Out of the 100,000 people who took yesterday's entrance test, only 12,521 people passed. The people who passed are now 1st year students. I would like you not to be too happy yet, as you just made it into the outer campus. You are yet to make it to the main campus."

"Now listen carefully, because I won't repeat myself again. Every month we shall have tests to reshuffle your rankings. Don't be too comfortable with your rank, because it could change every month."

Those who fail to meet the required results for each test will be immediately expelled. I suggest you work hard so that won't be your fate."

The man continued talking, ignoring the murmurings and exclaims at the mention of expulsion.

"There will be general and specialized classes. You are not required to attend any of the classes if you don't want to, as long as you pass the monthly tests."

"There are special benefits offered for students who are in the top 100 every month. I believe everyone would try their best during their stay here. That is all."

He then turned and exited the hall, leaving everyone to do what they wanted to do.

Lukas left the hall a few minutes later. He took the elevator and went to the 5th floor. He got to a room at the corridor and entered it.

Different school uniforms were displayed in boxes. Lukas chose the one that fit him perfectly; a stylish black shirt with the school badge displayed on the chest, with a red jacket and black trousers. His black shoes matched the uniform perfectly.

Lukas smiled in satisfaction until he heard the price of the uniform.

"That will be 1 gold note." The receptionist said.

Lukas groaned at the mention of the price.

He looked at the balance on his card and seriously contemplated returning the uniform. In the end he decided against it and gave the receptionist his card.

The receptionist eyes widened at the rank displayed on his card before saying.

"Oh, Rank 1. Your payment will be 50 silver notes."

Lukas looked at the receptionist in confusion. She noted his confused expression before explaining to him.

"The number 1 ranked student of each month is allowed a 50% discount on all purchases in the school premises. Also you are purchasing the limited edition of this year's school uniform so you get 2 extra sets as a promo package."

Lukas eyes widened. The rank he occupied actually offered some pretty good privileges. He smiled at the 50% discount offered to the rank 1 student. He was going to take advantage of that. He smiled at the receptionist after taking his bag before exiting the room.

He had already made plans for his accommodation. He was staying in the dormitory. He made his way to his dormitory, which wasn't far from the outer campus. About 15 minutes walk at most.

Lukas made his way to the room he was assigned to.

There were already two boys discussing in the room when he entered. He greeted them but they didn't respond.

Lukas didn't mind, as he dropped his backpack on a bed. The room had bunks like the one in the military, only bigger. There were 3 bunks present, which meant that six people were assigned to this room.

Lukas lay on his bed and decided to rest. He opened his phone and looked at the time. 5:43 pm. He swiped down and opened the school official app on his phone. He logged in to his profile and saw his schedule for tomorrow classes.

-General class: 8:00 am.

-Specialized class: 12:00 pm.

He sighed before dropping his phone. He was now a student of Aegis Imperial High School.

He wondered how his friends at the military were faring. He hadn't called them since he left.

Lukas drifted to sleep amidst the thoughts.

What were the odds of the masked hunter that was her teammate being Lukas himself? From what she could tell, she could see that Lukas was very experienced as a hunter, even more experienced than her. She easily deduced that Lukas had thoughts along the same line as her after the traumatic experience at the Zivel forests, and decided to increase his strength by becoming a hunter. However, she did not account for the speed at which he grew. Amanda glanced at Lukas and Ciel briefly before exiting the small hut, leaving both Lukas and Ciel no other choice than to do so. When Lukas and Ciel appeared outside the small hut, the scene before them was one that they did not expect at all. Several huge monsters could be seen charging at the weak villagers. These monsters were incredibly huge, easily towering the villagers at more than 3 meters tall. They bore an uncanny resemblance to the tigers on earth, with few differences. The teeth of these monsters were incredibly sharp, cutting through the weak defenses of the villagers like tofu, and the four front canines were shaped like sabers, hence their name saber toothed tigers. At a single glance they could see more than fifty saber toothed tigers; an

    New Rules

The new rule passed by the Chairman of the Hunter Alliance created a buzz among the Hunters. As expected, the hunters and Guilds were not welcoming of such rule. They had reported to the Hunter Alliance in hopes of them providing a reasonable solution, but instead all they got was a ban telling bronze ranked hunters not to participate in dungeon runs. Of course they were several bronze ranked hunters or Guilds who disregarded this rule and went ahead on dungeon runs. However their ending was far from ideal. The bronze ranked hunters all had their hunter’s license revoked permanently while the Guilds involved were given a 12 month ban on participating in dungeon runs. A 12 month ban was similar to crippling the Guild’s flow of profit because they couldn’t rely on expeditions alone, needless to say that dungeon runs were twice as profitable as expedition. When several hunters heard the harsh punishment passed on the hunters and Guilds that violated the rule, several bronze ranked hunt
