As the officer approached the scene, the young man ran to him.

"Mr. Jackson!" The officer recognised him instantly.

After asking Ryder what had happened, which Ryder explained in detail, the officer informed him that he would need to come down to the station on charges of intentionally causing traffic and assaulting Mr. Jackson.
