Wife

Everyone in the room sneered at Adam. They whispered. Many said how poor Adam was in Juni's family. An orphaned man with no family.

"Juni, let's go home!"

In his former life, Alex was a powerful man and everyone adored him. He was cursed to be in the body of a poor, despicable man. What kind of bad luck is this? He thought to himself.

Juni brushed Adam's hand away. He stepped away.

"Don't embarrass me, go if you want to go!"

"Don't invite me, I'm very embarrassed by your presence right now!" Juni sneered. Abigail, Juni's eldest sister spoke up.

She looked at Adam from head to toe.

"Look at you, how despicable you are, Adam."

"You humiliate your wife at this big event, don't you ever think of working hard to buy her an honorable gift?"

Abigail spat in front of Adam.

"You're poor, living in your family so people will respect you," she continued.

Inside Adam, Alex couldn't stand the insults at all.

"Go away!"

"Don't come again. I will match my sister with a handsome and rich man. Not like you, a poor and despicable man. I'd be unlucky if my sister married you."

Adam rubbed his face in frustration.

"Okay!"

Adam left immediately. He didn't look at Juni. Juni felt that there was something different about her husband now. In the past, Adam would plead at her feet and ask her to forgive his poverty. But now, he was so indifferent? What had happened? Was it because he was injured in the head and had fainted that Adam changed like this?

The power from which he could leave without begging. Does he consider himself rich now? Juni thought.

"Adam!" Juni walked behind Adam and smiled.

"You're not doing your usual?"

Adam frowned not understanding.

"Habits?"

"You were so afraid of losing me. When Abigail said that I would leave your life, you would beg and even cry at my feet. Now, you seem calm. What's going on?"

Juni raised one of her eyebrows.

"I don't want to do that."

"Feeling the most powerful now?" Juni snapped immediately. Abigail looked at Adam and was curious about his answer.

Adam shook his head.

"No, but did I do something like that in the past?" June looked at Abigail.

"Back then?"

"Have you forgotten? You always begged and seemed to lick my boots if I asked to be separated from you. But now, you're quiet. Now I'm asking, do you have the strength to walk away from me?"

Juni was still waiting for the man's explanation. Adam let out a long sigh and shook his head.

"Something seems to be wrong!"

Adam hurried away and said no more. He got into a taxi. Juni and Abigail looked at each other.

"What happened to your husband?"

"Why is he different like this?"

June shook her head. "I don't know either. He looks like someone else. what made him like that?

Abigail hissed.

"Better leave that poor man Juni, don't go near him. Be with Herry. He can make you rich. What do you expect with Adam?"

Abigail walked towards grandma Qeuni.

"What about grandma?"

"Am I wrong? I want Juni to find a good man. With Adam, her future is unclear. Herry is a rich man. He bought a diamond stake in Florida. I want him to be with Juni."

Grandma, You nodded in agreement.

"Juni, listen to what your sister says. You have nothing to gain by staying with Adam."

"Break up with that poor man, our family is prominent in Rome. Don't be an embarrassment." Juni let out a long sigh.

"I still have business with Adam. It's very hard to let go," she replied immediately. Mr. Mark came in with a wine glass in his hand. He had been listening to the commotion his poor son-in-law was causing.

"What do you expect with an obscure man like Adam?"

"He has no wealth, he's even the poorest in our family. Come on, Juni. Don't be like this. It's like you're wasting your time."

Juni looked at her father.

"He has a very mysterious jade. I want to get it. I heard it's very expensive."

Abigail and Mark laughed at what Juni said. "Jade? Oh my God, are you serious about that stone?"

"Adam is the scum of our family. Forget about him. Be with Herry and your future will be secured. I don't want you to defy me, Juni. I don't like it!"

"Shit!"

"Why do I have to be trapped in a poor man's body like this? I've never been humiliated like this. Geez, what's going on?"

He wanted to leave the body of a poor man like Adam immediately.

"Hey Adam, don't you have any skills that people insult you like that?"

Alex seemed to be talking to himself. The taxi driver stared from the rearview mirror. He looked at Alex with a furrowed brow.

"What's going on Mr. Adam? Why are you talking to yourself?" he asked. Adam shook his head. He was about to get caught. There was no way anyone would think he was lying if he said that in this man's body, it wasn't Adam but Alex.

How could their souls be confused?

"It's okay, drive the car!"

"I want to be at Citra's apartment now!"

"All right!"

Adam had to meet Abraham. If he was thrown into the future, , Abraham, his loyal bodyguard, would still be alive. He wanted revenge on Diana and also on Marco. Well, at least he would help this poor body to have wealth so that people would not despise him anymore.

Arriving at the tall building. Adam walked into the lobby.

"Excuse me sir, who are you looking for?"

"I have an apartment here?"

The guard burst out laughing. He looked at Adam from head to toe with a look of disgust.

"Are you dreaming?" Adam shook his head.

"I'm serious, I own one of the most luxurious apartments here!"

"Get lost!" the man shooed him away. Adam frowned, not understanding. "Why are you kicking me out?" he protested. In the past, when he had visited his cheapest apartment, he had been highly respected. But now, he was completely humiliated.

Was this retaliation for being too arrogant back then?

"I want to meet Alex Walker!" Adam exclaimed. He called out to himself. The man stopped in his tracks as he was about to enter.

"Mr. Alex?"

"Geez, he's been asleep for nine years and it looks like he's going to die."

"What do you mean?" Adam didn't understand.

"The rich man is in a coma, his wife remarried a rich businessman, I don't think Alex will live!" he said.
