For some reason, Rin was feeling the place to be familiar which was quite weird because he had no memory of visiting this place earlier.
The thought of that was more than enough to make him shocked.
The area around the old museum was also creepy enough to scare anyone who dared to even walk around it.
That was the same for Rin too. He too was scared right now but his legs forbade him from running away from here.
Instead, it felt as if he was attracted to the mansion.
He subconsciously ended up entering the museum that was right in front of him after slowly opening the gate.
Then he walked towards the door of the museum and opened it right after which he ended up entering the mansion.
Just when he placed his foot inside the mansion, it started to thunder outside.
Suddenly it got too dark as if it was going to rain.
"Huh...? What just..."
Rin regained his senses after hearing the sound of the thundering and the lightning.
He looked here and there only to confirm that he was inside the museum which he was staring at just a while ago but the most shocking thing was he didn't even recall how he got inside.
Probably he had spaced out but it was too weird for him to perform all these actions.
He could see many ancient statues and items that were placed in the mansion.
"Wait... this isn't scary..."
When he looked at them carefully, he concluded that they were looking better than they look which the museum had from the outside.
It wasn't well lit but despite that, he was able to see them properly thanks to his extraordinary vision which he had since he was a child.
For some reason, he was able to see in the dark in a much better way than during the day, but he never disclosed it to anyone since that was without a doubt weird.
'Wow... the skeletons, and these spear-like weapons...'
He was completely awed by so many different types of weapons that were present from the Stone age.
The left-out bones of the dinosaurs also fascinated him.
The fact that he was inside a dangerous and scary museum had slipped from his mind. Thus he kept on looking for many more things that were present inside.
It seemed as if he was having fun in the mansion where everyone feared to even get close to it.
He kept on walking and looking at things when all of a sudden he ended up reaching a weird room that was present just next to the first area which he had ventured right now.
He just stepped into that room since the door was open earlier.
That room wasn't empty completely, but it did seem spacious.
Regardless, when Rin took a look at the entire area, all he could find were many bones that were placed there.
He slowly walked towards one of the bones and touched it slightly.
"This... this doesn't look like it's made up of wax...", he said in a low voice.
The feeling was indescribable. He felt as if the statue that he was touching was real and was alive until a second ago.
"I don't know why but each time I touch the statues, my heart starts racing!"
He could feel his heartbeat getting intensified and that was why he made that remark.
The moment he let go of the statue, his heartbeat became normal.
He thought it was just a coincidence, but it seemed like he figured out that it was something related to the statue that made his pulses rise.
'Tsk, what am I even doing here? I have to go home...'
He recalled the fact that he was on his way home and thus he started walking towards the same door via which he had entered.
'No, please don't go...'
"..."
Rin paused all of a sudden just before he could leave because he heard some strange voice as if it was trying to call out to him.
"What was that...?", he wondered while turning his gazes here and there.
He started to now walk back towards the central area of the museum because he felt that the voice had come from somewhere near the center area.
'Tap Tap Tap'
He didn't cease his steps and continued to walk when all of a sudden he stumbled upon a huge cage that was made up of glass.
Inside that, there was some book placed that was shining with red light.
It was probably the radiance of this very thing that was illuminating the area thanks to which he didn't have much of a problem looking at the path in which he was walking.
'Lub Dub Lub Dub'
His heart was beating too fast right now, probably faster than ever.
Of course, the same reaction was seen when he had touched the statues, but that didn't cause the heart to beat so fast that it would somewhat cause pain.
Right now, the increased heartbeat was hurting him a bit due to which he was in pain, but that didn't matter to him.
What was important right now was the book that was placed inside the glass boundaries.
'Just... what the heck is that?'
He knew just by looking at it that it was a book, but it had no idea about its abnormal power which was attracting him and causing him pain at the same time.
"Weird... too weird..."
Regardless of his remarks, he just walked towards the glass boundaries and ultimately touched it.
The moment he did that, the light from the book was intense as if it wanted to come out from the cage.
Rin looked here and there and ended up finding a weird switch that could lift or remove the glasses.
He walked towards it and pressed the button but there was no response.
He was now puzzled because he had no idea about the way to remove the glasses.
"Maybe this will...", he looked at a lever that was right beside the button.
He pulled it down but then again there was no difference.
"Sigh, maybe it's not working because most of the things are rusted..."
"..."
"Tsk, maybe everything is rusted..."That was the only thing he could say. Of course, he wasn't wrong, everything in the place did seem to have rust on it.That was probably because it had been too long since it was left and there was probably no one to look after the place.Because of that most of the things had ended up in a bad condition."Sigh, I guess I need to find some other way to break the glass..."When he took a look at the glass, he could clearly see that the glass was quite thick.Without a doubt, it could withstand a large impact too with ease.Probably it was strong enough to block even bullets or missiles. However, Rin didn't care about those reasons, he just lifted whatever he found in the vicinity and started to throw them towards the glass.'Bang''Bang'The things kept hitting the glass but not even a single crack was produced. Of course, it was only after 50 minutes he realized that the
*Blink Blink*'Wh-where am I?', Rin opened his eyes while asking himself this question. He had an unfamiliar ceiling on top of him. It was quite dark, but despite that, everything was clear to him."Wasn't I in my room?", he asked. He was completely confused because the place in which he was right now was none other than the same museum from which he had departed earlier."Just what the heck is going on?", he was getting chills and goosebumps was a common occurrence right now for him.Clearly, very clearly something was fishy and he definitely felt that.He tried to stand up but unfortunately, his body didn't have even an ounce of strength. He was feeling feverish earlier and the same feeling was present even now. His body was definitely quite warmer than normal and he wasn't in his best condition either.'Tap Tap'And while he was in such a state, he suddenly heard the sound of someone's footsteps. At firs
Rin was forced to get the Grimoire but he had no idea why the man himself didn't do it.Although he was told that the book would choose the one who was worthy enough to it, he felt as if this was some random joke.'Tsk, I guess I have to trust him for the time being...', Rin was still suspecting him after all he was just a stranger."..."But he let go of all those thoughts and concentrated on what stood in front of him.'The cage... or perhaps barrier...''How do I break it?', that was the biggest question. He did hit earlier with all of his strength due to which a crack did appear, but he had no idea if he had to do the same again. He took a look at the spot where the small crack was present.'Hmm, I guess I should try hitting this spot with some sturdy material...', he decided and then looked around. The man was confused as to what he was doing. He wanted to see how Rin would break the barrier since he believed
The man was indeed astonished and failed to think anything more. His mind was blank just when he heard the shattering sound of the barrier. He wanted to deny the fact that such a barrier was broken by a brat such as Rin, but no matter what he would do, he couldn't change the truth."Yes! Finally!", he was quite happy about the fact that the barrier broke. But more than that, he was happy because he wouldn't be required to bang his hand again and again on it.It had already started to bleed but despite that, he continued to punch it.Probably each time he punched he thought - 'In the next punch it will definitely break!'That was good thinking which would lessen the pain and thanks to that he could keep punching till the end.Now Rin wiped the little amount of blood in his own shirt and then walked slowly towards the book that waited for him ahead.*gulp*'Our entire fate is in your hands...''If you can rea
Although Rin tried to tell himself that this was nothing more than a dream, he failed to wake up or come out of it.It was as if he was trapped. Indeed, he tried pinching himself and even slapped himself once or twice, but no, in the end, he was still surrounded by the dark mist and the darkness itself. All he could hear was someone's voice which he wasn't familiar with."Now accept it already, you have come here with greed to get your hands on the Legendary Grimoire of my master!", the voice said."..."This was bugging Rin even more. No matter how many times he denied it, the voice would just try to prove otherwise. It was saying the same thing again and again which was quite frustrating indeed."Sigh, just how many times should I repeat myself?""I didn't come here willingly!""I was just trying to get the book which the person asked for in return of which he would tell me about my parents and my missing brother!", Rin made
"Huh?", Rin was preoccupied with the light so much that he had forgotten about the riddle but it seemed like the voice decided to move on. 'Sigh looks like I couldn't answer the first question...', Rin was a bit sad. 'Hmm, but indeed, that was something to think about...', however, he was a bit happy that such a question was asked to him. "If you are told that tomorrow is the end of the world and if you are given with a choice to save only one among your mother, your best friend, and a stranger, whom will you save first?", that was the second question which the voice asked. The question was quite tough for Rin. He didn't know what exactly he had to answer with. Of course, while saving someone, one would give priority to the ones which are the most closely related so obviously, the answer for that should be a mother. But then again, he could save his best friend too because that person would also be close to him. No one would gi
Vars then swiftly went inside as Ruff prepared a room for Rin. Till then, Vars had been holding him in his arms.Ruff was happy to see Vars doing so much but he too wanted some opportunity to do the same.A grand room was prepared only for Rin and after leaving him on the bed, Vars came downstairs to discuss with Ruff and the maids. They all gathered around the couch where Vars sat in his office. The office was large enough to accommodate all the maids and other workers.“The one I brought today, he is none other than our master.”“This mansion, in fact, we all belong to him so whatever he says, you must do it.”“Treat him properly and with patience and no matter what, never be rude to him.”, when he mentioned all this, he was giving off a little killing intent.“We will depart to Werewoll in 3 days but until then, I hope no one makes any mistake that might anger him.”This meant
Rin could feel the pain fading slowly and steadily. While it was true that he had been bullied a lot, it was not an injury that he would suffer in a single day. He had been getting hit in the same spot for an entire year which made his bones quite vulnerable. But at the same time, the bones were slowly becoming strong. After the healing, the vulnerability would disappear and only the strength of the bones would remain to make them quite strong for any normal human of his age.‘I have to pretend to be asleep for a little longer.’, Rin kept on pretending to be asleep.Yes, as the healing continued, he did peek once or twice to see the book, but the light was too blinding due to which, he failed to even take a glance of the grimoire. He kept his eyes shut nevertheless and waited for the maids to leave the room. It was quite a nostalgic feeling – pretending to be asleep, that is.Soon May had finished healing Rin completely. Lala fini
But the shock did not last for long as letting out a long breath, ron forced himself to calm down. He had been trained for incomprehensible situations such as these, and thus he knew best that he had to remain coolheaded.Losing his mind at the moment would not benefit him in the slightest. And so, lifting his head and staring at Ren right in the eyes, he coldly muttered."I don't know how you are alive...but it doesn't matter."Turning his head and staring at the building in the distance, calmness returned to his face."You think you'll be fine if you do anything to me? You forget who is inside of that building?"The edges of his lips curled upward. Confidence rose in his voice, as he realized that Ren couldn't do anything to him.The situation was strange. For Ren to have been able to get some people to lead him here, he definitely must've asked for a few favours, but that didn't He knew just how valuable his life was, and his death would only lead to his eventual death.Ron clicked
Excellent!"Joyously shouted Roseal as he stared at a small monitor before him. Extending from the monitor were multiple wires that attached themselves to an individual. Subject 996"Who would've thought that patient that I had put the least hopes on would end up being the one that I have the most hope for."He was truly delighted.Out of all the promising patients he had, 996 seemed to be the ones displaying the most obvious signs of success. At the moment, subject 996 was going through a virtual simulation. Inside the virtual simulation, then he was put under multiple different trials. The trails although different were all things that would cause any sane man to feel fluctuations in their emotions. From killing civilians to committing terrorist acts, or dying in multiple different ways.At the moment, both the MRI machine and Holter monitor were currently showing no unusual fluctuations. This meant that subject 996was currently in the exact state Roseal was trying to achieve.A sta
After killing multiple black-clad individuals, Reynold appeared before Emma as he heavily panted for air. "Huff…yes, thanks" Similarly gasping for breath and nodding her head, Emma's eyes darted all over the place as she looked at all of the battles happening around her. "What's going on? where are the professors?" "I don't know" Shaking his head, he looked just as confused as Emma… Logically speaking with everything that was happening around them, the professors would've already come down to help them as they wouldn't stand there and just watch the students die. It had to be noted that a lot of the students here were sons and daughters of very influential figures. Yet with everything going on around them, they still weren't here. That only meant one thing… Thinking that far, he clenched his fists and looked at Emma who seemed to have had the same thought as him. They were on their own… -Woosh! -Woosh! -Woosh! Snapping Emma and Reynold out of their thoughts, three streaks
As his emotions returned, Ren's face repeatedly changed as he felt his shoulder twitch uncontrollably. === -Clank! -Clank! -Clank! Surrounded by three black-clothed individuals, Reynold swiftly moved around his apartment hacking at them with his sword whenever he saw an opening. -Clank! "khhh…" Parrying his sword, one of the black-clad individuals signalled to the other two people to attack at the same time. Noticing their sign, Reynold forcefully twisted his body and defended against two attacks coming from his left and right side. -Clank! -Clank! "khhh…" Barely blocking the attacks, he took a few steps back as beads of sweat dripped from his forehead. Looking at the three black-clad individuals before him, Reynold couldn't help but curse. "Damm it" Whoever the trio was, they knew about his attack pattern and the sword art he used. From the way he attacked and his habits, they knew them all. It seemed that whoever they were, they had done their research on him and had c
With Emma in his arms, pain flashed across his face as his body trembled uncontrollably. Then, raising his head and staring at the sky, towards the red mass in the far distance, Ren screamed at the top of his lungs. "Haaaaaaaa!" His desperate and pained cry resounded through the whole world. * Inside of a tent, not far from where Ren was. A male stared at the panel displaying the battle that was ensuing. His eyes were devoid of any emotions. There was deep ruthlessness hidden within them. Staring at Reb who was mourning Emma's death, the male did not feel anything. Rather, there was a trace of disgust on his face. Tapping onto his right ear to cut off the communication device, he took his eyes away from the screen. "...How useless." His emotionless voice rang through the room. "You had one job, and one job only. Defeat him, yet, you let such emotions sway you. How many times does this make it?" Deep disappointment flashed across his eyes as he stared at a small flask in his
Slowly, cuts started appearing all over his body. For the next minute or so, Reynold was slowly but surely being driven towards a corner. To the spectators, it looked as though he was about to lose.But."Tsk."He suddenly clicked his tongue. Almost instantaneously, a tremendous hue wrapped around his daggers.Taking a step forward, his body suddenly melted into the darkness.SHIIIIING!Appearing right in front of them, Reynold thrust his daggers forward as he performed an odd combo. His first strike was a powerful strike that shot up like lightning, followed by consecutive strikes that could seemingly sever rivers. With each strike, the dagger's pattern became more and more eccentric. At one point, one of the daggers followed a path that was similar to that of a snake. Almost impossible to predict.Under the barrage of attacks, Aerin and Nicholas both cooperated and tried their best to defend themselves against Reynold's weird attacks. However, they knew that they were once again at
Bang bang.Everyone's eyes focused on the arena. This was one of the most anticipated battles.[Aron vs Ren]Already ten days had passed in the blink of an eye and according to the people, these two people were tge strongest.*"Ha, I have to end this battle soon.""Monarchs's eye."—Rustle! —Rustle! The rustling sound of vegetation being pushed to the side echoed across the surroundings as two figures stood on opposite ends.Standing on one side was Ren's cold figure, whilst on the other side was Aaron."You shouldn't have let me catch up with you."Aaron playfully smiled. In response to Aaron's provocation, Ren's face remained indifferent as he coldly said."Move out of the way.""…Oh? Why should I?""…"Ren did not respond.Placing his hand on the sheath of his sword, he started channelling his mana."Hmmm"Feeling the fluctuations coming from Ren's body, Aaron's face became serious. He soon disappeared.Just like before, Aaron reappeared right in front of Ren. Thrusting his dagger
His body twitched with annoyance as the white reaper felt his other's emotions run down his body. The Duke's resistance irritated him. "It's funny how you think you can do something to me now that we're both in the same ranks again. You couldn't do anything when we were of the same rank before, yet you think a small power-up would make a difference?" his fingers pressed against Duke Azenoch's arm as he squeezed his hand. The Duke's face changed, but his hand continued to squeeze before it compressed it completely and he was able to close his hand into a fist. White reaper could feel the bones of the demons crush inside the palm of his hands. "Don't annoy me any further." Pulling his hand back, the hand tore off of the Duke's body and blood began to slowly spill out. his other self glanced at the torn-up hand for a brief moment before throwing it behind him, only to see it stop mid-air and fall at the same pace time was moving at. The same could be said for the blood as it rema
But that wasn't what concerned Lightning Dragon. His concern was that the White Reaper on stage wasn't the one he had fought. 'His mana control, it's completely different from when we fought. In addition, he moves a lot more efficiently than in the past. Every one of his movements seems to be perfectly calculated, and...hm?' His thoughts paused for a second. Leaning his body closer, his eyes opened widely as he pressed his hand on the window to get a better look at the fight. 'Wait…' His eyes slowly started to enlarge. "That…" Opening and closing his mouth, his face paled as he came to a sudden realization. 'He's standing where he was at the beginning of the fight.' No, rather, he was only one step ahead of where he previously stood. This… Who in the world was this? Was he the White Reaper he had once fought? 'Impossible.' Lightning Dragon shook his head. The undeniable reality in front of him shook him to the core. It was at that moment. "Enough!" He was jolted out
